^will work rite? for wireless/ just hope i can also connect internet normla (through DSL)

Games i want too play- Deus ex 1 and 2, sims 3, garrys mod 10,orange box, runescape tongue2.gif and internet would be nice doubt.gif I know about computer and everything its just that dell sometimes doesnt explain it too well =/

I just want too know if i dont get this 56K PCI Data/Fax Modem You have exceeded the number of PCI slots available. To fix this issue please remove one of the PCI options. it says that if i dont get the modem does that mean i can't use the internet, dell doesnt make much sense
edit: i have a Dell™ 1505 Wireless-N PCIe Card (802.11a/b/g/n Compliant) (Full Height) so that means i can connect wireless adn we have wireless just need to clareifiy since it be pointless too get a computer modem if i can connect wireless bleh.gif
Agent F
56K PCI Data/Fax Modem is a phone line connection, not a Wireless Local Area Connection like your Wireless-N PCIe Card uses. Unless you connect to the internet via dial-up, you won't need a 56k modem card attached to the computer. You don't need the 56k modem to connect to your wireless connection. The Wireless N PCI3 card does that for you.

The GT220 is one of the worst video cards ever. Especially for the price range. Memory wise there's nothing wrong with 2x2GB, it also has the advantage of being dual channel.

Any particular reason you don't want to build it yourself?
The Dragoon
what exaclty wrong with it.
causer i live in austrlia and its hard too get parts here
Caboose
It's basically a re-badged ancient card that they sell for three times it's worth.

And fair enough... imports not an option?
Veni vidi vici
GT220? Please no... Even at 1024MB...
You could easily replace it with a 9800GT or an 8800 GTX for the same price, and get better performance.

4850 or 9800 GTX+, take your pick, both are better. Or, if you are feeling saucy and have the extra $50/Win7, get a 5770.

Overkill. I'd just go with a 4650 since they're cheap (55 USD) and you can go crossfire with them.

Question is then, does the monitor support CF.

I don't generally see 4650s CF'd. I'd only recommend going CF (with 4770s) if you had XP/Vista and wanted something with as much power a 4890.

Memory isn't everything in video cards. =/
Anyway, the Gt220 is overpriced.

Actually, I have a NVIDIA GeForce 9600 (of course I'm saying that to brag), and my friend has a GT220. He can't even play RSHD.

You can play RSHD with an Intel 4500, why wouldn't you be able to play it with a GT220?

What are you implying about the 4500. madsing.gif

I do think people underestimate budget cards.
Veni vidi vici
No... It was a metaphor... He can't play it lag free. He lags quite a bit on his GT220, and he has a comparable computer to mine.

It's not complete garbage. pfft.gif
The Dragoon
so what this wont run sims 3 on high or COD 4 or gmod max ect?
EDIT:this card is also there would it be a better choich even though it has less memory ATI® Radeon™ HD 4350 512MB DDR2
Caboose
If you're looking at running any games at max you've got the whole wrong family of graphics cards. The 4350 is just a card you'd use for better HD Movie watching, it's incapable of running any games well enough.

Weird. I used to be able to play RSHD max settings (other than aa) with no lag at all. Everything was pretty smooth.
The Dragoon
so what i wont be able to play games at all? elabrate
Veni vidi vici
Oh dear, no. I'm just saying that a 9600 or a 9800 would be a much faster choice, for the same price.

You wouldn't be able to play, say, Crysis, unless you were on a medium setting.
The GT220 is fine though, if all you are playing is RS...
~Vincent
The Dragoon
thanks veni, im not looking for a computer to run crysis on max or anything for runscape, garrys mod, sims 3 ect. nothing on max. Thank you!

No online game will run well if your internet's shoddy (ie: mine). You can play Runescape HD quite easily on Intel x3100 or 4500M. No anti-aliasing, but to be honest it hardly matters. GMA900's a touch slow with weaker processors (IE: netbooks) to run HD on lower settings, but it can be done. Anyways; Intel x3100 or 4500 and most any recent nVidia or AMD IGP would be plenty to play RSHD with.

As for your other games, I'd suggest on a whole a Radeon HD 4650 or HD 4670. They're great cards for cheap; the specs look similar to the Radeon HD 3800 line, but they're quite optimized and a lot less expensive. nVidia has a bad habit of selling junk for extra. The GeForce 8600GT is a 47W card with just about the same exact specs as a GeForce 9500GT (which is a 50W card). In fact, most of the original 9500GT's ARE 8600GT's. Now, the 9500GT was rebadged quite quickly as the GeForce GT 120; it's 100% the same card with a new name and a new, higher, price. The prices keep increasing, the performance stays the same. And as was seen especially with the G92 debacle (GeForce 8800GT(S)-to-9800GT(X) rebadge), nVidia only released optimized drivers for the newest of the new, regardless of the fact that it was 99.5+% the same as the prior version. In short, as soon as GeForce 9800 was released, all of GeForce 8800 was ignored. Again, 99.5+% the same exact product, yet 9800 gets newer and better drivers optimizing it while ignoring its slightly-older twin brother...
