So "FireFox 3.6 Beta 1" came out, just wondering if anyone knew this/likes it. I might go dig up the link to the download later. But I don't feel like finding it aging.

For me:
Spoiler: Click to Toggle the Spoiler.
For me, it's deprived of my Addons! My Mighty Addons! sad.gif So I'll probably stay away from it but, Pandora seems to work better on it and it's fun to play with. tongue.gif

So what do you think?

It's good to see that Mozilla are continuing to improve Firefox, but I doubt I'll be downloading the beta; as the link you gave says, it's only a very small update.

Honestly, the updates are negligible. Speed and security mainly. I am really waiting for 3.7, with jump list support in W7 biggrin.gif...

Anyways, this is only the beta... The alpha that I tried was fast, and tbh, I'm fine with 3.5.4.

I found that scrolling is becoming a slight problem....

I'm waiting for 3.7 for that new interface! biggrin.gif

I doubt I'm going to download Firefox 3.6 until it gets into late beta or release candidate. Or maybe not at all. lol

Actually, I'm using the interface right now, with Glasser enabled, and it is beautiful...

How I love Aero, if only it didn't slow down Vista so incredibly much by taking up 40,000kb of RAM pfft.gif...
Anyways, I'm not going to be getting it until RC or final release.
Me and Betas are... eeehh...
Though, the Ubuntu 9.10 Beta was epic.

I'll 1up your memory usage and counter it with 500,000KB of memory being used by Firefox.

I'm really hoping newer versions of FF fix memory leaks. If I've been using Firefox for say...4 hours (without closing) it gets to at least 400,000kb.

And dude 40,000KB is nothing. blink.gif Outlook uses twice the amount.

I've used firefox for RuneScape for hours on end (5 Hours of Green Dragon Hunting ftw?), and it didn't even hit 200kkb, on RS HD...
Oh yeah, don't you have a smaller computer with only 2gb of RAM though?

...
Anyways, I guess it is just you...

I've been using firefox for 30 minutes and it's up to: 201,180KB. And yes that's with 2GB ram. Memory usage is still under 50% though. pfft.gif

And it's probably all of the extensions I have doing it, too. It's pretty tricked out, not gonna lie. box.gif

Screen pl0x? I only have Glasser and 3.7 theme going...

And, for the record, I CANNOT get Vista under 30% CPU usage, even with only Explorer.exe running, and Aero off. Yes, it is THAT intense...

I've of course got adblock, weather, the tiny menu, firebug, mcafee, autofill stuff, switching to IE mode and some other stuff running in the background of firefox doing...I have no idea.

How did you get Firefox glass in fullscreen FF?
And holy crap red, I can't believe your poor 2GHz processor can handle all of that. Though, I don't remember if you have Duo core...

I got 2.26GHz Duo Core, with 4GB of DDR2 RAM @ 800MHz to back me up tongue.gif

2ghz pentium dual core. Tbh all these new 3.0ghz quad/octo-core processors are overkill really.

But yea I handle it fine. My computer is very responsive and I don't find myself every waiting for anything to load or whatever. Only place I have trouble in is gaming, but I manage. No, I don't want to hear about you and your "unstoppable" graphics card. rolleyes.gif

With Windows 7 it comes native full screen transparency, with Vista you need VistaGlazz and you need to patch your .msstyles.dll (I did it with Vista before upgrading).
Fruityfed
sup guys. i have 2.20GHZ pentium 4, 1GB of ram. what does this mean ._.

i figure this isn't really the topic for it but y'all are talking about it so ye.
Veni vidi vici
It's your processor speed, which, I hate to tell you, is...

In a nice way... Not very good.
Anymore questions, and you can PM me wink.gif
Or Bob-Sama, or Redmonke...

Oh yeah, have they fixed the issue with the scrollbar in the 3.6 beta... In the Alpha the scrollbar went up and down super fast...
~Vincent

I use the smooth scrolling addon or whatever. One of the best addons tbh. If they could implement that into firefox it would rock.

I'm also not a fan of the new theme. I like the 3.5 theme the best (with the big blue ball back button).
runescaperox254
I much prefer stable builds that don't have problems with extensions among other things. Also, QUAKe LIVe.

I'm going to stick to 3.6, there's no real point in using a beta version.

Can you even notice the difference between 2ghz and 2.26 ghz?

Actually, Quite. I've noticed a difference. My friends Mac @ 2GHz doesn't run as fast as my laptop @ 2.26GHz, but that might just be me...

@Redmonke:
That's... nothing. I use so many addons and I have 5 tabs up right now... Although I'm not even going to mess with the vista themes for XP.

FF is just turning into a little Google Chrome. And I admit I like the results. You can get something that looks like it, a very close make up of it with lots of Areo Glass effect and stylish + other stuff.

Looky....:
