But even those who do manage to survive have never gone deep enough to come across the city of Ulceron. Recently, though, a great deal of earthquakes have shifted the earth and opened up a pathway between the underground city and the surface. Now, the Ulcerites take there first tentative steps into daylight... to be greated by the steel blades of humans. As you probably predicted, humans don't have the greatest opinion of the Ulcerites seeing as how they came from what is considered to the humans to be the unholy land. Humans are seeing the Ulcerites' migration to the surface as an invasion.
The Ulcerites have been managing to survive the human onslaught. They don't want ot go back underground. It is a place filled with terrible beasts constantly trying to devour them. It is a place where death is an everyday occurance and survival is the utmost concern. Until now, the Ulcerites have been trapped down there. To them, the surface is like a haven, and they're not about to give it up because some humans are trying to push them around. Humans have declared holy war on the Ulcerites, and they'll do whatever they can to rid their home of these unholy beasts. But the Ulcerites will do whatever they can to fight back.
Solorism
Solorism is a religion of many rules, ones which dictate how a person should ideally live their life. This religion has, unfortunately, always been abused. It is used by the Church of Solor as a means to gain its own end. The people of Omicron have always tried to live virtuous lives as dictated by their religion, but unfortunately are too naive to realize when they're being used by the Church. The Church has a complicated heirarchy, and at the very top is Archpriest Epsilon. The Elites are a group of holy knights that exist to serve the Church and do whatever it wishes. Currently, they are on their way to the west side of the continent to attack the Ulcerites. Solor, the god Solorans worship, is said to be omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. He is said to be able to control everyone's destiny but believes in free will so only controls one's destiny enough to give them the opportunities to become great. Whether they take the opportunity or not is up to them.
The RP takes place on a small continent called Omicron. Omicron is ruled by King Isaac. Like everyone else, he has been used by the Church. Unlike everyone else, he knows it. But he's afraid to challenge them for fear of them pitting the people against him. So when the Church orders him to send his army to fight the Ulcerites, he does it, despite it going against his better wishes. The east side of Omicron is covered in forests, hills, and plains. It is for the most part where humans are settled. In the center is where the capital city Daleth is located, and this is where the Church is. The king, however, is located in the trading city of Charl to the north, where he doesn't have to deal with the Church personally, coward that he is. The west side of the continent is a rocky desert, and towards the western-most part is the entrance to the city of Ulceron. Ulceron itself is a large cavern filled with small buildings that are easy to repair, because it's common for them to be destroyed by rampaging monsters. Ulceron is surrounded by tunnels that branch outward and downard into the ground. These tunnels are home to various monsters (dragons, giant bugs, trolls, werebats, etc.) that make snacks of the Ulcerites on a daily basis.

Magic in Omicron
Magic has no rules. It is not energy, and it is not the manipulation of energy or anything else. It is something that cannot be explained but must be felt to be understood. One can do whatever they can dream up with magic. Of course, there are limitations. First, a person's imagination has to be strong enough to dream up what they want to do with their magic. Second, their will has to be strong enough to be able to make what they dreamed up happen. And third, magic must be channeled through the user's body, so they must physically train their body to handle certain amounts of magic at once. Or else they'll get tired, sore, and weak or even spontaneously combust if they use too much magic.
