Almost everyone who has played Runescape has been exposed to some sort of moderation. The problem is, it's sometimes taken way out of context. Many mutes/bans are fair, but many aren't, and I want to hear your stories of you being moderated for stupid reasons or overreactions! You can also post about when you said/did something stupid and got modded for it!

Only thing I ask is that you don't complain about the mods, from either here or RS. No names either!

I have been muted for 3 days because I said I was on crack.

I got my 2nd mute for saying 'nice stats' and then their name, which happened to nearly spell out the word for 'female dog' in numbers. Remind me not to compliment people in the future.

I think it was me bumping a thread on sals on my first week here because I didn't know about the 7 day rule... and the thread was on the first page...

I got a 1 day mute that was later taken off because I was talking to my friend about selling me his xbox 360 shortly after a conversation I had about selling him my zerker rings. apparently some snoopy snoop thought I was talking about trading my zerker rings for his 360 (wut?), jeblex read my appeal and found out that I wasn't RWTing or anything.

My cousin got banned for calling someone a noob. the 1.5 blackmarks he got for "offensive language" pushed him over into the red zone.

I once was muted for going into a monty python dialog..  "your mother was a hampster and your father smelt of elderberries!" and so on.

"white and proud" and got muted for a week.

Personally I've never been muted or banned.

lol, a few friends and I did the Monty Pyton Skit with the Frenchmen. We got to the " Unlaiden Swallow" before I got muted for 2 days for spamming or something like that. Imo, I think the mod liked his report button a little too much. Since 2 of my friends just watching were muted for a day for the same reason.

If you feel a mute was unfair, or that the moderator could have possibly misunderstood what you've said, I highly recommend you appeal it They DO check over appeals no matter what some people say They just often use pre-typed responses to save on time

Mistook adamant(g) items for rares when I was in my high level 30's, I was banned for four days for item scamming. Since the ban came a year after I was selling those, I thought I'd been hacked, so I sent in a hack appeal, epically getting declined, followed by epically locking my own account for a month.

Ban was on September 11th, 2007. If it were a person who's relatives died on that day, it'd make them all the more miserable.

He says I ain't spamming nothing.

3 Months later I get muted 2 days in a row

So I deranked him and he got PO'd.

Me and meh m8 was nicking seeds from the farmer in draynor, when this guy came up and kept letting the farmer out by opening the gate, and my my mate said "Go away you fat Gey boy, and he got muted for a week

He Screenied the convo, and right at the end was me going "I will laugh if you get muted" and, after seeing the screenie, I laughed for at least half hour.

I got muted for a week because I was mocking some guy impersonating JaGex staff by saying "Stop this is the JaGex police!"
