Q: hey sal, Ur site rocks MaN!! i go On it all the time for help!! This site is really useful to me.. Well i just wanted to ask u a question... in runescape.. when i die i always go to lumberbridge.. buh when some other ppl die, they go to falador... can u tell me why is that? thanks a lot man... UR SITE IS THE BEST

A: That's because, after completing the Recruitment Drive Quest, you receive a reward known as the Gaze of Saradomin. It allows you to respawn in Falador rather than in Lumbridge when you die. If you ever want to respawn back in Lumbridge, just speak to Sir Tiffy to switch your respawn point back.

Q: hi sal! nice site! i was wondering is drop parties ligal? i saw a mod encouraging other ppl to come to a drop party.

A: Yes, drop parties are completely legal in RuneScape. They break no rules, and are just a form of having fun and interacting with other RuneScapers.

Q: What is the point of becoming an animal in CW? I've done it before but you get turned into a guy when the game starts. Why would you want to become an animal?

A: There really isn't much of a point in becoming an animal in Castle Wars, it's just for a bit of fun and laughs since you really can't do much as an animal there.

Q: im gana mak this short and simple. According to ur guide, to get into phor phasthums in mortyina (i fint thats wat it call. dont mind spelling plz) u need 2 ecto-tokens. what r thes? plz tell me! well that wasnt short but still

A: Ecto Tokens are the form of currency only used in Port Phasmatys, and it's the only type of "money" that they will accept there. You can get Ecto Tokens by praying at the Entofunctus. Bring some bones up to the bone grinder upstairs in the Ectofuntus altar building near the city, grind them up into dust and empty them into a pot. Then bring a bucket to the pool of slime far below the Ectofuntus building, fill it up and head back upstairs to the Ectofuntus. Now pray at it and collect some tokens from the priest.

Q: hi sal i found your site searching on google and all my friends think i should use runehq but your site rocks! anyway my question is how do you take screen shot of yourself if you could respond to me that would be great!

A: Please see the Taking Screenshots Guide for info on taking screenshots.

Q: Hi Sal ur site is the best one iv'e ever seen "at this point fireworks go off",anyway to the question:as your mining level increases does the hits required to mine something ex. mithril increase or does strength do this?

A: As your Mining level increases, you'll find it easier to mine ores from rocks. So the amount of hits it takes to get an ore will generally decrease.

Q: hey sal, great site, btw. I just wanted to aks u a Qq about the site. u said in the bank space saving tips that u can obtain a zombie head by digging in the lumby swamp w/ a spade. Well, i tried that and it didnt work. how can i get a zombie head?

A: You can't get a Zombie Head anymore, you must have already dug one up during the Halloween 2005 event to obtain one now.

Q: Hey Sals, do u think they will come out with a Dragon Plate someday??

A: Yes, I think they will release each type of dragon armor and weapon at some point in time. Who knows, they may even come out with a Dragon Pickaxe... I'd love to get my hands on one of those! :P

Withcygall08
Q: ive seen some people on runescape that look kindof invisable, how do you look like that?

A: That's most likely because they're wearing Ghostly Robes, which make your character look transparent when worn.

Torey
Q: 1st of all great site (even though i'm sure you've heard that sooo many times. anyways 1st question is "flipping notes" illegal?. I don't think so but some one was saying i could get reported.and if so under what? 2nd question is (sorry if u already have this awnser but)how do you make lava runes and staffs and such? ty in adavanced =)

A: No, Flipping Notes isn't illegal, as long as the price is reasonable. The practice of buying things for low and selling high is even in the real world, as people need to make money. It's the same in RuneScape: it's generally ok to sell things for a higher price than you bought them for, as long as your price isn't extreme (ie, selling a Rune Platebody for 300k when you can usually buy them for 60-80k). See the Magic guide for info on Lava Staffs, and the Runecrafting guide for info on combination (lava, dust, mud, etc) Runes.

Airbender336
Q: Why did they change only Falador and Barbarian Village, but not Other Places(Lumbridge, Varrock, etc.)

A: Jagex is currently in the process or re-redoing the graphics in RuneScape. Currently, they've covered Lumbridge, Draynor, Falador, Barbarian Village and the area around Rimmington. I'm sure they'll br redoing many more areas as well in the future!

Q: i bought waterskins that are filled and i dont know how to use them. everything i try comes up with "nothing interesting happens". Please help. thanks

A: You don't actually "use" waterskins, but your character will drink a portion of the water when he or she gets thirsty in the desert (beyond the Shantay Pass).

Brother zigg
Q: Sal- I'll go straight to the question- I once saw a RS2 player with what I believe was a Black Warhammer. Were my eyes misleading me, or was it real? If it is, do you know where you can get them from? Thanks in advance, Brother Zigg.

A: Black Warhammers can be bought from Skulgrimen's Battle Gear shop in Rellekka for around 1,274gp.

Swordruler92
Q: I really wanna know if you aren't a member anymore, how does it goes with your bankspace? I don't get it -.- Because how do i get that much member stuff out the bank? or do I keep the extra bankspace? That's what i wanna know

A: Well, both Freeplayers and Members get a certain amount of space to use. When a Member who has more items in their bank than a Freeplayer is allowed, and then they become a Freeplayer again, they won't be able to deposit anything until they make room in their bank. So, for instance if Freeplayers were allowed 50 items and Members were allowed 100 (just example numbers!), and the member (who is now freeplay) had, say, 60 items, they would be unable to put anything in there until they got down to 49 items. All of your items will still be in the bank, but you need to get rid of some stuff to make room.

Cheazecake
Q: i was just wondering in the mage training arena do you have to purchase the begginer, apprentice and teacher wand before being able to buy the master wand?

A: Yes, before being able to buy and use the next higher-up wand, you need to buy the ones below it. So you need to start with Beginner and work your way up to Master.

Dragondragons
Q: I would just like to comment on your website, Sal. I think it is THE BEST, not just one of the best, but THE BEST Runescape website ever, no kidding! Alright, now to my question. In the nonmembers Dragon Slayer quest, are you able to battle the dragon with magic (using staffs, spells, and runes) and ranging (using bows and arrows), or are you only able to battle it with head-to-head combat, like a warrior (using swords and such)?

A: Technically, I suppose you could use any method, but melee is the best way to go. Ranging is pretty much out of the question, because you need to wield an Anti-Dragonfire Shield at all times or you won't last 10 seconds fighting Elvarg, so you can't use a bow. Crossbows aren't really strong enough to do enough damage so you'll probably run out of food before killing him. Maging Elvarg would probably work, since you can still use your shield along with a staff -- so I guess that would work as well as melee.

Q: ok sally boy i got a few questions for yall!
ok Question 1: On your site under the Q's and A's of May '04 it says stuff about 'duped' party hats! Well me, Peter 539, being an all RS2 player, do not have any clue on what that is and by my standpoint, ther is no such thing as a pink party hat and never was!
Question 2: While doing Monkey Madness (btw im lvl 75 now and without ur help on this web, i would be still trying to get the puzzle done! lol ;) when you put on the 10'th squad sigil, and the screen shakes and you get ther and he starts attacking you, he seems to like pull you in tward him and i cant even cast one spell without being drawn in! i have protect from magic on all the time and many prayer pots and before i saw a lvl 56 just standing on the bridge not even being pulled in! Please explain what causes me to be 'magically' pulled in tward the Jungle Demon! oh by the way ( u have heard this atleast 48773 times ) your site rocks beyond all reason! ok g2g but some more deaths to 'try' ( failingly ) to defeat the Jungle Demon once again....huhh here i go again! =
D

A:
1. Basically, a few RuneScape players found a way to use a program to duplicate any item they wanted in RuneScape, They decided to "dupe" Christmas Crackers and they made a TON of them, used them on many players (and as we know, a prize for opening a Cracker is a Party Hat) and the number of Party Hats increased greatly (in particular, Purple ones were the ones most created). Jagex didn't want to remove ALL party hats, and they didn't want to remove the duped ones because people bought them thinking they were real. So, they kept the party hats in the game but the dupers were banned.

2. That's probably because the player wasn't doing that part of the quest, or had completed it, so therefore he wouldn't be pulled in.

Q: hey sal. you havent answered any of my other quetions. hopeflly you will answer this one. do you need anything to start treasure trails or do you just kill things and rarely it drops it? do u have to do anything first before they start dropping clues?

A: No, you don't need anything to start getting clues, you just kill enemies and they may drop a clue scroll. Then you'll probably need a Spade, Watch, Sextant and Chart at some point to complete the trail.

Q: hi sal i just got half full inventory of charcoal from wilderness im out of wildy now but i was wondering how much 1 piece of charcoal was worth 1 time in world 1 (im not a member) some person was selling 1 piece of charcoal for 700k each is this a good price?

A: Charcoal really isn't worth anything (you can buy it from the shop in Tai Bwo Wannai for 67gp) as it is easily obtained and there isn't much use for it besides the Legends Quest. Often times though, players will claim that it's "rare" and try selling it for some outrageous price (like 700k).

Q: hi sal, awesome site! whenever im on runescape, i also bring this site up on another Internet page. i was wondering, i have been playing since october 2005 and about a week after that i found this site and i never have seen you online. do u play runescape much anymore?

A: No, I don't play RuneScape very often at all. My life is pretty much tied up with college, work, friends and the website/forum, so I don't have much time to play RuneScape at the moment.

Mad Mage 2000
Q: Hi Sal i got a lil question 4 u: sometimes i see a skull and cross bones above other players heads, what are they??

A: That skull and crossbones simply means that the player has attacked someone in the Wilderness. If you're the first person to hit someone in the Wilderness, you get "skulled" for 20 minutes, in which time if you die, you'll lose ALL of your carried items.

Yu-gi-oh
Q: hey sal. i love your site but anyway i got a question. in your guide for the Lost Tribe quest i was told that there are these hand things that grab your head while your tryin to make your way through the underground tunnel. just wonderin if this was true and if so how can i avoid them thanks

A: Yes, there are creatures known as Wall Beasts that will try to grab you and eat your brain when you walk past! You can protect yourself by wearing a Spiny Helmet when in the caves.

Dash1212
Q: Hey sal ur site rox! Well anyway i have a question. anyway wuts the point of powermining and wuts better to mine mith coal or iron

A: Powermining is used by people who want to level up fast. Rather than taking a trip to the bank every time your inventory is full of ore, you just drop it on the ground and keep mining, saving time. It's best to do this with a fast respawning ore like Iron because it's not worth much, and even having only 2 or 3 rocks to mine from will keep you busy at all times, maximizing your xp.

Q: Hey Sal, great site. Best RuneScape fansite ever. Anyways, I was hoping you could answer my question. You know in Draynor Village, across from the bank, in the house with all the bookshelves, there's the old man? He says he'll check your bank for junk, and it sounded a bit dodgy, so I didn't let him, but I showed him my 4 Earth Runes, and he said "They're useful things, but I'll take these off you."...so what happens if you let him "inspect" your bank for junk? Does he scam you all your stuff or something? I hope you can answer, because if he does, oh damn, you can't kill some NPCs... oh well, thanks if you can answer. I know he plays a part in a Members' quest though... :S

A: The Wise Old Man will inspect your bank for "junk" and quest items, and then tell you what you can get rid of, and what you should keep. It's particularly useful for cleaning out you bank if you don't know what certain items do, or if you should keep something from a quest.

Q: On the game options settings what does accept aid mean?

A: The "Accept Aid" option allows people to cast Teleother spells on you. If you have it on and someone tries casting a teleother spell, you'll be asked if it's ok to be teleported. If it's off, no one will be able to teleport you.

Cheapskate
Q: When you'r a member, and after 1 year, un-suscribe, can you still weild a dragon sword? if you have a kitten or cat, will they still act the same as if you were a member?

A: Do, you will be unable to use an Members-Only items once you've become freeplay. They'll show up as a "Members Item" and you'll be unable to equip/eat/use anything until you become a member again.

Q: Im lvl 64 and I recently completed the Dragon Slayer quest thanks to your fantastic guide. As they all are :-) . This was the last quest for me. Now I know that I should probably just give in and pay for a members subsciption but I don't think I play enough to justify the money. My question is: what fun stuff to do can you suggest to someone in my postion that isnt just raising lvls? there has to be a break from lvl raising at some point for people who have high and hard lvls to lvl up. Also while Im here could you suggest a challenging beast to kill that is a lower lvl than a lesser demon and a higher lvl than me? If you can answer that mouthfull you really are the greatest. Cheers Xfm1

A: There are quite a few things to do in RuneScape as a member. firstly, I'd suggest to check out the RuneScape Members guide, as it goes into detail about some of the cool stuff you can do. For a new member, there's always something to do... just take a walk through the members world and you'll immediately be confronted with lots of new quests and skills that are fun, and give you access to even more areas in RuneScape. Then are the huge number of minigames and miniquests available: try your hand at Runelink, or spend an hour or 2 at Castle Wars (my favorite!). The Fight Pits are also very popular and fast-paced. As for monsters, there are lots of them to choose from. Green Dragons come to mind, they drop some decent items and the bones alone are well worth the fight. Then are Trolls, Daggannoths and the new Vampyres, which will put up a fight and drop some decent items as well. Of course, there are lots more, and you'll have to become a member and check them out for yourself to see all there is! :D

Q: All I can say about this site is...DA bomb!
1)If I'm p2p,equip an abby,and become f2p again, would my abby still be equipped?(btw, I'm currently f2p)
2)Which f2p World do you prefer playing on?
3)What bonuses does the dragon shield provide?(left half right half)
4)Have you ever made a screenie fake?
5)You say in your mining screenies that you can now mine rune in the wildy. But in several guilds, you can also mine rune.Where do you mine rune?

A:
1) Yes, it will still be equipped, but it won't give any bonuses as it would when you're a member.
2) Usually I play on a Freeplay world with lots of people because I usually go to freeplay for trading and such.
3) The halves alone don't add any bonuses, but the full shield adds 50 Stab, 52 Slash, 48 Crush and 50 Range.
4) Yes, but it wasn't very good. ^_^
5) I usually mine Rune in the Heroes Guild, but I also mine it from time to time with friends in the wilderness.
