The Mu Epsilon clan was originally found on June 20, 2009. Our Founding Fathers were previously all members of another clan which was plagued with inactive members and a lack of leadership. Since our founding on that day, we have never shut down.
In Late-September 2009 great changes were undertaken within Mu Epsilon. The Clan moved outside the realm of Gileanor and into the general gaming world. As of October 9, 2009 the original clan was turned into a division of the Mu Epsilon Clan and renamed Mu Epsilon RS. The other original division occupied territory in the Halo 3 universe, and is known as Mu Epsilon H3. Today, the term Mu Epsilon Clan (capital C) refers to the entire clan, including all of its divisions in different games.

In Mu Epsilon we judge you neither by your combat level nor total level. Neither by your experience nor wealth. We pass judgment only by the quality of member you are. Essentially we base this judgment on your willingness and dedication to becoming a better member of the clan, and more importantly a better member of society (both in-game and in-real-life). Anyone can apply to join the clan regardless of their levels, but only those of quality are initiated.
At the same time, we do recognize the needs of members to be surrounded by those of a similar level to themselves. For this reason we have created a squadron exclusive to players who are level 105 or higher. Members of this squadron participate in exclusive events and private communications.

What would a clan be without events? Well, to be honest it would still be a clan, just not one that does events together. While we do appreciate the simple fact that we always have people in a chat room waiting to talk to us not only while we play, but while we surf the web or do homework or anything else at the computer, we do like to come together to the same location in game and actually do stuff together. Sometimes its combat, like Clan Wars or PvP. Sometimes its skilling, like chopping wood or community mining. And sometimes its social, such as achievement parties or playing games. We encourage members to get together with one another often to enhance the game play, but honestly it doesnt matter to the clan leadership what the event is (most of the time). The emphasis is on ENHANCEMENT of game play, not ENFORCEMENT of game play. That being said, what you put into the clan (as in the time you spend making friends) determines what you get from the clan (aka the new friends).

What sets Mu Epsilon apart from the rest?
If every single clan was exactly the same, then it would be nearly impossible to make a decision on what clan to join. We choose a clan based on what they have that others do not, what they do that others do not and/or who is in them and not others.
Mu Epsilon has a positive outlook on the Clan World
When you read through many of the clan discussion topics these days, it seems that everyone is convinced the clan world is coming to an end. They see it this way because they are old and have the experience from the clan world which existed years ago before the nerfing of the wilderness. While we too have people who once roamed the True Wilderness of Runescape, this clan was founded in the eyes of this so-called downfall of the clanning world. For this reason it is our view NOT that the clan world has gone to hell, but that it will soon climb to heaven.
Mu Epsilon offers a community who understand the boundaries of the game
The founder of the original Mu Epsilon is a college student. Many of the members of our founding pledge class of Mu Epsilon RS are college students. What’s that mean? That means that we know that real life sometimes gets a little hectic. Not that a 12 year old can’t understand that concept, but it is completely different once you get to college. Every college student knows what it’s like to have too much to do in too little time. You won’t get kicked out of this clan just for missing an event.
The Members of Mu Epsilon Clan are mature and respectable
Firstly, we judge not by levels, but by character. Not the thing you play on, but who you are. You could be level 125 and be a horrible person, and you won’t get in. Likewise, you could be a level 3 new person with an awesome personality, and you will get in. Secondly, it is the mission of every Mu Epsilon Member to become a better member of society.
Mu Epsilon understands that not everyone has RL money to spend on a game
Mu Epsilon is dedicated to providing its members with the highest quality of tools to aid in their gaming and clanning experience, but only to do so at no cost to its members. We have vowed to never make mandatory any good OR service that requires members to pay money. The only way we will make mandatory any program or membership that costs money is if we the clan pays for it for each and every member.
Mu Epsilon has no “X Sets” Requirement
Many of the large clans require that a member keeps a certain number of rune sets in their bank at any given time. We do not believe in this practice.
Mu Epsilon has no “Future-Applicants” program
We see the FA programs found in many clans to be a waste of time. Many of them have the right reasons, but the wrong methods. Firstly FA’s are redundant from the get go because you have to apply to become one! Not only that, but often FA’s are not allowed to participate in a large number of clan functions. Instead, we offer a pledge program. New applicants become pledges, and while a pledge one demonstrates his quality as a member prior to being initiated. As a pledge you are considered a full member of the clan and are allowed to participate not only in every event as once initiated, but also in a few exclusive pledge-only events.
