I love maths. I like analysis/calculus. It's really interesting. Linear algebra is really hard.

I always found trigonometry to be extremely easy. I always finished my math early so my grade 7 teacher had me do advanced stuff to slow me down a bit and even in grade 7 it just came naturally. In contrast I'm absolutely terrible at doing algebra when it requires order of operations and i still don't know how to do long multiplication or division and i had a terrible time on tests because I'de always be asked to show my work even though i could look at the question and know the answer without the slightest thought.
Wait if i was so smart where'd my life fo wrong 0_o

Algebra requires the least amount of pure logic and more just following procedure.
Trig, calc, requires logic (hence Japanese people like Meidou there think it's easy)
Geometry is the same as trig/calc just not as hard.

I love math because it's straightforward. X + 1 = 2, X = 1. It's nothing like Literature in which you can have an opinion or in some situations there are several right answers. Sure there are situations in math in which there are multiple correct answers, but they are set and non-negotiable answers.
I haven't gotten to truly high level math (in Calculus right now), so that might not be completely true, but as far as I've gotten, it is.

At my level, trig is probably the easiest, but I have the least trouble with algebra.

I absolutely hate shapes.
I can do math with numbers that actually exist, like if you give me a physical object I can do all the math related to it, but the whole graphs or not drawn to scale shapes throw me so far off.

Geometry was so easy. I liked being able to have a visual reference for things.
Algebra isn't bad, it's just boring with all of the equations. Same goes with calculus.

To be honest, I find most Maths pretty easy, but if I had to choose which I prefer, it'd be Algebra. The only bit of Maths I have a slight disliking to is probability, but its not something I do much of.

I don't like math too much either, mainly because I'm taught to take a formulaic approach to math but I prefer to solve it intuitively. I did much better in geometry than algebra I (B average in geometry, C average in algebra), but for some reason Algebra II has been pretty easy so far. I'm going with geometry here, but I'm not too sure. Most people are better at one than the otherr, but I'm probably equal on both.

I'd say Algebra is equal in difficulty with Geometry. It's really a two sided coin since they're so different. The proofs in Geometry are easy or hard depending on whether or not you're good with riddles for instance.

Just curious why do all the Brits and Aussies call it Maths? It just sounds silly for some reason and always makes me wtf when i see it.

Oh and try solving higher equation it's not procedure it's you just have to get somewhere (say from a to b)
how you want to get there is your problem

I always found maths to be pretty easy, even if I didn't like it or enjoy it.
Algebra was particularly easy for me to pick up on, as was all forms of trig.
I stay away from maths entirely now, apart from in logic, in which it plays a subtle but important role.

QUOTE (Wikipedia article on Mathematics)
The word "mathematics" comes from the Greek μάθημα (máthēma), which means learning, study, science, and additionally came to have the narrower and more technical meaning "mathematical study", even in Classical times.[9] Its adjective is μαθηματικός (mathēmatikós), related to learning, or studious, which likewise further came to mean mathematical. In particular, μαθηματικὴ τέχνη (mathēmatikḗ tékhnē), in Latin ars mathematica, meant the mathematical art.
The apparent plural form in English, like the French plural form les mathématiques (and the less commonly used singular derivative la mathématique), goes back to the Latin neuter plural mathematica (Cicero), based on the Greek plural τα μαθηματικά (ta mathēmatiká), used by Aristotle, and meaning roughly "all things mathematical"; although it is plausible that English borrowed only the adjective mathematic(al) and formed the noun mathematics anew, after the pattern of physics and metaphysics, which were inherited from the Greek.[10] In English, the noun mathematics takes singular verb forms. It is often shortened to maths, or math in English-speaking North America.

Geometry's a piece of cake, even geometry in space (3d).
BTW, the hardest type of math IMO is the one you don't really study at school, it's olympics-type maths... Doing arithmetics for instance, which means working strictly on positive integers, or working with number congruences... That's a pain in the ass.

Math isn't too hard if you can understand what to do or if you use some logic. It can be a pain in the rear though to figure out 20 problems in one night.
Algebra FTW!

Actually, especially with word problems, Algebra involves critical thinking more than mindless usage of protocol or formulae.

I took algebra over the summer in like 28 four-hour days and the first half was incredibly easy and just review and then factoring got introduced and whatnot and I started failing but I retook some tests and passed and I think I mostly understood it. I'm in geometry this year and it seems pretty basic but our book (entitled Geometry for Enjoyment and Challenge) throws in questions that actually make you think and it gets hard.
so algebra. sure.

Really? Because if you define your variables and know which numbers to plug in, you'll have a pretty easy time solving the problem.
But I guess if you aren't sure where each needed number goes, you do need some critical thinking.
