So, I've got a Motorla Q9m (Verizon). Been a great phone up until recently when it has started locking up and freezing when I try to perform certain operations. For instance, at the end of a Bubble Breaker game, it locks up. Sometimes the Start menu freezes. File Manager always freezes, most icons from the Start menu will freeze when I try to open them, my Contacts menu freezes when I try to open it, after taking a picture the phone locks, and after Saving pictures it will freeze. The locks last for usually about ten seconds before, after pressing End a ridonkulous amont of times, the phone finally goes back to normal until I try to perform another operation. Sometimes the lock doesn't go away until I take out the phone's battery and restart it. I'm planning on taking it into the Verizon store in the next few days, but for now, anyone happen to know what the problem could be?

Have you tried reloading the OS? There might be a glitch somewhere in the OS that happened (corrupted file?).

I'm not very familiar with Motorola, I'm a BlackBerry/iPhone guy. I just know with BlackBerry that reloading the OS can help relieve some problems. I don't know the process with a Q9, though. It might not be as simple.

And have you installed any new applications/kept other ones running/done anything different when these symptoms started?

When the problems began to occur I immediately cleared out all my text messages, old pictures, old MMS messages, and all the songs from the phone, thinking it could be slowing down due to lack of memory or space. This did not fix it. Not a clue how to reload the OS, I'll let VZW handle that if that's what needs to be done. tongue.gif Keep in mind that I have not dropped, thrown, immersed in water, hooked up to a tesla coil, etc...These issues have occurred after normal use...

The problem is Windows Mobile. It wasn't made for human interaction.

Just do a wipe:
