Dang, thanks for doing all of this... it took me a while to even read all of them... I did not know over 50% of these programs... well, if it's possible, you should add Notepad ++ to the HTML editors

The fact that he knows plenty of free software programs does not coincide with knowlege of computers or mean in any way that he knows how to use each one of them properly.

If online, http based, virus scanners count, you should add ewido, trendmicro's housecall, and panda online scanner. They're good for kids with parents that think installing a program means breaking the computer...

PS. GrandTheftGamer: Next time give me the URL rather than a link because I don't have to have 10 different windows open, and my computer isn't the fastest thing at the moment I gotta scan it.. I have at least 100 virusses I treated it really badly lately.

by saying that the windows programs "suck" is not saying much. how about you describe why the programs you listed are more beneficial then the ones provided on the Windows Operating System?

Windows apps don't suck that is like saying Mac apps suck. Windows Apps are coded with C++ or Objective C just like mac apps. It is more correct, to say Windows Sucks. Which is, after Vista comes out, 100% true. And if you want to get smart with me Agent F, for your information Vista is a copycat of Mac OS X. Gadgets = Dashboard the windows window switcher is just like mac but styled differently.

Windows XP defragger is slow as hell.

Xplorer2 Lite is faster and has many more features.

I am not arguing with you, i'm just wondering why people should listen to Codex if all he says is Windows sucks and spits out some other program. In his post above this one, he explains a little bit why these windows applications "suck" and that is why he provided alternate solutions to them.

I'm not saying that Windows is "da bomb" and it's the greatest thing ever. I just asked Codex to explan his reasoning more for me to have a reason to use the software he linked to.

Screw that, I'm not downloading that many programs, especially because my computer has 1 gig left

not even to scan the install files. Instead, when someone is interested in a program they scan it themselves, it's hard for 1 person to scan hundreds of files but it's easy for 1 person to scan 1 file.
I have some anti-spyware/virus/adware up there so you can use those to determine if it's a virus or not.
Also, I sort of left this board, so I have no reason to update it.
Go through it yourself and update it yourself if you're that concerned about other people, because frankly, I don't care.
And I'm not trying to earn myself another warn, I'm stressed.
