If you want to test the censor, do it in your clan chat or your POH if you're a member. Also, just put the people you find annoying on your ignore list instead of risking yourself getting muted.
I agree there should be a "I am muted." QC though.

Unless it's been removed, there is already an option that states you can only use Quick Chat. When you get to the first screen, it should be there in the bottom right hand corner.
There's a subforum for things like this in the General Discussion forum under Everything Runescape.

Sure muted people should have the ability to quick chat the phrase: "I'm muted." or something like that. Why they get muted is another thing.

But i have a feeling that it would be over used. So maybe have it only available to people who are muted.

the whole point of being muted is so you learn the lesson and dont commit the offense again. quick chat is already good enough and if they devolpe it more, whats the point of being muted. you can say "i can only use quickchat"... isn't it obvious enough?

Yes! Please, add this option! Whenever I get muted, my friends are like.. "How long are you muted for??!?!" I can't answer that, now can I?

That seems a bit loose to me.
The point of being muted is to punish you, and protect you from saying things that will get you even
more muted, or worse.
Quick Chat already allows you to say a lot of things and gives you pretty much complete use of the game. Do you really need to tell your friends how long you're muted for?

If you want to tell your friends how long your muted for just change your clan name to however many days you are then tell them to join your clan?
OR you could just not play RuneScape while you are muted to avoid trying to answer questions...

Yes I think you should be able to say some thing like "Sorry im muted" or some thing along the lines of that. I saw a topic on the officail runescape forums about this guy that thought you should get a special emote showing your muted.
That topic was closed because it was flamed. HARD.

Can muted people even use Quick Chat? If they can, I think that defeats the purpose of a muting.

Contrary to popular belief, being muted isn't a punishment; It's a precaution taken to prevent any further damage from being done while they investigate the matter.
However, if you're muted you likely broke a rule and as such deserve any kind of negative effects that may come of it.

A mute in Runescape is just more or less a restriction of open-ended chat. If they are muted, it is a privilege they lost resulting in abusing that privilege.
Quick-chat on the other hand, was designed for those that are muted to still be able to communicate with other players (and with relative ease if you have experience with it). With someone being muted and using quick-chat, they are safe-guarded from committing the same offense.

Contrary to popular belief, being muted isn't a punishment;
So why is it given as a punishment like giving people a 3-day mute, and taking no further action after that?

Like everyone says, the "i can only use quickchat" states the obvious. after that your friends can glean information from you if they just ask yes/no questions.
