You can get into Canafis by completing the quest Priest in Peril, which unlocks the land of Morytania and it's wonderful scenery.  Heres the guide

Canafis is a wonderful place, which has a fair amount of quests, slayer dungeons.  But you could get killed very easily by doing idiotic things so here is the Sal's town guide to Canafis.
