Has anyone noticed the number of people in banks on rs advertising clans... They don't shut up, they can't be reasoned with, and there's a good possibility they're trying to steal passwords with Tk sites and so on. Most of the people playing rs aren't looking to join a clan honestly, and if they were they know where to go (the FORUMS!). So how do you guys feel about the increasing number of clan recruitment spammers; Should they go back to the fire chasm from whence they came! or stick around to flood chats in banks everywhere.

You're trying to reason with people playing RuneScape.

Let that sink in for a while.

I saw something similar to this at the Grand exchange, someone advertising a Merch clan. everyone was telling him to shut up, kinda funny tongue.gif

Because bots are more intelligent. They can do simple math.

I see two solutions to this situation.

  1. Suck it up and ignore the person. There's so many people talking in the Grand Exchange, it's maddening. Is it reasonable to tell people who are selling whips and other junk vocally to be quiet, especially when there's a big giant selling machine next to them?
  2. Hide your public chat. You don't have to see them, it's not like you're looking for a clan.

Yes, clan recruitment spammers are extremely annoying. Right click---->ignore. My ignore list is filed with them.

What he said. Nothing to cry about.

It's obvious why they turn to macros to advertise.. About 10% (completely made up fact, but it's probably very close to truth) of RuneScape's players use the forums, while the rest don't. Spamming it up ingame is going to get the message across to more people.

When I see someone spamming the screen with 'Join Smokin mils-make millions!' I start saying anti merching slogans and then other people join in and its good fun.

I tend to avoid the G.E. when it's on a crowded world plus I can't be bothered to put the spammers on my ignore or turn off my public chat.
Mad Dark
I don't care about them as long as I am not talking to a friend and I know that G.E is the worst place to talk to a friend happy.gif

Note: Merch clans need people to make profit, that's why there have been that much advertising recently.

Isn't that why they made the GE? so you could stay on a stranded world and sell things and not worry about getting in or spam? blink.gif

Most spammers are using an auto-spammer just report them for disruptive behavour.

I think I got 2 people from smokin hils or w.e banned or muted for awhile.
