Just curious, but has Sals gotten any offers to join the Curse Network yet? I have seen lots of communities throughout the gaming realm being invited to join Curse Inc. For example, Zybez JUST got invited, and so Curse Inc. updated their whole site and now help run it for Zybez, the same has happened for all of these sites: World of Raids | Warhammer Alliance | Aion Source | Arena Junkies | FFXIV Core | Diablo Fans | Zybez Runescape Help

Sooo, im just curious if Sal's also gotten any invitations from Curse Inc. yet? I think its an awesome deal, and only top forum'ing communities can be invited. It would help us at Sal's a ton I believe.

But it depends if THEY want to invite us first and foremost does it not?

Second I hardly see how this would be beneficial to us in any method.

Well, true.

How does it help?
1. They cover costs of site and they upgrade it all to Javascript as well as program the homepage and do a sick skin of Sals.

2. We become a part of the Curse network, so Sals would get a CRAP LOAD of free advertising, since Sals is shown on the Curse site and all its network sites based in other game communities.

3. Everything will run much more smoothly since Sals' will have like a secondary support staff helping them out with the "technical" side of things, so it will also ease the work on the site admins.

4. The main page for Sals...in my opinion, is kind of old looking, and most, not all, but most people like new and nicer websites, that just look more maintained and professional. Curse makes everything just look so much nicer than what most community sites look like

Curse provides all of this and covers hosting, all you do is keep running your forums and keep adding content to the site that relates towards your communities' game. So ours is Runescape, and our job is to just get bigger and stay up-to-date with Runescape.

I like the idea of them paying for hosting, but dislike the fact that they'd be helping out.

As far as I can tell Salmoneus is going perfectly well, and doesn't need help.

He has been working on the new site and systems related for a few years now.

I personally wouldn't network with Zybez. They can't even maintain the status of a recognized fansite.

It doesn't necessarily mean he's having difficulty. So until Sal asks for help (publicly) I'm assuming he's getting along alright. tongue.gif

True, however their tech staff is quite strong. And they are no longer part of Jagex's affiliation cause Jagex was trying to buy them out, and because Zybez decline their offer they booted them from the list and banned their name again. slanty.gif

The current page for Sal's is simple; effective and still good-looking rolleyes.gif
I like it, it's also reasonably fast on dial-up too.

I'm pretty sure Sal is doing fine right now. After all, if he was having financial dealings with the website, wouldn't he do something/tell us about how we could help on the forums?

Why would this Curse Network want another RuneScape site to maintain?
