August 2004 Q&A's (Part 2)
The second half of the submissions I got during August. Rayman520
Q: hey great site and great quest walkthroughs I as wandering how i get my herblore up im only level 3 and just completed the druidic ritual quest. A: The best way to level your Herblore up would be to make lots of Attack Potions, drinking them as you make them (unless you need them). This cuts down on buying vials, and since you can find Guam leaves by killing men and Druids, and you can buy the Eye of Newt in the Herblore Shop, you'll level up in no time. Sum41Freeek Q: Hey Sal, I have a few questions.. 1. A Beret
is just a fancy French hat that comes from completing a Treasure Trail. It
gives no added bonuses and it just looks stylish. Since it's a rare item
right now, people will be selling them for huge amounts of cash but the
price will most likely drop in several months. Loboomboom Q: I want to become a member but my dad says there's a security risk, or in other words is becoming a member safe? A: Of course becoming a member is safe! RuneScape uses SSL (secure socket layers) when you use any of their secure services to keep anyone else from seeing what's going on between their site and your computer. It basically jumbles up all the info making it very difficult for anyone other than you to read. I've been a Member since just after the service was released, and everything's been fine. Richy Q: what do u do with the blank runes that u dig up in a place u get teleported when u do the wizards quest? A: You bring those "Blank Runes," also known as Rune Essence, to a Rune Altar so that you can craft them into useable Runes. Come Update Me Q: Will the freeservers ever have a big update??? like members get huge quest and cool updates every 4 seconds! its not fair, at least jagex should update free servers once in a while :*( , ( runescape2 update didn't count) A: I'm not quite sure about any big update, but most likely if any other skills are released into the game (like the much-awaited-for Carpentry), Free-Players may get a part of the skill, like RuneCrafting. But don't quote me on this, I'm not completely sure. :) 123 go go go Q: Is it only members can be mods? A: I'm not completely sure, but I think that Free-Players can be Mods as well. Jagex only picks people that they" trust" to be a good mod, but I'm not on that "good" list I suppose. In other words, I'm not a mod, but it would be cool if I was, wouldn't it? Yo Wassup Q: errm. in members does dragon legs, dragon chain, and dragon scimmy, do they actually exist? and if they do, can u have a tip thingy on them, and all the other armor in RuneScape??? (nice site) A: No, these Dragon items don't yet exist in RuneScape, but according to Jagex they'll be released in time. Jonno Q: Salmoneus, since more and more clues on treasure trails are found, shouldnt trimmed, gilded and god armor be more common, so in the future be cheaper? Which would lead many people to lose money wont they? since its getting cheaper and more common ( i have one full zammy armor with kite and im worried) A: Yes, sadly (for some) as these things become more common the price will decrease. The price has actually gone down since they were first released, but there's a point where they will stay at the same price, so hopefully the price won't decrease much more. Davidsib123 Q: hi sal, this is a great website by the way. im lvl 14 and i just wanted to know if i can do the dragon slayer quest? A: The Dragon Slayer quest may be too difficult to accomplish at level 14. The dragon is a rather high level, but it's easier to defeat it in RuneScape (than RSC), since you can eat during battle. I'd recommend you to be at least level 35, but bring lots of food either way. Sam Q: When is there going to be every skill covered on this website? A: More skill guides are coming soon, I've just been trying to catch up on long-awaited quest guides, along with some other interesting stuff for the site. Susaneallin Q: Hey Salmoneus, A: I'm actually in the Black Arm Gang, but only because when I first started the game and quest I had no idea where the Pheonix HQ was. Andrew Q: hey there, this is my first time to this site, but i was wondering, is it true that it you kill a very strong monster on a holiday it will drop a valuable item, as in santa hat, bunny ears, stuff like that? if not, do you know where they might appear next Halloween? A: No, monsters have never dropped holiday items, even on holidays. I can tell you that if holiday items are dropped again, they'll be dropped throughout RuneScape at random times. Hunter x69 Q: If I were to be a member for, say a month, and get a member-only item, then cancel my membership, what would happen to said member-only item? A: You're members-only item would still be there, but you wouldn't be able to use it. It would instead say "Members Item," or something of that nature until you upgrade back to Members. Puccari Q: Hey, I know this question may sound 'newbish' but I was wondering which items can be traded to non members, that are only attainable by members... Nice webbie btw. A: Anything from a Member's Treasure Trail can be traded to Free Play, including the trimmed armors and berets. Doctafunk Q: wasup wasup wasup. i was just wandering... is there anyway i can submit my screen shot to the RuneScape website? well peace out homesbro. A: I'm not sure if Jagex will take your screenshots, but you can always ask support if you can send them a link to the pics or something. Lolpop Q: hey, sal, can i beat evlarg with a rune long, steel pl8body, addy legs, addy full helm, anti dragon shield, and alot like umm, 20 lobbies? A: What's with everyone asking about the dragon (just kidding)? Anyhow, most likely if you have high enough stats to wear Adamantite, you'll have a good shot at killing the Dragon. Yoyo Master Q: How do you get the bank key? A: Ahh, the bank key to the bank in west Varrock I'm guessing? There's actually no key to open the gate to get all of those goodies. The only way to get them is by Tele-Grabbing them. Keeperofwar Q: yes nice site...very well kept......I want to know how to kill so I can get my revenge on those who killed me.....ps. I jus want my revenge.... A: Well, I was never really a good PKer, but there are some good tricks. If they're stronger than you, you can either train to be better than them, or get a few good friends together. Stalk them and just when they least expect it, attack! Ok, so maybe I'm not that good at thinking up plans to get revenge, but you could always try the: log in with a low level character, talk to him, log out and log in with your higher level character and kill him. ;) Fishersmith Q: hi, im wondering if you have to be a member to play any of the mini games like the fishing trawler or whatever it's called. A: Yes, the mini-games in RuneScape are Members only, since they're found in Members-Only places in the game. Mr Scippy Q: Hi I was wondering could you tell me a place to train for a level 27 please. A: You could try training at the Dark Wizards south of Varrock, but if their magic is getting in the way you can try training on Guards. Psds Q: I cannot find Nurmof's Pickaxe Shop. Can it still be found in Runescape? Or where else can you buy a pickaxe? Great site btw! A: The pickaxe shop is still in the Dwarven Mines, west of the entrance to the mines. Just head south from the ladder, and then southwest through the general store to find the shop. VivianxBlack Q: I was just wondering where exactly you can find necromancers...and what level are they at? A: Necromancers are found in the Necromancer temple just south of Ardougne, and they're level 29. Spooksniper Q: What can you do with fur and silk? Is there any point to them? A: Fur and Silk have no real purpose other than to be sold to shops. Wigglywoo! Q: wat is the fastest way to raise my smithing lv i can make upto
steel war hammers but i cant seem to raise it much A: The best way to level up your smithing would be to mine lots of iron, and buy the coal for your steel bars, if you don't mind using some cash. This will cut the time to about a third or less, since you don't need to mine the coal, and you'll level faster. The Knight's Sword Quest also gives smithing experience. Cruzy1011 Q: Hi, When i play RuneScape i find that when i get sumthing that costs alot like Mithril armour it only sells bout 1.5k when i sell it in the general store when its bout 2.9k how do i get more money for it??? A: You need to sell the items to the specialized store to get the most cash from it. Swords will sell for the most at Sword shops, plate mail will sell best at plait mail shops. Killa Dude Q: wats the best way to raise my mining and smithing? i am lvl 51 mining and 44 smithing, i want to mine and smith mith. i cant seem to find a fast way to gain exp. Thanks again! A: The best way to level your mining and smithing at your level would be to make steel. Mine the iron from near Varrock, and the coal from the Dwarven Mines. There really isn't any quick way to level up your mining and smithing anymore in Runescape. Darkspider45 Q: Can you earn more from mining or woodcutting? A: You can probably earn more cash from mining, since people will buy ores for lots of money. Finally im lv 60 mining (turned on august 16 2004) Q: when u take a screenshot of runescape where do the pics go cuz i know where my other screenshot(other game)go but where do rs shots go? A: when you take a screenshot of RuneScape, it's saved in the Computer's memory. You need to paste the picture into a graphics program like Paint so that you can see it. Check the Taking Screenshots guide for more info. Basod Q: You site is the BEST Runescape fan site ever from what I have scoured through across google!!!! I've been playing for 3 days and I'm loving every second of it. I was thinking of starting some kind of clan with my mates. Any tips? A: Having a clan is a great idea, just make sure that it's for a good purpose. Post on forums to get the clan well-known. If your clan is centered around a specific skill like combat or fishing, it may be a good idea to work on that skill, since people will take your clan more seriously. There's probably more, but this would be a great idea to write a guide on. :) Mr. Capone Q: I've noticed a NPC in Draynor selling Toy Horses. What are they good for? Thanks! A: As far as I know, Toy Horses have no purpose in the game, but some people think that they'll be taken out of the game, causing the horses to be 'rare,' but I think that they're just for fun. |
