Alrighty... It seems like a lot of people don't like the current layout. It looks too much like its a free layout (which it is) or too much like its for a blog (which I think it might be ). Am I right?

Well we've decided to at least attempt to make our own custom layout. I'll cut out the boring parts of what I could say, and just get to the point: Post what you want the newpaper to look like. You can describe it or use images (make sure to link to your images, don't show them here.. unless they're tiny).

I think your looking for suggestions of people outside of the staff... but still....

I would suggest something that looks very professional, something that looks like your looking at CNN's or BBC's website.

Why profesional? I remember the old newspaper layout where it was displayed on something like a scroll. That was more Runescape-like. I thought it looked very cool and you could easily tell it was medieval and game related.

Well I think I shouldn't waste time actually making a good layout without looking at the basic concept. So what you're suggesting is something along the lines of this?

The only problem with this is we would then require more content because each of the section pages would look bad with content on them. We would need previews. Meaning that each section would need at least 3 or so articles, I'd say.

The scoll layout looks really good <3 I like it lots. How about a bit of Flummoxer uniqueness put into it?

I like the whole scroll thing going on. Very effective. The background o_O looks like melted cheese. The only thing I'd want different is the title. Maybe add some Runescape images too it? Possibly the image of Players reading a book? Or just anything to relate it to Runescape more. Otherwise I like the font used and the colour of the newspaper background and it prefer over professional and blog-like layouts.

Any chance you could find an image of an RS guy reading a book? I don't play, and I wouldn't know where to find one.

How about a skin selector? Not everyone here would approve of a RuneScape themed layout. We could have 2 choices of skins, the RuneScape one and the professional one.

See the links are at the top, we need a big space where "Hot Special Reports" are for the Letter from the Editor. Below that we have previews of the articles with pictures, banner at the top, links at the right.

Prash, IF its easy for me to code a buisness-style layout and the newspaper layout the same way, with the only difference being the CSS then a skin changer would be easy. But if I can't then a skin changer isnt really an option. And considering how different the two layouts are, I think it will be pretty difficult (if even possible).


Prash, you've got DreamWeaver, right? Do you (or does anyone else) have any idea if it can code CSS for you? If it can, I might get it (trial... ) and use it to code the pages.

Yeah the layout is boring and old. We are thinking of changing it and putting cooler pics and images.
