Simply, I am looking at possibly getting a MacBook, and I am wondering if it can run Spore decently on it.
This is what it says for the specs:
2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
2GB or 4GB of RAM (I'm going to choose 4GB of RAM)
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics card/chip
And this is what it says for the system requirements for Spore.
QUOTE
* Mac OS X 10.5.3 Leopard or higher
* Intel Core Duo Processor
* 1024 MB RAM
* (Space required on Hard Drive isn't an issue here)
* Video Card - ATI X1600 or NVidia 7300 GT with 128 MB of Video RAM, or Intel Integrated GMA X3100

For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires at least: an Intel Integrated Chipset GMA X3100 or Dual 2.0GHz CPUs, or 1.7GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent.

I'm almost sure it can run Spore, but the question is, is the graphics card/chip good enough to run it? As my current computer has a graphics card that can hardly even run Spore the way it is. slanty.gif
EDIT: If this is in the wrong forum, then a mod can move it.

Yep you should be able to run it at medium to maybe high settings. smile.gif

Spore isn't very demanding, you'll be able to handle it.

Yes, that can run it, but you can get the same thing on a PC, for almost half the price. With savings like that, you could customize the PC, and get maybe an 8800GTX...
That would be able to run spore at Max settings.
I have a similar configuration, but, if you want a Macbook, I'm not going to encourage you...

Wow, Medium to maybe High settings? That's amazing. wub.gif
My current laptop can hardly even handle the lowest settings on it. xd.gif

I would've gone for a PC only if I would've received a "no" for either this question, or I couldn't transfer my saved games over to a Mac from a PC. Thank you for the feedback though. smile.gif
I was planning on getting a MacBook Pro (13") until I saw that I could get a Macbook, and save $200.00 even with 4GB of RAM. ohmy.gif
I think this question has been answered, and maybe after I receive a little bit more feedback, a mod can close this.

You honestly must believe that there is only one correct way to do something.

Please take your arrogance off of Sal's.

MBs aren't exactly...well, good for anything in comparison to other pre-builds/custom builds.

MSI Winds can run OS X/multi-task/do school work/internet/Runescape for $300. The battery life is phenomenal and it is very portable.

Other 13.3"/15.4" laptop is cheaper/better. I'm sure you can look around on Newegg for something.

Custom Builds can be tailored to your needs, are a lot cheaper, and a lot better then any pre-built on the market.

However, you've purchased it so there is nothing more you can do. Owning a MB isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it isn't exactly a pleasant thing either. I suggest you learn to become fluent with OS X and its capabilities.

I have not bought it yet. And I do have some experience with OS X, and I honestly don't think it's too much of a transition from Windows to OS X, so I can use it just fine. Also, I will not get any of these "custom built/pre-built" computers, due to my own worries and opinions about them. I also am not going to build my own computer, because I do not want to go through the entire hassle of building it, and finding the parts and making sure they won't conflict with each other.
Also, that $300 computer will not even be able to run Spore at all, and I loath all Netbooks. dry.gif
The decision has been made, and mods, you can close this now.

The 8800 GTX is old (2006) and bad. sad.gif
