Classic Prayer
Even when you're facing the strongest of foes, prayer can
give you a big advantage in combat. This is a difficult skill to level
up, but it's really worth it. Whether you are fighting someone in the Wilderness,
or trying to defeat the vicious Black Demons, prayer can come in handy.
Prayer Basics
Praying to the gods of RuneScape will temporarily enhance
your fighting skills, or protect you from harm. You need to bury bones to
increase your prayer level, giving you the ability to use more prayers, and
make them last longer.
You can find your prayer list by hovering over the red spell
book, and clicking on the "Prayers" tab. There is a color code to using prayers,
telling you if you can use a prayer or not.
- White - means that you've devoted
enough time (and you're a high enough level) to use the prayer.
- Green - a sign from the gods, saying
that you are using the prayer. Your prayer points will drain until you click
it again to stop using it.
- Black - you can't use the prayer until you become a high enough
level.
Bones
You can probably find bones by taking a walk through Lumbridge,
but the best way to get them would be to kill an enemy. Many of your foes
in RuneScape drop bones, but some don't, and different kinds of bones can
be dropped.

Notes:
- Regular bones are dropped by most monsters. Big bones are dropped by
all flavors of giants.
- Bat bones are dropped by bats (Member's-Only).
- Dragon Bones are also Members-Only and are dropped by dragons such as
the K.B.D. (King Black Dragon).
The Prayers
There are numerous prayers that can help you by temporarily
making you stronger, making you heal faster, or even protecting you from getting
attacked by rangers. The drain rate for each prayer is different-- some drain
faster than others. Using multiple prayers also makes your prayer run out
faster too.

Notes:
- Paralyze Monster will only affect monsters, not other players
in the game.
- Protect From Missiles also protects from magic attacks.

Some items in RuneScape can raise your prayer power (not level),
which causes your prayer to drain slower than it normally would.
