Sal's Realm of RuneScape
Classic Firemaking

Firemaking is a simple but important skill in RuneScape that might mean the difference between a hot meal and a brush with Death himself. What better way to cook a meal, than over a toasty fire?

Building a Fire

Building a fire is fairly easy, but you will probably need a little practice at first. Before you start, you just need a few items to get started, and then you're good to go.

Essential Firemaking Items

  • mithril hatchet A Hatchet - any kind is good, but the better the axe, the easier the trees will chop.

  • tinderbox A Tinderbox - How else will you light a fire? Bought at your local General Store.

  • logs Some Logs - Can't make a fire without these. With a hatchet in your inventory, just click on a tree to chop it down.

How to Make a Fire

Once you've gotten all of your items together, drop the logs (no one will be able to see them for 1 minute). Continue using your tinderbox with the logs on the ground until the fire catches. It may take several tries, but remember that as you gain experience, it will get easier.

An Illustrated Guide
