A video has come up that looks like a trailer for Stellar Dawn. It is not confirmed to be real but it is very convincing.

Graphics and animation suck! It's exactly like "RuneScape in space"!
EDIT: Well, I guess the animations are better than RS, but the graphics aren't

This is Mechscape version six. Remember that MMG has decided to scrap a lot of stuff, and I think he is now trying to make Stellar Dawn look less like Runescape in space.

Noticing Java and Browser limitations on graphics, this game looks awesome but some elements have been re used from RuneScape.

Yeah, like combat. The only difference I can see between RS and MS/SD/13W is that the splats are different colors.

My first thought is that they really need to add some sort of horizon/mist/sky in place of just darkness off in the distance.

Could someone get a link to where Mod MMG confirmed this to be real? I can't find it, and I'm not so sure it is real, though if it isn't it's by far the best fake I've ever seen in my life... I would love to post this on my website if I was sure it was real and could prove it.
As for the video itself, assuming it's real, it looks like RuneScape SD with much better animation and more creativity with even simple things like doors. Of course, according to the comments on that video, it predates even RuneScape HD, so that's understandable. I just wish I had a current screenshot/vid. I just want to know what the game looks like, lol. Actually, I want a lot more than that, but that will do for a start...
EDIT: Nevermind, I just looked through every page of the topic about it on MSW (since that's where I figured the first confirmation would be) and I found it:

Besides the fact that the graphics seem to be more 'solid' (i.e. no gaps between squares), the only difference I can see is that there are spaceship levels.

Remember they scraped most of this version and are re doing it. The new version most likely will be different.

Yeah, Fabis from MechTopia downloaded it and hosted it on his server. You can watch it at his site
here or mine
here. I will be rehosting it soon so I don't keep using up his bandwidth, even though he gave me permission.

RuneScape in space.
Seriously.
Good thing they didn't release that thing. How did "JagexInsiders" get it anyway?

And there are loads more copies. I think most people on MSW have one.
MMG said they were trying to find out who it was that posted it. They also said they'd completely redone most of it. This was made before RS HD.

Not fake a mod confirmed it. They removed because it was never suppost to be released for public viewing.

That looks just like RS

Since this is obviously still in development, they will hopefully update the graphics by the time it gets released.

Yeah, that's what I figured after seeing the statement in Yippee's link.
Even in SD, the graphics and animations are still solid.

I'm supremely glad they've gone back to the drawing board. The concepts we saw were good, but only concepts, they now have the time to breathe new life into them. Also, whether it be intentional or not, they have feedback on some of the things, so they can use that when rebuilding. Sure, i want to play it, but I'd rather play something great than something that's just ok.

I'm sure that it wasn't it. They're talking so much about it and about the totally different game mechanic that from the posts I've read it can't be it.

http://mechtopia.net/board/index.php?showtopic=465I did, and I've actually already seen the video (on your site, there).
I merely found it amusing that Jagex copyright claimed it, didn't leave it open for viewing pleasure.
Way too much like Runescape, i know Java isn't a very mature language, it wouldn't hurt them to make a game in C or something?
Hopefully they change the font... all i have to say

Well, they're pretty much restricted to Java for now. Jagex stands for Java Gaming Experts (or at least it used to, some people say it changed), and Andrew Gower (creator and present Head of Mechscape and Head Programmer, if I'm not mistaken) knows the ins and outs of Java, not necessarily C. It's more worth it to continue doing Java than to learn another language all over again, even if Java's potential is smaller.
