These are all of the questions I got in June 2004. James W. Q: hey sal i use to have windows ME (2000) and i use to play RuneScape from 8:00am to 8:00am the next day so anyways now i gotta upgrade to windows XP and i cant play RuneScape anymore?! do u know where i can download a java virtual machine so i can start playing RuneScape again. A: I had the same problem when I had to upgrade to XP myself. Anyhow, for anyone who doesn't know, windows XP no longer comes with the Microsoft Java. For specific info, visit this page. Well, the version that I use is Sun Java, a much more maintained version by Sun Microsystems. There are install instructions on the site, along with a test applet to make sure everything went O.K. Jeffrey Q: How do you put gold trim on stuff? A: You can't put trims on armor. The only way to get a piece of armor with a trim on it is to complete a Treasure Trail. Dr.Killa Q: where is the prayers arena some ppl say that there's a place where if u bury bones the exp id the bones gets doubled can u ples tell me where it is. A: Actually, there isn't any Prayer Arena in RuneScape. The people who claim there is... well they're lying. JWJURA9211 Q: 2 Questions A: chase wastesicoot Q: can i get another blue rite sword from Thurgo cause i gave the sword to the squire. A: No, Thurgo will only make 1 sword for you to give to the Squire, and you cannot trade them. The Grim Reaper Q: I just came into RuneScape last year in December, my friend told me about it, it was my 12 birthday, but one thing is, i see people holding something, like the weapon that The Grim Reaper holds, that long stick with a blade on top, i wanted to get one, but don't know how, someone told me that it was Dropped in Halloween, but my birthday and found day was December, not October, will they drop those things This year (2004)? I need to know wat time it starts because i am in china, and i am not the same time as RuneScape..... A: As far as I know (or most people know), it's uncertain that Jagex will have any more holiday drops. Usually there would be several drops throughout the day at random times. The Holiday Guide may also be of some use. The Kith and Kin of Eris Q: Hello there First time here and i been browsing around, and my first impression is that you've got a friendly site (and web author if i might say). Anyway i have a request if you might pls. post some thoughts on tradable trimmed armor and shield, that is if there's any and how much would u think it may cost. Specifically I'm interested on what seems to be some rune kites with green trims and or gold trims. A: Well, trimmed armor is a rather interesting object that can be obtained from either completing a Treasure Trail, or trading. These items range in cost from several thousand, to several million, depending on the item and the kind of trim on it. The new armor can be worn by freeplayers, but they can only trade it from others. Also, the armors appear to have the same stats as a regular (untrimmed) piece, so I'm guessing it's just a way to show off wealth. Snipesnipe Q: Sorry to bother you again this will be the last time tonight i contact you lol but i asked you how you got the suggestion thingy and you said something about it being a simple HTML code but wat i wanna know is wat is it called and where can i find it. do u need a domain name to use it on? thx alot A: Heh, sorry about the vague answer last time. Anyhow, the form itself is plain HTML, using regular input. I also use a CGI script that I wrote myself to make the form useable. To use it, you need to have it on a web server that allows CGI scripts to be run. A great site for all sorts of site things is the CGI Resource Index, and you could probably find something there. Snipesnipe Q: hey Sal i really admire your website and wish i was as talented as you. I just wanna know if you know of any free web-hosters that offer forums because I've looked all over and to this day i have found none. Please respond i need this info for a site that my friend is trying to make. A: Well, there are some free web-hosts that offer forums. Bravenet offers free hosting and some other cool stuff. For just a free forum, you can check out Aimoo or Ezboard. 5pepper5 Q: i just bought a dwarf cannon off a player if i die will i lose it? or be able to get another one of the dwarfs for free? A: Well, normally if you bought the cannon from the dwarves, you could get a warranty so that in case you should die, you could get another for free of charge. But, if you buy a cannon from another player you don't have the warranty, so you will have to buy a whole new cannon if you lose it. Crafter56 Q: i have lvl 51 smithing, and was wondering what the quickest way to put up my smith lvl, because mining and Smithing mith just for daggers and hatchets takes 2 long. A: The best way to level up your Smithing at lvl 51 would be to make steel plates. Iron is easy to mine, and it doesn't need too much coal to make a bar. You would also be making a nice profit by selling the plates in Varrock, or by using a high alchemy spell on them if you have a high enough magic level. E-Bot Q: Sal, Im wondering how much muddy keys cost because i recently found two and this one guy said they cost 200k. Is this true? If not, how much do they cost? A: Muddy keys are a rare drop Chaos Dwarves, but they really aren't worth 200k. Depending on the buyer or seller, it costs around 3-5k because all that's in the chest are some Runes, coins, and some weapons. Soni98 Q: if at the beginning of the wilderness you keep dying because of other players that are a lower level than yours but have a higher magic level what would you suggest to stop this madness? A: I would suggest wearing some type of leather because it will help protect against magic. You could wear mage robes, or if your prayer is high enough, try using a Protect From Magic prayer to cut the damage in half. Dr.Killa Q: Can non-members wear gold trim? A: Yes, anyone can wear armor with gold trim on it. Confused Q: I need to find garlic. Any suggestions? A: There may be a piece of garlic stashed in one of the houses of Draynor Market. Dark Light A Q: How do you get a gnomeball?!? I played the game but it doesn't let you keep it once you leave!!! A: Well, this hasn't been confirmed yet, but try to teleport out of the field when you have the ball with you. Paula Granny A: You can search the Rune Dictionary to find the answers to your first 2 questions. I'm not completely sure what you mean by "scribe," but if your speaking of Reldo the librarian, check out the "Lores and Histories" from the "Library of Varrock" on the RuneScape homepage. Scythes Q: someone told me a scythe is better than an r2h is this true? And he said he would sell it 4 34k and i said I'll save then but he said he would cut me a deal give him everything i had on (mith full helm, ammy of ghostspeak, addy legs, fire staff, ruby ring, leather boots, and leather gloves) would these clothing be good for me or a rip off and one last thing if any wat lvs do i need to use scythe? A: Scythes were the Halloween drops in 2003, but they aren't tradeable. Scythes are not better than a Rune 2h (fighting-wise), but they look pretty cool. |
