Lava Maze
Written By Gain Again
Original Guide By Un_t0uch Special Thanks To Simple013, kevinptn99, Numbskull33, Renegade3540, RuniteSlayer, Salmoneus, Mrcsupertrain, Neo Avatars, Bub5000, Djpailo The Lava Maze is located around level 38-40 wilderness, so be aware of Reventant Ghosts. There's quite a bit to do, you can train there, high alch there and you can open the infamous muddy chest. This is a quite good training place, as there are lesser demons in the center, and there isn't anyone most of the time.
Route 1 Pretty self explanatory, just walk up from Falador. This is the only freeplay route there is, the rest are members only. ![]() Route 2 Cast Ghorrock Teleport (Level 96 Ancient Magick) and run to the lava maze. ![]() Route 3 Cast Carrallangar teleport (Level 84 Ancient Magick) and run to the Lava Maze. ![]() Route 4 Cast Dareeyak Teleport (Level 78 Ancient Magick) and run to the Lava Maze. ![]() Route 5 Cast Dareeyak Teleport (Level 78 Ancient Magick), or run to the obelisk, and use it until you get to the right one. ![]() Route 6 From Falador, walk to Edgeville and make a Waka Canoe, canoe to the wilderness. Now just run to the maze. ![]() FreePlayers Walk to level 20 wilderness and cast any teleport, preferably Falador or Varrock if you want to make another trip. Or you could just walk back. Members If you want to get back, just run to level 30 wild and rub your glory to Edgeville. If you don't want to risk your glory, you can walk to level 20 wild and cast Paddewwa teleport (If you're on Ancient Magicks) go up the ladder, and you're in Edgeville. ![]() You can train quite a lot at the lava maze. You can train Prayer, Magic, Mining, Ranged and Combat. This makes it a great training spot. You can even make money!
![]() There is a wide range of monsters in the Lava Maze, varying from Black Knights (level 33) to Lesser Demons (level 82). This makes the Place perfect for combat training, as you can fight the lesser demons first and when you've got only about 15-20 hitpoints left, you go to weaker monsters. Be careful of Revenant Ghosts! ![]() Don't forget your knife or slashing weapon, as you'll need it to slash through the spider web blocking the way! Members have access to the Lava Maze dungeon, which is down the ladder (marked with 7 on the map above) Are a two shiny, sparkling RUNE rocks! You must have 85 mining for these. ![]() That's the ladder in the corner. Inside the Lava Maze is the Muddy Chest, which requires the Muddy Key to open. No, the muddy key isn't worth 300,000gp! It's only 5,000gp at height. Since nobody is wanting to sell you a muddy key for 5,000gp, you must go and get yourself one. The Muddy Key can be obtained by killing Chaos Dwarves, which drop a lot of other stuff. Chaos Dwarves are located here: ![]() As you can see, the chaos dwarfs spawn around level 33-37 wilderness. ![]() Also, you kill Chaos Dwarves here, at the Chaos Ridge: ![]() As always in the Wilderness, beware of Revenant Ghosts, waiting for an unsuspecting Miner to come by. ![]() Now, after some killing, you get a muddy key. And now? Get to the center of the Lava Maze and open the Muddy Chest. the chest contains:
I advise you to don't high-alch anything, as you'll only lose money. ![]() That stupid lesser was stalking me! ![]() Well, down the ladder are:
The Greater demons can be hallied, ranged or maged, and there are also some safespots. But most important: Rune Rocks (which almost nobody mines, mind you) You can hally the greater demons and fight the dragons while waiting for the ore to respawn. Note: Always bring anti-poison, because if a poison spider hits you, you're automatically poisoned. The fishing spot is just a Lava Eel fishing spot, one of the only 2 in the game. The second is in the Taverley Dungeon. Lava Eel fishing requires an Oily Fishing Rod and Fishing Bait. The oily rod is made during the Heroes' Quest. ![]() Those "circles" or ripples on the right of the above picture are the fishing spots. |
