New RuneScape Poll
31 March 2004 @ 8:55pm
Well, this month's poll is up and running. And to go with the recent release of RuneScape 2, it's a RS2-geared poll with a question about your favorite thing about RS2. If you have suggestions about a RuneScape poll, you can drop it off at the suggestions page. Also, the polls page has been changed a little bit once again because the text was still hard to read, but now I think it's good to go. It has the final results for poll number 6, which was the poll for March. The news from this month has been moved to the vault to make room for more RuneScape and site updates (and fun) for the next. RuneScape 2 guides are also planned to be released shortly.

RS2 Has Been Launched!
29 March 2004 @ 7:40pm
That's right, the real game is finally here after the 4 months of beta! And, here it is, right from Jagex...
It's finally here, the RS2 beta has ended. And you can start playing it for real! We have reset everyone's RS2 saves for the last time, so from now on all that you do and everything you gain in the new game will permanently affect your real character.
Here's how the launch works. We've changed the original plan slightly, so please read this carefully:

We have decided to copy your stats to both games. So you will have all your stats and abilities in both RS1 and RS2. You can play each game whenever you wish, using the same username/password. Skills you gain in one game will not affect the other game in any way. So if you're going to put some effort into levelling up we recommend you do so on the game you most want to stick with.

We have moved your items to RS2. So you will find all your armour/money etc. is all on your RS2 character, and you (currently) have no items on RS1. We can't just copy the items because it causes big problems with the economy if we do. However we will shortly be introducing a temporary webpage that lets you move items between the two games, so if you want to keep playing RS1 you will be able to move some or all of your items back. There will be a further news post explaining this in detail when it is ready. The only thing you need to bear in mind right now is that your items have NOT been duplicated. You only have one of each, so don't go throwing away items in RS2 that you might later want in RS1.

RS2 has been renamed to 'RuneScape'. This is to reflect that it is now the main RuneScape game. It is this main game which affects your hiscore, and this is where further updates and improvements will be focused. To play just press 'Play game' at the top of the main webpage.

RS1 has been renamed to RS-Classic and moved to it's own separate section. This will be brought back online later today if everything goes to plan. This is being kept as a bit of history so people can see what the game used to look like, and for players who prefer a simpler non-changing game. Take a look at the RS-Classic pages for more details.

Apart from that we hope you enjoy the new improved game! It's taken an incredible effort from everyone here to get it to this point, and we hope you enjoy playing it as much as we've enjoyed creating it

The Jagex Team
Well, now that you've read it, go play the game!

More RS2 Fixes
28 March 2004 @ 9:00pm
I know that this news is a day old already, but a friend of mine mentioned something to me about it. When was the last time Jagex updated RuneScape on a weekend? It was quite awhile ago, but I believe that the last time they updated on a weekend was when RuneScape 'broke...' So what does all this mean? I'm not quite sure yet, but RS2 must be on it's way and Jagex is now tidying up a few loose ends... or is that 'tying up a few loose ends?' Anyhow, there were about 5 fixes to the game yesterday (on the 27th), and the Duel Arena bank is now next to the hospital.

RS2 Updates & Website Info
26 March 2004 @ 7:30pm
Lately with the technical changes and big additions to RS2 such as a reduction of servers, the addition of Dueling, and now a change to the game to make it less laggy and now update faster (see the RuneScape website for more info), I think it's about time to come to a decision about having both RS1 and RS2 skill guides. Well, lately I've received several questions asking about RS2 skill guides and such, and rather than posting all of the questions separately, I'll answer it right here. Yes, there will be guides for each version of the game here on this website, with new RS2 guides coming out soon after the full release of the game. Most likely they will be on a separate page, much like they are now with a few tweaks to make them better. The reason I haven't brought any RS2 guides out yet is because sometimes things change during a beta, like experience and levels and I just want them to be accurate the first time. :)

Tips, Questions & Various Updates
20 March 2004 @ 8:30pm
Today I finally updated the Player Questions and Player Tips sections with many more submissions from the past month. The Dictionary page has also been updated with several new words that I had forgotten to add until now, and hopefully they will help new visitors out even more. As of now there are around 84 words! I fixed the table on the Polls page since the colors made it hard to read, and on one of the results pages I fixed a type-o in the total results, and in another I reordered the results.

Slight Updates
18 March 2004 @ 10:00pm
Just some small updates to the site today. I fixed some problems with the site displaying strangely in different screen resolutions. Fixed some info in a couple guides that I messed up when the site got switched over to the new design too.

Version 3 is Here!
15 March 2004 @ 6:45pm
Yep, another new version of the site is here, completely changed with a new and fresh design. For the last month and some odd days people have been asking me to fix the design flaw in the site... the text was barely readable on some browsers/ computers! Well, I tried several different things to try and keep the old design, but in the end I went with a simpler and 'less busy' design. Most of the content of the site is the same, but if you look around there have been small tweaks to almost all of the pages. Anyways, hopefully pages will load faster and the text will be easier to read (which was my main concern). As with most designs, this one probably isn't perfect, so any feedback is welcome to help make the site even better.

More RS2 Screenies Added!
7 March 2004 @ 7:27pm
Well, I added a few more screenshots of various places and things in the RS2 Beta to the RS2 Pictures page. This includes pictures of Catherby and one of the new actions in the game, among other things. I also fixed a link to the RS1 Archives that was broken (oops) on one page, but not on any of the others.

Various Fixes
6 March 2004 @ 4:13pm
Like the title implies, there have been a few fixes to the site. For some reason info was missing from the steel section of the Smithing Guide, so I added it in. Fixed some info in a couple guides, and I moved all the old news from last month into the news vault. I also changed the player tips page so that it's just one big table, rather than several smaller ones. Finally, I added the latest tips and questions to the submission pages.
