Have you checked if you can play it on your computer?
There is many codecs for MP4, like the well-known mobile-format H.264 and another called H.263.
Its just that you never know which codec you get from YouTube.
Most likely if it plays on your computer, you have to convert it into a fomrat that PSP is capable of reading.
On my own phone i also have issues with MP4 all because of codec, and same with .flv files.
Its about the uploader's format which Youtube converts.
Suggestion of video converter? You have many if you look around on the net, but one i have is Free Video Converter from Coyotesoft. Though the free version only does 1 file at a time, but has target-formats set to specific devices, with PSP profile and for iphone.

Also i would need something to download the video with if these programs don't work.

Try RealPlayer, it lets you download Youtube videos with ease, just a button popping up in your browser to click on.
You probably know where to get it..
While installing, you get a question about the webbrowser, enable it.
After installation you should have it ready to download.
After that you might need a FLV converter and MP4 converter. (The videos come in both MP4 and FLV files)
Then, again a software from Cyotesoft can help you.
Its called Free Flv Converter.

You're going to click the spinny circle thing > hover your mouse over the video > download and convert > select mpeg-4 > you'll need to enable converting > you'll need to download the program from the window that pops up > download that and then install it > hit download and convert again > let it download.
I just did that and now I've got this black box saying that it's converting. Let it run for a little and you'll get a popup that it's done. Let me try and open it real quick.

I tried Windows Media Player, VLC, iTunes, and Quicktime. I doubt it's your psp's fault.
It could be something with youtube. I know they've been taking measures to prevent downloads.

Yah, well it didn't work. There has to some way to download them though, right?
Also, this time it said corrupted data, not unsupported data, is that good or bad?
