It's a shame about the old forums though. Since I joined after that era was over, it's not a big deal to me, but I can understand some people being sad.

Why are we even talking about something so pointless as Macki, anyway? I mean, this is the guy that spent years figuring out that this place was not run as a democracy, after all. Y'know, seems like quite the waste of time.

That said, I miss the old forums a lot but in a way, it's not the greatest loss. I think all in all, I am more sad over all the other awesome topics that was lost long before the board was deleted because there were so much win on that forum, and even in the earlier years of this IPB forum that has sadly gotten pruned.
I think the things I miss the most was those massive threads where everyone got involved, whether it was a highly controversial Staff decision, some of the infamous entertainment clubs/threads, the flame wars, the drama threads, the very old-school debate room where everyone was allowed to discuss without treating it like a serious debate... Needless to say, so much win was lost, but on the bright side, much win is still stored here and there if one only goes digging.

I used to forum lurk without an account for ages then zapy convinced me to make an account, i know all sals gossip!

My history:

I briefly signed up for sals in approximately 2006 when I used the guides on the site, because at that time RSOF was members only. I then quit RS for a while.
I got membs for a year in 2007 (I think? Not sure), which re-sparked my interest in RS. Clan chats came out around that time too, so I entered sal's name (didn't know of anyone else with a good chat, and I still used guides from sals at that time), and I've been in sals chat pretty much ever since.
I quit after losing membs, and got it back in ~2010 or so. I was pretty active in sals chat, but only recently (2011) made another forum account.

Edit: Lol Benn0, I just watched that and I would agree with those statements if it was 2011 right now. I've been warned for the most minor things (I blame heb0 mostly, and yuanrang to a lesser extent)

Wow. Sals is very nostalgic lately. Anyway, I agree completely with Yuanrang. The best times of Sals were here on this forum. And those prunes really did delete a bunch of really great stuff. I remember the best of this forum. I've talked and personally lost several amazing topics that were pruned here. Oh well. So it goes. But I promise, the best of Sals was here on this forum.
