As of the last few weeks whenever I enter my password and email (or username) usually into Facebook, but ocassionally other sites too, like my email, when I click the Login button, instead of Logging in, it does an "Ask.com" search of the URL bar.

I'm not exactly sure why, but I end up going to an ask.com search and I have to go back, press Login again, and repeat that a bit.

It ALWAYS goes 3 times though, and I don't know if that's important. After the third time it will log me in properly.

Does anyone have any advice?

I can think of two possibilities here. Either malware is causing this, or the Ask toolbar is messed up.

Do you have the Ask toolbar installed? If you do, uninstall/disable it and see if the problem continues.

What security software do you have installed, e.g. anti-virus, firewall, anti-spyware? Make sure it's up-to-date and run scans with your anti-virus/anti-spyware for malware. If you don't have any, check the Free Software Sticky in Tech Discussion or ask here for advice.

If your current anti-virus/anti-spyware finds nothing, install Malwarebytes Antimalware (see Free Software Sticky), update it and do a scan with that, then report back here tongue.gif

Try going to Firefox, at the search bar( not the address bar) left of it, click the google(or your search engine) logo, click Manage Search Engine, and find Ask.com.

And then click on it to and click "remove".

I hope this will help ice.gif
