My internet connection is normally 3mb/s, but for about the last two weeks the connection has slowed to 400-800kb/s.. I had a similar problem last June but I simply updated the firmware on my router and the connection went back to normal.
Well this time I tried multiple remedies and nothing happened, even broke out an unopened router my dad had stashed in his room he got on black friday for nothing.. still same issue, when I connect my computer directly to the modem, I get my normal connection speed, the people at Embarq can't detect any problems.. help?

Are you using DSL?
If so ring up your ISP and get them to do a line test (They will probably have you re enter your router settings, perfom some speed tests over 24/48 hours before they test your phone line for faults), We have a similar problem too, but our ISP say it's our router as BT's Line test came out clear (At the moment I'm just getting ISDN speeds)

Called up ISP two days ago, horrible customer support but whatever, this has something to do with my modems connection to the router I suppose, as it runs full speed with a direct connection but it goes to crap through both routers I've tried.
