There are rumours about Obama doing a smoke a day (doubt it's true) but would you mind if a leader in your school, country etc...
I would mind because they have to set a good example for people who they are leaders to.

This should probably go in the debate room.
I think they should be free to do whatever they want, as long as they don't break any laws. Humans don't always have to be sheep and follow each other; we should have the intellect to make decisions for ourselves rather than copying everyone else.

It's a free country. Unless it's illegal, who cares? Who is really going to look at a success like Obama and think, man, he got to that position by smoking.
Anyone who is that ignorant is going to end up smoking anyways.

I don't mind other people smoking, much less leaders doing so. My head of state smokes? Good for him. It's not as if he'll impose to everyone to smoke as much as him. Freaking out because 'they should set an example' is just another way to say "thinking is hard".

I would imagine the debate against it would be that the world leader would become a poor role model.
I have nothing against a world leader doing any activity that it legal, although if it's something like smoking it would be advisable to do it in private.

Obama smokes?
whoopy-freaking-doo
It's not like he's smoking pot or illegal stuff (waiting for any one who opposes Obama to say he is smoking pot

).
Smoking may not be the best for your health
But it's not immoral
It's not illegal
The guy is ruling a huge nation, I'm surprised he's smoking only one smoke a day!
C'mon, it's not like he's cheating his wife.
Stuff like that would NEVER happens
It's also not like he died having sex with a hooker in his office....

There's also no proof that I won't get hit by a meteorite if I got out of my house, but that's hardly any reason to not go outside. That's paranoia to the highest degree, and a smoking leader ought to be one of your lowest priorities to worry about instead of your neighbour constantly spying on you or the town mayor conspiring to have you hanged in the main square!
Not to mention the fact that no democratic country is an autocracy: leaders have staffs, they don't do anything alone.
