Okay so on the 7th of november, 2008, i suggested a skill - buffing. Today in sals chat, we were discussing the new skill, then someone said that jagex told in their youtube channel or something, that the new skill starts with a 'B'.

Now the interesting part. I went to official runescape forum, into Suggestions - Skill > High level content. And discovered that they have hidden my skill suggestion on page 18 (post 3). A rather strange coinsidence don't you think? It is the only post i found in that topic that has been hidden.

What did Buffing involve?

Umm, something like doing stuff in teams, new team-based spells/abilities. It's really hard for me to remember, was a year ago.

If it is congratulations!
If not, buffing seems like a good suggestion, however it seems too much like other games World of Warcraft etc.

A good suggestion but there's a 50/50 chance and maybe Jagex are being asses and deleting all the suggestion topics for fun.

Buffing, like temporary boosts in wow? That would be awesome to have that skill in the game, would add more variety to combat and other stuff.

No, Razorlike is referring to something Jagex stated.
I'd guess not though, because that was quite old and could easily have been Mobilising Armies.

It is definitely a hyperbole.

Re: "b..." - Since the "..." was added after the "b", highlighting that this wasn't a spontaneous slip up but more of a teasing joke, then, based on this alone, there's no reason to think that the new skill begins with "b" any more than any other letter. This could be disinformation! Plus, the comment might just as well have finished like, "...the new skill coming out is bETTER than any skill already in the game." or "...the new skill coming out is bEING tested more thoroughly than any other before it."

On the other hand, the hiding of your 2008 post, and the fact that Buffing certainly seems like a more likely new skill than many others that have been suggested since the last skill was released, point back to the possible reality of "b..." as a correct clue. I like detective stories, so, cool topic.

Or just have Engineering as a skill perhaps?

Jagex officially stated the new skill could be a game on its own, utilities a new game mechanic and is supposed to be the best skill yet. I think they also said it fits into the other skills.

Do you have a link or picture to where Jagex said it starts with B? If your skill is correct, nice job on finding it. Though could you explain a bi more in depth what it is? I still don't get Buffing

Anyway, to me, Buffing just sounds like potions. That's what Buffing would do, right? More accuracy, more power, immunity to poison, etc.

And could it really could be it's own game? I think so! Introducing a whole new game mechanic of going around in boats and such seems to fit. It would definitely help with fishing, crafting and construction skillwise, and it could provide transportation to places you want to go, depending on your skill level. Nothing new here

Buffing would be cool, but I don't really see it becoming it's own skill. We already have buffs through herby, summoning, lunar magic and pray, and debuffs through magic in general. Maybe instead of making a new skill, they will update a bunch of old ones, like the ones I've already said, and maybe enchanting weapons with perks.

1- I spit my drink on my laptop when I read "beard growing," so thanks for that. Awesome.

2- I could see it legitimately being Boating. That would help them with any of the interplanetary travel in MechScape (or Stellar Dawn, or whatever it's going to be).
I think they said, at some point, the new skill is a spin off of stuff they were working on for that.

You know how someone said something about the new skill a whole new game? What if MechScape was the new skill? I know it's not likely, but you never know...

I'm fairly sure this new skill is what was the main idea behind "Thirdscape", but that was scrapped as Jagex decided to integrate it as a new skill in Runescape. Jagex has said there will be things for f2p to do with it.

No, it was about the skill. I thought that for a while and I forget who corrected me. Go back and look at the hints, they all say skill, not minigame.

They wouldn't call it Buffing, as that is the 'slang' name for it.

They'd call it something like Enhancement, or i dunno... Prayer.
