February-March 2005 Q&A's
All of these Q&A's are from February and March 2005. swordhunt110 A: Certs are only available in RuneScape Classic. When you had enough of an item you would speak to one of the certificate merchants in Draynor Village to have them exchanged for certs. Certs have been replaced with Bank Notes in RuneScape. Rusty Nail A: You most likely saw the person carrying what is known as a Granite Maul. You can only get 1 from Gargoyles and Nechryaels, both Slayer monsters (or from trading another player). Arcticomega A: Well, I think that any of the Slayer dungeons would have to be the creepiest places in RuneScape, as there are all sorts of odd-looking and dangerous monsters there. =P Gruntastic1 A: Well, you could always join the forum and become an active member. :) Submitting missing guides to the site is also a great way to help out. Vran4 A: Dragon Scimitars can be bought from Daga's Scimitar Shop located on Ape Atoll. Abyssal Whips and Granite Mauls are both dropped by Slayer monsters. You can get an Abyssal Whip from an Abyssal Demon, and a Granite maul from either Gargoyles or Nechryaels. Kynred0 A: Canifis is just northeast of Varrock. You need to complete the Pries in Peril Quest before you can get there. Enmoranay A: Currently there isn't a shop where you can buy spears. Instead you need to kill monsters for them, or trade from other players. Dragonsord90 A: If there's an "X" in the top corner, it means that your Java is not working (or isn't installed). You should go to the Java website and get the download for your computer. After installing it, restart your computer and RuneScape should now load. PinkFloydBoy A: If you can't get the plugin from within the browser, just try going to the Java website (in the above question) and getting the plugin from there. Some Dude A: you can check your stat points from the stat menu in RuneScape. It's at the bottom of the menu and should tell you how many points you currently have. Kell A: You can buy a Dragon Longsword from a man in the Lost City of Zanaris. You must first complete the Lost City Quest, and then you need a Diamond to enter the room to buy the sword. Trumpet God A: An autominer is a program that supposedly mines for you. You would set it up on your computer, tell it what ores to mine and it would "auto-magically" mine for you. Some claim to power mine, others deposit the ores in your bank. Most are fake, however and are almost always backdoor trojans that will keylog your computer and steal your account (along with anything else of importance). I strongly suggest NOT to download it. Shraiker13 A: No, the only way that you could Get a holiday item would be from the actual drop on that day. Monsters would not drop them, they would instead appear on the ground. The only way to get 1 of those items now would be to buy them from another player.
Burn 619 A: No, you shouldn't give him your password. Jagex will not ask for your password EVER! They only contact you from your message center, for one thing. Since they didn't have a crown next to their name, they obviously weren't a moderator, so don't even pay attention to him (in fact, you should have reported him). Leatherqueen A: Yes, Treasure Trails are members only. The reason you can't bring any armor to Entrana is because the monks are peaceful, and they don't want any fighting going on in their island. :-) Nathan2000 A: Well first you need to click on the sextant. Use the up and down arrows first to get the horizon in the center of it, and then use the left and right arrows to move the sun into other middle. Then click on the "get location" button to get your current position in degrees and minutes. If the clue has an east direction, you'll need to go east. It should have a number like 2 or 4, and depending on how far south or east you are, you'll need to go further east or west. The same goes for the north or south coordinate. Trirage A: No, the Black Hole was removed from RSC awhile back. I think it was because people thought that it was just a fun joke to be stuck in the Black Hole, and that wasn't what Jagex wanted, so they took it out of the game. T Mac Man A: Actually, you need to complete Dragon Slayer to wear both the Rune Plate body and Dragonhide body. Davester28 A: Wilderness levels just mean that certain level players can attack you. For instance, if you were level 50 and in level 3 Wilderness, player ranging from 47-53 could attack you. If you were in level 20 Wilderness player from levels 30-70 could attack you. It mostly just tells you what range of players can attack you. Agent Jake 1 1) Yes, the Makeover Mage located in a small house north of the Crafting Guild
may be able to help you with changing your skin color. Sworn_Evil A: Well, Player Owned houses were announced by Jagex quite awhile ago. First they were announced in RSC, but they stopped working on the idea. They had a list of planned updates for RuneScape, and in there was Player Owned Houses. I'm almost certain that you can still find it in the News & Updates part of the RuneScape site. Rarejoop A: It sounds like your computer needs more memory to run RuneScape smoothly. You can also try playing on low detail to see if it's any better. Kaka Eter A: Charcoal is used in the Legends quest, and it has no other use. It's not rare, as you can just use coal with a fire to make it. Or, you could buy it from a shop north of Tai Bwo Wannai. Meen Masheen A: When you go past level 20 Wilderness, you'll be unable to use any teleport to get out. This includes magic spells, rings and amulets. Tasty Monke6 A: No, there isn't a Halberd shop in Mort'ton, but there happens to be one in Isafdar, located in west RuneScape. Before you can access the area you need to complete the Regicide quest. Regeaholic15 A: You can get steel gauntlets from completion of the Family Crest Quest. Those gauntlets can be enchanted into 1 of 3 different kinds (check the guide for more info). Steel Boots can be obtained from some of the new Slayer monsters such as Basilisks and Pyrefiends, as well as the new Dragons. Coolio208 A: You can find Maple Trees near the Seer's village, and along the road to Rellekka. Members can cut them, but there are currently no Maple Trees in free-play RuneScape. Most likely, the reason for the logs not showing up as members only logs is that they can still be TRADED on free-play, but there aren't any trees on free-play yet. Gob A: Everything will still be there, and you'll be able to take everything out. There just won't be any room to put more stuff into it. Wonder Skeet A: Colored gloves can be bought from the clothing shop in Canifis for around 750gp each. There are also colored robes, hats and boots that you can buy from there. Forest3Fairy Q: Hey, i'm new to this game, so i was wondering if you could answer a few of my questions plz. a reminder, I AM a noob, so these are noob questions!!;-) 1. Why is it so hard to raise your lvl?? 2. Why do we have to pay 5$ a month to be a member? My parents won't let me pay the 5, but I really want all the AWESOME outfits and weapons. 3.After I send in a report, does the staff recieve it and ban them automatically?? thx, Forest3Fairy P.S. AWESOME WEBSITE!! IT IS MY HOMEPAGE IT'S SO COOL!! THX SO MUCH FOR CREATING IT!! A: Sugar Power Q: Fist of all i love your site. At the end of a treasure trail i got a Torn page 1(s)and a Torn page 1(g). Do you have any idea what i can or have to do with it? And is it worth something, should i keep it? Thanks A: Those torn pages can be used with a prayer book received from the Horror From the Deep Quest to make the book more powerful. Gregory Q: I can see people using a magic bow and it dose this werid thing it shoots arrows with a blue green color...what is that and do you need to do a quest to do that...dose both long and short do that? Gregory120 A: That's actually the special attack for the Magic Bow. Different weapons including Dragon Weapons, Magic Bows, Rune Thrown Axes and Excalibur each have their own special attack which can be accessed in the Combat Style menu for the item. Starfire509 Q: Hey Sal, great website! What's this treasure trail thing about? What can you get in it? Where is it? Thanks, great website again A: You can start Treasure Trails by defeating enemies and getting a Clue Scroll. You have to solve the clue in order to get another one, until you find the treasure. Treasure Ranges from Runes to Trimmed armor to God Armor and other new items. Rhombus222 Q: hey sal!!!!, i have a couple questions 4 u. 1)i've heard rumors about rs2 having houses to buy and same with land is this true? 2)do party hat, bunny ears, and all those things...like give u stat bonuses that things like that? 3)can members turn into imps and bunnies? my friend said he was a "bunny weeeeee" is this true? 4) y haven't u answered any of my other questions? (i've looked at all the other Q&A's and the questions weren't there) A: Spinny458 Q: Hi Sal its me again!!!!!!! Any way I really want a god staff and a god cape but no one will sell it to me!!!!!!!! How do you get them in the first place? Peace out Salmoneus fans!!!!! A: God Staffs and Capes can be obtained from the Mage Arena in the Wilderness after defeating the 5 forms of Kolodion. Grant Q: During gameplay, what do the two crossed sword at the bottom right mean? By the way, fantastic website A: Those crossed swords mean that the area is a multiway combat zone, where multiple players can attack a single enemy (multiple monsters can attack a single player too). Not 2 Smart Q: Hi Sal I just have an question but first I wanna say that your site is da BOMB and I love it (as does everyone else!) I especially like ur guides, they r so helpful for every1! Ne ways, I was wondering... u know how when u click on sum1s name to send a PM, but then u dun wanna send them 1 nemore? Well there isn't a cancel button and i was wondering if u could make the box go back to regular chat without logging? Thx Sal!! :) A: If you don't want to send a PM to a person, but you've already clicked on their name, just clear the message box and hit enter. No message will be sent. :) PKmage188 Q: It's not really important but it's been bothering me quite a bit, how do you pronounce ardougne? Also, If you die in the agility arena in brimhaven, do you lose all your stuff (besdies 3 items) and go back to lumbridge? Thanks Sal! BTW your site is awesome! A: Ardougne is pronounced something like: "Ar-doon." And yes, if you die in the Brimhaven Agility Arena you'll end up in Lumbridge with nothing but your best 3 items |
