Classic Crafting:
Pottery, Leather & Jewelry Crafting is both a profitable and useful skill in RuneScape. This part of the guide explains the basic parts of crafting, including pottery, leather making, and making jewelry. The second part explains crafting glass and making Battle Staffs.
A great way to start of crafting is to make pottery, as it is really quite simple, and it gives plenty of experience.
Crafting leather is another good way to begin crafting. It is just as easy to do as making pottery, but you will need some money to get started.
After you are a bit more advanced at crafting, it's time to move on to better things: jewelry. Jewelry can make a huge profit, and it gives lots of experience. Since this is a huge part of crafting, this section is split up into several sections.
For each kind of jewelry you make, you will need several things to get started. Most of the tools can be bought at your local Crafting Shop in Al Kharid or Rimmington. Necessities
To begin making jewelry, use a bar of either Silver or Gold with a furnace. This will bring up a menu of choices, depending on the metal you are using. Once you become more experienced in crafting, you can put gems in your jewelry. This makes it more valuable, and gives even more experience. To put a gem in your jewelry you need to first cut it, and then select "yes" to put a gem in it while making your gold jewelry. You can sell them to the Gem Trader in Al Kharid or Falador.
Rings have no particular use in the game, and they are basically useless. They cannot be worn, and their main use is to be sold or given as gifts to friends. The jeweler in Port Sarim will buy them from you for a decent amount of money too.
Necklaces are close to useless items, which are only meant to look expensive. They are worth more than rings, and can also be sold to the Jeweler in Port Sarim.
Amulets are one of the most valuable items that you can craft. They can sell for lots of money, and can be Enchanted. This makes the special power of the amulet surface, as well as increasing the value.
Holy Symbols are powerful icons, crafted to honor the god, Saradomin. When both blessed and worn, they will slow the drain rate of your prayers.
Once you craft your Holy symbol, you can have Brother Jared, the "head-monk" of the monastery bless it for you. He will be upstairs, so you need to have at least 31 prayer to climb the ladder. Whenever you wear it, your prayers will last longer. Stringing Amulets & Holy Symbols
Enchanting an amulet will give a bonus when you are wearing it, depending on the kind of amulets you are enchanting. you need to first gather the correct Runes to cast the spell. Once you use the correct spell with the amulet, it's powered up.
Dragonstone Amulets Dragonstone Amulets are very powerful and valuable amulets, which are available only to Members. They not only increase your equipment stats, as stated above, but they increase your chance of finding gems while you mine. They also allow you to teleport to Edgeville, Karamja, Draynor Village, and Al Kharid. When it runs out of charges, you can power it back up by using it with the Fountain of Hero's, in the Hero Guild. |
