Unbeknownst to those who have lived above ground (humans), the land of Ulceron and its people (Ulcerites) have remained underground in the dark for ages. Humans have ruled on the surface for as long as history has been recorded, and during that time have developed a religion called Solorism. This religion dictates that the enemies of its god (Solor) have dwelled in the darkness below ground since they were banished there by Solor in the beginning. And indeed, it wouldn't be hard to believe seeing as many of the world's most feared monsters are located there. Few who go underground ever come back alive.

But even those who do manage to survive have never gone deep enough to come across the city of Ulceron. Recently, though, a great deal of earthquakes have shifted the earth and opened up a pathway between the underground city and the surface. Now, the Ulcerites take there first tentative steps into daylight... to be greated by the steel blades of humans. As you probably predicted, humans don't have the greatest opinion of the Ulcerites seeing as how they came from what is considered to the humans to be the unholy land. Humans are seeing the Ulcerites' migration to the surface as an invasion.

The Ulcerites have been managing to survive the human onslaught. They don't want ot go back underground. It is a place filled with terrible beasts constantly trying to devour them. It is a place where death is an everyday occurance and survival is the utmost concern. Until now, the Ulcerites have been trapped down there. To them, the surface is like a haven, and they're not about to give it up because some humans are trying to push them around. Humans have declared holy war on the Ulcerites, and they'll do whatever they can to rid their home of these unholy beasts. But the Ulcerites will do whatever they can to fight back.

Solorism
Solorism is a religion of many rules, ones which dictate how a person should ideally live their life. This religion has, unfortunately, always been abused. It is used by the Church of Solor as a means to gain its own end. The people of Omicron have always tried to live virtuous lives as dictated by their religion, but unfortunately are too naive to realize when they're being used by the Church. The Church has a complicated heirarchy, and at the very top is Archpriest Epsilon. The Elites are a group of holy knights that exist to serve the Church and do whatever it wishes. Currently, they are on their way to the west side of the continent to attack the Ulcerites. Solor, the god Solorans worship, is said to be omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. He is said to be able to control everyone's destiny but believes in free will so only controls one's destiny enough to give them the opportunities to become great. Whether they take the opportunity or not is up to them.

The RP takes place on a small continent called Omicron. Omicron is ruled by King Isaac. Like everyone else, he has been used by the Church. Unlike everyone else, he knows it. But he's afraid to challenge them for fear of them pitting the people against him. So when the Church orders him to send his army to fight the Ulcerites, he does it, despite it going against his better wishes. The east side of Omicron is covered in forests, hills, and plains. It is for the most part where humans are settled. In the center is where the capital city Daleth is located, and this is where the Church is. The king, however, is located in the trading city of Charl to the north, where he doesn't have to deal with the Church personally, coward that he is. The west side of the continent is a rocky desert, and towards the western-most part is the entrance to the city of Ulceron. Ulceron itself is a large cavern filled with small buildings that are easy to repair, because it's common for them to be destroyed by rampaging monsters. Ulceron is surrounded by tunnels that branch outward and downard into the ground. These tunnels are home to various monsters (dragons, giant bugs, trolls, werebats, etc.) that make snacks of the Ulcerites on a daily basis.

Magic in Omicron
Magic has no rules. It is not energy, and it is not the manipulation of energy or anything else. It is something that cannot be explained but must be felt to be understood. One can do whatever they can dream up with magic. Of course, there are limitations. First, a person's imagination has to be strong enough to dream up what they want to do with their magic. Second, their will has to be strong enough to be able to make what they dreamed up happen. And third, magic must be channeled through the user's body, so they must physically train their body to handle certain amounts of magic at once. Or else they'll get tired, sore, and weak or even spontaneously combust if they use too much magic.

You're missing an E in the title.

Name: Baskalla, the Lord of the Sun
Race: Ulcerite
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Appearance: Small for an Ulcerite, but covered head to toe in scars and bruises and places where chunks of flesh are missing.
Equipment: Two daggers that he rarely uses but are infinitely skilled with.
Special Powers/Abilities: Extemely crafty, not as sensitive to light as other Ulterians. Magic-user.
Backstory: Baskalla was taught from a young age that pain was weakness, and the only way to get past this weakness was through experience. So, Baskalla inflicted a great deal of pain on himself to increase his resistance to it; when they arrived at the surface, he was known to simply stare at the sun until he couldn't stand it anymore. He is a well-respected member of the Ulcerite army, but not well-liked.
Other:
Collects human weaponry and reforms it into his own creations, and is usually competant with the results, but prefers the two daggers that were given to him by his mother and father.

Gender: Male
Age: ~20
Appearance: Shorter then the average ulcerite, has blue cloudy eyes, but not as cloudy as most(meaning he has better sight)
Equipment: He wears leather studded robes and a crude staff
Special Powers/Abilities: Uses "dream" magic, meaning he can take your thoughts and dreams and make them come true, the good and the bad.
Backstory: Rah'ih was the child of a nomadic(always moved around) mother, and left her child in the main city to have a better life, there he learned magic himself, and when the entrence to the human world opened, he was one of the first to venture out.
Other: In combat he can use dream magic to scare his enemy with a nightmare, or if a friend is suffering, he can send them a good dream and a restful sleep. He is kind, but not the give everything away type of kind, he helps when he is needed, and no more.

All accepted! :(

Working on an IC at this moment. :D

EDIT: IC:

On the outskirts of camp, Lumino stood in the shadows of the rocks. Still as stone, he watched ever vigilantly. Not that he wouldn't have been so professional anyway, but right now was especially important. They were in the Rocky Desert, enemy territory. So far that night, there hadn't been any disturbances. But that had changed so suddenly it actually startled Lumino. Out of the dead silence of the night came the inhuman scream of an animal. He could've passed it off as a predator killing its prey, but it never hurt to be too safe.

Lumino went and woke his men, then signaled for them to sweep the area. The scream hadn't been too far off. Whatever it was, they'd probably be able to catch it. Lumino walked on, watchful as ever, in the direction the sound had come from with his crossbow drawn. He almost began to think whatever it was had already got away. Then his eyes fell on a group of shadows he could've sworn had moved. He stopped and stood still. He stared at the group of shadows, waiting for them to move again like he could've sworn they'd done before. They didn't. Lumino decided he'd fire at it anyway and slowly pointed his crossbow at the shadows.

There was a hiss, and then one of the shadows disappeared behind a rock so quick Lumino almost couldn't believe it. The crossbow bolt hit the rock where the shadow had been just a moment ago. Lumino ran over to the area to see a dead goat with chunks of flesh torn from it. He growled, then ran after the shadow he suspected to be an Ulcerite. He ran down the path he suspected the creature might go but didn't find it. He slowed to a walk. His men were nowhere to be seen at the moment, much to his annoyance. They should be here with him, fighting by his side and sharing his fate. Somehow their stupidity had lead them somewhere else.

He stopped dead in his tracks, swearing he had heard something. Then something large leapt from the shadows to try and tackle him. He turned and fired his crossbow at the creature. He heard a scream, and then was hit hard by something big. He hit the ground back-first, the creature on top. The creature screamed. He'd hit it. Then he rolled off him and tried crawling away. Lumino smiled. He stood up, then walked over to the creature and pinned it to the ground with his foot. The creature cried, "Mercy!" only a moment before it was shot between the eyes by Lumino's crossbow. He smiled agin, relishing the death of a monster.

Then he heard more sounds. They were the sounds of many creatures moving among the rocks. He looked up to see shadows moving a ways away, getting ever closer. They were coming to avenge their fallen brother. He grabbed the horn hanging on his belt and blew it, signaling to his men that he needed help. He knew he wouldn't be able to fend off all of them on his own. He notched another bolt in his crossbow and fired at one of the shadows. It fell to the ground. Then the first of them was too close to fire at, so he dropped his crossbow and drew his sword, simultaneously slicing the creature's neck with it. Then he swung at the next nearest one, but it blocked with its own sword.

Somewhere far away, Skulexander stood a few feet in front of his men. The thunderous roar of many humans' charging feet shook the ground beneath him. He drew his sword and waited for the humans to get close enough. Then, when they were, he swung at the nearest of them, chopping his head clean off. Humans and their soft spines. Another human thrust his spear at Skulexander, but the Ulcerite stepped out of the way and grabbed the spear's shaft. Then he pulled the human toward him and stabbed him in the chest. The human fell to the ground, and the life faded from his eyes. Skulexander shivered a little inside. He'd never be able to get used to the sight of death, and that's the way he wanted it to stay.

He blocked the swing of another human, then moved their weapon out of the way and struck at them. They blocked it and managed to swing at Skulexander and slice his leg. This human was more skilled than others he'd fought before. Not skilled enough, however, for Skulexander chopped off the human's arm, grabbed him by the head and pulled him closer, and stabbed him through the bottom of his jaw and into his brain, killing him. Skulexander looked back to see his men fending off the humans well enough. He saw one of them fall to the blade of a human. The sight enraged Skulexander. He was enraged at himself for not being able to do anything to help, and he wished his men were somewhere far away. He wished he could face the humans' alone, but he knew it could not be so. He saw a human stab at the back of one of his men with a spear and blocked it, then disarmed him, then stabbed him in the neck. His sword penatrated the throat and went out the back of his neck through the spine.

"I am Baskalla, champion of the Ulcerites! I will thwart you in the name of all that is good and just! Come forth, swine, and fight the Lord of your feeble Sun! Byahahahahahahaha!" A human growled and lunged forth with his spear, aiming to impale his throat while he was unleashing his battle call. Baskalla ducked away from the sound of the spear flying through the air and drew his latest creation, which was a human battleax made much lighter to suit Baskalla's fighting style. He smelled the sharp tang of the human's blade as he drew his sword, and heard his armored feet clanging against the ground as he charged Baskalla. "I admire your will, human. Too bad it's only enough to purchase a one-way ticket to the afterlife!" He yelled as he charged forward himself, his weapon raised. The smell of steel was below his nose level, which meant the human was going for a stab in his stomach; Baskalla answered this by smashing his weapon against the human's and pinning it beneath Baskalla's chest. The weapon bit into Baskalla's flesh, and he smiled widely, showing off his sharp teeth. "Die." He brought his battleaxe up and implanted it in the human's head, and his nose was suddenly overwhelmed with the smell of human blood. He retreated a bit, smiling when the smell of human blood remained dominant in the air.

He heard the collective steps of the humans approaching, fast. They were distinctive only in how loud they were; Ulcerites learned from a young age to tread softly. He figured now was the best time to try out a few new tricks, and he opened his eyes wide and drew out his two daggers. Colors and shapes burst into view, and Baskalla couldn't help laughing at his own skill. He now had sight, just as the humans had, and he planned on putting it to use. Even the smell of imminent human death was delicious.

Ooooh, this is going to be fun. :D

Name: Selena Goldckert
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Age: 22
Appearance: Long blond hair, piercing blue eyes, and a very beautiful face
Equipment: She always wears a smooth, beautiful black dress, even in the battlefield.
Special Powers/Abilities: A very powerful magic-user, to the point that she can cast immensely powerful spells with only a glance (Exaggerating, but she's still skilled in the art)
Backstory: At a very young age, Selena's parents were killed, after the Church found her innate talent with magic. Though she wasn't a holy knight, she was trained how to use her magic with only little effort. Like other expert magic-users, Selena can make the wind protect her, conjure blasts of fire, etc., but she also has the ability to make 'constructed spells,' either offensive or defensive, easily, though it takes days up to months to construct one. Selena is truly a very powerful opponent, having the power to kill twelve, highly-skilled Ulcerites, which were sent to kill her for aiding the army of the Church, within a few minutes. Because of this event, she earned the title, "Mistress of Magic." Unfortunately, the Church of Solor taught her to be... indifferent and made her believe that she was a human and, thus, have a demonic side. Selena was secretly sent on a mission to kill Skulexander, the Ulcerite presiding over the army of Ulcerites. Expert in military strategy.
Other: An emo-ish type of woman, but still profoundly dangerous. Selena barely feels any emotion and, even if she does sense one, those feelings fade swiftly. She has an almost unwavering faith on the Church of Solor.

I underlined the word "Almost" because you have the chance tot turn my character to your side, but I assure you that it's very hard.

If you accept my application, here's the IC.

=-=-=

Selena sighed, for no reason, as she stared impassively at the crackling fire in front of her. She threw another withered branch on her campfire, being careful enough not to make any smoke. Just a simple mistake, it might be the end of her and she would fail the Church of Solor. Somehow, despite the faith she had, she felt no emotion at the thought of failing the order.

Selena was impressed at the Archpriest's strategy in annihilating the force in the barren wasteland. Early that morning, as she descended into the Rocky Desert, she saw a small squadron of holy knights circling around a tall, rocky mountain that lay kilometers far from the force of Ulcerites. On the south of that particular mountain, where two rocky mountains stood near each other, she found a much bigger force of humans camping in between, waiting for something. She knew what they were waiting for.

The spies of Ulcerites would probably be reporting mass numbers of men moving behind the farthest mountain for days, when they were in reality just a diminutive group circling around. Out of panic, the enemy would send a big detachment, and when the large wing knows that the enemy were going to destroy the diversion, they would easily butcher the remaining men. It was better too split the enemy into two and crush the biggest part, depriving the smaller part of morale and hope.

Sighing again, she stood up and decided that she better get moving, since she wasn't tired. The wind lifted her hair, though she hardly noticed, as she whispered, "Skulexander is mine. No one will kill him but me."

Then, at her peripheral vision, she glimpsed a man about to fire an arrow. She whirled around quickly, putting up barriers of air. The arrow futilely hit nothing but compressed air. With an annoyed sigh, she mercilessly sent the man crashing into a tree. With a flick of her hand, the roots of the yew began to engulf him. She killed a holy knight, but it didn't matter, because her purpose and abilities were far expendable than his.

IC:

The dying fire crackled silently in the cold night air. A sharp steel blade was stuck in the ground by a sleeping mat where a man lay, it's sharp edge reflecting the moonlight. Manus opened his eyes sharply. In the distance, faint sounds of clashing steel and labored shouts could barely be heard.

Slowly, Manus sat up, wondering if it was just an illusion his mind was playing on him. But the sounds of battle never faded and Manus' curiosity overpowered him. He grabbed the hilt of his broadsword and lifted it, doing a little flourish before strapping the finely made blade to his belt. His steel kite shield lay propped up by a nearby tree, along with his haversack. He took his steel armor pieces which were hanging from a tree branch and strapped them onto various parts of his body.

He picked up his sleeping mat and stuffed it inside his dirty bag. He strapped his kite shield onto his back before kicking dirt into the fire to put it out. He carefully followed the sounds of battle, being careful of the dangerous terrain in these parts.

Gripping tightly her magic, Selena traveled to the source of the clashing swords. Towards south. It was already midnight, yet she felt no drowsiness, no weariness, just the sea of emptiness within her. Then, she halted sharply from her pace, at the sight of a silhouette moving in front of her. She called out impassively, "Who's there?"

Selena watched as the man turned around-maybe in surprise-and drew out his sword in response. The moonlight enabled her to see the stranger's countenance, and confirm that he was a human, not an Ulcerite. But there was something else about him; the man looked disturbingly familiar.

In the dim moonlight, Manus could see the figure of a woman in the direction he heard the call. She was pretty and wore a black dress, not a usual sight in these unlawful parts.

Probably some nobleman's daughter lost in the woods after wandering from a party.

"I'm just a mercenary. The name's Manus Gord. You may or may not have heard of me. Anyways, you shouldn't be out here miss. Tis' place is very dangerous."

"I see..." Selena's eyes regained its apathy, disregarding the man's dangerous nature-or reputation. She could handle him, if he dared attack. Instead of getting out of the place as Manus suggested, Selena walked past him gracefully, approaching the heart of the battle without any tinge of fear.

The Elites made it just in time to see several Ulcerites surrounding Lumino, and a bunch of their dead comrades piled up at his feet. One of the Elites, Charles, noted something in Lumino's eyes that greatly disturbed him. He didn't see rage, as he would've seen in almost any other man, or cold indifference as he would've seen in the occasional warrior. No. He saw glee. Lumino enjoyed sliding his blade into every Ulcerite's gut. He smiled when he saw the life fade from their eyes. He licked the blood from his blade as if it were candy.

Charles stood frozen in horror while his comrades rushed to Lumino's aid. They were blind to that which festered in Lumino's heart. But Charles refused to look away while this took place. But Charles had sworn to serve the will of Solor. But as he rushed to save Lumino, as he looked into his eyes, he had to wonder if this was what Solor wanted. And when he stuck his blade into the nearest Ulcerite's chest, he actually felt his heart sink a little. Lumino saw hesitation in Charles and made note of it. He would keep an eye on him.

Human and Ulcerite blade clashed, sending sparks flying. However, human blade was ripped from human's hands. The Ulcerite, who was called Daggerbite, punched the human in the jaw, causing him to fall to the ground. When the human regained his composure, he looked up to see the Ulcerite lifting his axe above his head. The human turn and began crawling away, then attempted to get up and run but tripped and fell face-first into the ground, smashing his nose.

He turned onto his back and looked up through involuntary tears to see the Ulcerite approach and raise his axe above his head again. There was fire in his eyes and a smile on his face. The human, scared more than he'd every been in his life, knew he couldn't escape, so he waited for death to embrace him. The Ulcerite was just about to strike when his arm was grabbed from behind. He turned to attack whoever it was but stopped when he saw it was Skulexander, who said, "Mercy, Daggerbite. When someone's life is in your hands, give them mercy. The others have sealed their fate by fighting us to the death, but this one is trying to keep his, and while it is in your hands, let him have it. It is dishonorable to kill a defenseless enemy, and even more so when they're only trying to escape. We should know this more than anyone. Let him go. There are other humans who are matters more pressing than him."

Skulexander left, and Daggerbite looked down on the human and eventually hesitatingly left after spitting at the human's feet. The human, Isaac, stood up and grabbed the sword of a nearby dead comrade. He bared it, and looked around for a target. He spotted an opening, but didn't take it. He was conflicted. On one hand, he should serve his king and fight the Ulcerites. It was his duty. On the other hand, they'd spared his life even when they shouldn't have, so he owed them in a way. He stood there, unable to do anything. But eventually, he decided he should serve his kingdom, and with sword in hand attacked a nearby Ulcerite, but was hesitant the entire time.

The woman saw the whole encounter, and it amused her. The Ulcerite's ideals contradicted what she believed in-it was unmistakably wrong. Before she'd totally entered the field of battle, Selena placed magical shields to prevent any Ulcerite from smelling her. The Elites that had seen her and tried to grab her, well, they were unfortunate enough to find their skulls split into half. Without hesitation, she followed the Ulcerite as he went deeper into the forest. Perfect.

Skulexander swung his blade at a charging human. It went through his armor and partway into his gut. Not enough to kill him, but definitely enough to make him scream. Skulexander pulled his blade from the man's gut to block his sword as he swung it downward at him. The man was strong, Skulexander noted as his sword gave way to that of the man's. The human's weapon even cut into Skulexander's shoulder.

Skulexander kicked the man in the chest, sending him backwards 'til he hit a large rock. The man swung at Skulexander, slicing his abdomen slightly. But he wasn't able to block Skulexander's sword as it bit into his chest, piercing his lung. Knowing he was about to drown in his own blood, and knowing he had nothing to lose anymore, the human lunged at Skulexander. He was impaled on the Ulcerite's sword, but he was also able to cut into his shoulder muscle, making his arm useless. The man smiled as the life faded from his eyes.

Skulexander pulled his sword from the dead human and silently praised the man's strength. He turned and went deeper into the Ulcerite ranks to get medical attention for his arm. When the shaman had healed it enough to stop the bleeding and make the arm usable again, he went back into battle, against the shaman's wishes, of course. When he was finished killing the current human, he turned to face another one. "I may not be able to smell you, human, for whatever reason, but I can still hear you. Why don't you attack me instead of just standing there, watching," he said to the human. He squinted at whoever it was to get a better look and continued. "Female? I've never seen a human female before. They aren't the ones usually participating in battle. I suppose you're special, then, to be doing so?"

OC: Right now, Skulexander and his men are fighting Omicron soldiers, which are the king's men. The Elites are a different group who serve the Church of Solor, and they're off fighting another group of Ulcerites somewhere else. Just so we're all clear on that subject, because I wasn't sure everyone was. Also, Skulexander's addressing your character, Baptist.

"I have no intention of harming you just yet, Ulcerite. I was ordered to kill you at sight, but since I'm kind at the moment, I have decided to escort you to the Church of Solor, where you will be punished and killed for your blasphemies." Selena said without emotion, staring at the creature's empty eyes. "Do not dare resist, or it will be excruciatingly unpleasant for you. I assure you that I can kill you on the spot with a mere glance, but that I won't do."

"Oh, it seems I've forgotten to introduce myself," she mockingly said, giving her best curtsy. "I am Selena Goldckert, commonly referred to as the Mistress of Magic. Now, follow me."
