Runescape Relationships fall into one of four categories.

1. The Immature 12 year Old
This one is quite possible the funniest to watch, people who are involved in this kind of relationship are ones who will stand in the center of Varrock and yell out "sum1 b3 my g/f!?!?!1?111?!!!!?one?!?!/1?"
The real funny part to these "relationships" is that the moment that the girlfriend/ boyfriend do something the other doesn't like or if the boyfriend doesn't give something to the girlfriend, they break up. It's short lived and really pointless.

2. The New Way to Beg.
Well of course a relationship is all about gifts right? In these kinds of relationships often the boyfriend will have to give a certain item or give a certain sum of money or they will break up with them. Another very short lived and often funny relationship.

3. The Roleplay
This is a new one I have added to this. Really it's just role-playing you take on a certain part of your character and play it. It can be fun as role-playing is a means to tell a story, just try not to cyber. There is not much more that can be said about this.

4. The True Deal.
This one is very rare. In these relationships you meet someone while playing Runescape; you often start out as friends and just play the game together or do whatever you do with your friends. Eventually you get to know one another more, talking about whatever the subject maybe; religion is often a fun one. Then you ask for something outside of Runescape, e-mail, or myspace (It breaks the rules. ) and you learn more and more about them. In these relationships you need to the most careful because you cannot tell if the person is that girl she says she is or a 40-year old male. But if you discern it and find out to be truthful you talk to them a bit more... Eventually you end up liking them and you talk more in depth and ask for the telephone number. How it turns out is you both like each other and you are together.

i actually tryed it out by making a female character

then 3 mins into the game someone pmed me asking if i wanted to be their gf i said yes and in a couple of hours he gave me quite a lot of expensive stuff

so then i gave it back and logged out

so it is that easy which is the problem

This may be a good idea because once the Newspaper is going to be famous to everybody, people will eventually, hopefully understand how wrong is online dating.

The main problem is higher leveled accounts make weak girl accounts and ask strong guy accounts for cash. Loners like myself get extremely angry at the patheticness of it, if you want cash work for it, or sometimes people already have one. Personally the only time I see it as ok, IS IF you and the person are boy/girlfriend in reality.

I think online dates are immature, I think online girlfriends and such really does make the game more fun, but once it goes too far(eg: begging, finding out it's a guy... etc) it really becomes funny... I think it is fun to have a person online that really acknolages your existance, although there are downsides, Role play is what RS is for, especially for people like me that don't like to talk to people, neither girls nor guys...

Anyway, I don't really mind if people date online. Too many people have a sterotypical view on online dating and think that all forms of online dating is about a 10 year old guy who doesn't particularly want to work for his stuff, so he makes a female character and gets an online bf or it is about a 40 year old guy who likes children. This isn't always the case, there are people who find love other the internet, though somewhat rare, it exists. I don't really see how online dating is so bad, you meet people, you get know the person, and perhaps you meet. What is actually the "bad" thing about it is the peoeple who lie about their gender/age. I don't agree with online dating but I certainly don't see too much wrong about it. After all the only difference between online dating and irl dating is you don't actually see the person. And we all know personality>looks right? xD

I don't think RS or online dating is really dating, just for jokes. But if someone is serious about it, a role-playing game would be a seemingly perfect idea. But I would suggest, if you're serious, more made-for sites.

I must admit, I'd rather choose my real girlfriend over someone i met on Runescape, SWG, whatever. I (this is my personal opinion, if anyone takes offence, apologies) like to be able to really see the girl I'm going out with, speak to her using my lips (as in talking, nothing else, regardless of what you're thinking ) and know her.

imo, in-game dating is just like using an online dating site to find people to meet. Anyway, people are free to make choices like that, but runecape dating is an overall bad decision. That pretty much opens the gate for sexual predators, and most of the time you aren't really in love. You just feel like mooching off of someone for stuff, in exchange for giving them an ego boost.

Harrassing pre-teens for dating in Runescape is like making fun of a little boy for playing with a new G.I. Joe. It's completely harmless, fun for them, and is a stage they will eventually grow out of. Just because you didn't play with it doesn't mean you can knock someone who does.
