Ooh! I remember seeing that handbook in a catalog that I received for bookfairs in my elementary school. Nope, don't have one because I thought they were silly!

3rd paragraph on the picture of the back of the book
"this handbook outlines everything about the free version of the game..."
even if i could find 1, not enough info to make it worth it

Didn't know it came with a poster though, is it just of the front cover?

You do know it tells you next to nothing, right? My mom made that same mistake, and last time, I threw it away, and she picked the best time to pull it out of the trash and tell my (apperently) now former anti-runescape freind.

No I doubt there's anything I could learn from it, it's only targeted at new players anyway.
I've always wondered what was in the money making guides though, because I could sum up all the best money making methods in 5 pages or less yet the guides are stretched out over 50 pages.

I bought a money making guide around the same time I bought the handbook >.>
It was basically: Get 50k by selling bananas to whatsisname, then flip lobsters. It is extremely out of date.
It also advertised an autotyper

The problem for a guide for an online game is that it is constantly evolving. Anyway, you can get a lot more information just off of the internet for free.

Old books and magazines, particularly those that have interesting posters in (mint condition only) tend to be excellent for investment over time as they are the only thing that are collected by the masses.
Comics are not just for kids anymore, and I used to have every X-Files from issue 1 right up to number 30, which are worth a pretty penny now, far more than I paid for them back then.
The first issue took everyone by surprise and no one knew it existed really, for such a popular show the magazine which was beuatifully drawn to add simply appeared one day as if it landed by way of alien craft. Lets just say that in the first 2 weeks after publication of the first issue dealers were paying 10x as much as the cover price!
I would say keep this Runescape book, if nothing else it will be an interesting read in 20 years and something to show the kids and if it only cost you pennies whats the point of worrying if you are happy with it? lol
This is an interesting article on how seemingly worthless magazines can be worth more than their weight in gold.

You need both the book and the poster together, preferably both in mint condition...is it that old story, if something is not bought by the masses it becomes rare...and thrown out...then becomes valuable over time like the
black swatch watches which could cost you many hundreds of pounds for a mint condition original

the poster is kinda cool becuase it looks like a old map from the 1600's but its a map of runescape. also who wants to see a few pages inside the book

please tell me if you want to see it becuase if there is anouth demand for people wanting to see it i will show its ugly face all over the world wide web

Do you think Jagex would ever think of creating a new version of the handbook? Perhaps including members features.
It'd probably be many times larger, since the 2006 one looks like a flimsy paperback. And there have been many updates since 2006.

That book make me angry. First, Jagex says that Runescape is 13+, yet they sell this in elementary book fairs? Second, it's value is approximately zilch. Nada. Nothing. No real information in it, and it would probably be easier to just go to the online manual.

about runescape being 13+ that was a PIGI rating. rember runescape was made in ENGLAND NOT AMERICA so ESRB has not rated runescape yet but if they did it would be a solid E 10+

The poster really doesn't seem that valuable.
It's no special content or anything. It's just the World Map Wallpaper blown up.
How big is the poster anyway?
I think I'd prefer one with something like the book cover art on it.

Neither of us said that. Jagex themselves have said the RuneScape is 13+. I'm going by the facts given, or could you prove that Jagex has said the 10 year olds can (legally) play RuneScape?
