Sal's Realm of RuneScape
Classic Fishing

Fishing is a skill that relies on cooking most of the time, since you need to cook the fish in order to eat it. This is also a fun skill, since there is a huge variety of fish to catch, and countless places where you can fish for them.

Of course, there are several kinds of lures and baits, as well as other tools for catching fish, and even a mini-game for Members!

The Basics

To start catching fish, you will probably want to buy a fishing tool, such as a net orfishing in the ocean fishing rod, and a lure if needed. The fishing shop in Port Sarim has all the basic fishing equipment you will need to start out, but the one in Catherby has the Members' stuff.

Depending on the fish that you want to catch, find the correct spot to fish for it. Refer to the "Fish" chart below for more info. Then, click on the sparkling fishing spot in the water to try and catch a fish. You may need to right-click the area to catch the fish.

Non-Cookable Things

When fishing with a Big Net, sometimes you can catch items that aren't able to be cooked. Most of the time, these items can be discarded without thinking twice. But sometimes, they can hold a surprise!

The Fish

Of course, we can't forget the main part of fishing: the fish! Fish is the main way of healing your hits quickly, and many people rely on a good fisherman to provide them with quick food. If you become a great fisherman, this could be a great way to get money.

  • All italicized foods are Members-Only.

  • Lava Eels never burn for some reason. Maybe because they live in fire/lava?
