Balthazar Beauregard's Big Top Bonanza
Balthazar Beauregard's Big Top Bonanza (also referred to as the "Circus") is one of numerous Distractions and Diversions in RuneScape. While in it, you perform certain tasks to be rewarded with Agility, Ranged and Magic experience, along with some new outfits.
Requirements
There are no requirements to start Balthazar Beauregard's Big Top Bonanza, but higher Ranged, Magic and Agility levels help a lot. To enter the Bonanza, you will need to find the Ticket Vendor. Once you find it, simply click on it and it will give you a ticket. The ticket is used to leave the Bonanza.
Getting There
Current Circus Location: Edgeville - West of the Grand Exchange shortcut, next to the bridge
The Vendor can be found in one of the following 12 locations:
- Seers' Village - South of the Bar
- Catherby - West of the Farming Patch.
- Taverley - West of the POH Portal
- Edgeville - West of the Grand Exchange shortcut, next to the bridge
- Falador - East of the Mining Guild
- Rimmington - Northwest of the POH portal
- Draynor Village - North of the bridge leading to the Wizards' Tower
- Al Kharid - North of the Cactus patch, south of the Duel Arena
- Lumbridge - West of the General Store
- Varrock - South of the Lumber Yard, next to the Earth Altar
- Varrock - South of the Cooking Guild
- Tree Gnome Stronghold - Southwest of the entrance
Each location has a different audience, and different audiences have different tastes. Wearing a costume and doing emotes regularly can get you more points in the Bonanza.
For a hint of where to look, you can talk to a Circus Barker, then search for a yellow Quest symbol on the World Map.
After receiving the Ticket from the Vendor, you will be teleported to the Bonanza. Once there, the Ringmaster will welcome you.
How to Play
First, choose a performance to begin with. There is no set order of which to do first, just pick the one you want.
Magic Performance
To begin the Magic Performance, talk to the Magic Assistant northeast of the Ringmaster. She will teach you how to do your performance.
Once she is finished, tell her you're ready to start. Now, search the box right next to her. You will open a Performance Equipment screen containing Alchemy, Teleport, Elemental and Levitate tablets to help you do your performance. You may perform emotes between your casts to raise your points in the end, although there is a limit on how many emotes will get you extra points.
Grab whatever tablets you wish, and head to a box. The Alchemy/Teleport box is right next to the Assistant, the Levitate is directly South of her, and the Elemental is West of the Assistant. You get points by casting spells, and the higher the level recommendation of the item, the more points will you get. Remember that the crowd dislikes repetitive performances, so keep your performance varied or you won't get as many points. Stand in one of the stars to begin casting.

Remember, the levels are just recommendations. You can still alchemize the Anvil at level 1, but you will have a much easier time doing it if your level is higher. If you drink a Magic Potion or activate a Magic boosting Prayer, you will have a higher chance to succeed.
Ranged Performance
To start the Ranged Performance, talk to the Ranged Assistant, located West of the Ringmaster. Like the Magic Assistant, he will give you a short tutorial on the Ranged Performance.
Once he's finished, go to the box south of him and open the Performance Equipment screen.
Five shots must be at the Bullseye, and the other five shots must be at the Poppinjay. Keeping that in mind, grab the Bow, 5 arrows and 5 Throwing Axes or Knives. Once you have the necessary equipment, fire at either the Bullseye or Poppinjay by clicking in the shooting spots in front of them. The closer the spot is, the lower will the level recommendation be, and hence the easier will it be to hit the target. You may also perform emotes between shots to raise your points, like in the Magic Performance.
If you drink a Ranged Potion or activate a Ranged boosting Prayer, you will have a higher chance to hit the targets. You get points by shooting at the targets, and once again, the higher the level recommendation is for the shooting spot, the more points will you get for it. Remember to keep your performance varied!
Once 5 shots have been made at the Bullseye and Poppinjay, you will be finished with your Ranged Performance.
Agility Performance
To start the Agility Performance, head to the Changing Room South of the Ringmaster.
Once up, talk to the Agility Assistant. He will, like the other assistants, give you a short tutorial on the Agility Performance.
Once he's finished, open the box next to him. This will open the Performance Equipment screen.
The items in the box are used for juggling. Take whatever item you wish, or none at all. Once you got your juggling equipment, talk to the Agility Assistant again. He will offer you an instruction Pamphlet to remind you of what to do if you happen to forget anything.
Now, you will start with your Agility Performance. Once you're on the tightrope, your equipment screen will change to a special Performance screen.

Select which you want to perform. Between your moves, you may also do normal emotes to raise your points, like on the other performances. You may also juggle the items you grabbed on the box earlier. If you drink an Agility Potion, you have a higher chance to succeed in the actions. You earn points by doing the different actions in the new performance menu. Like on the other performances, the higher the level recommendation is, the more points will that action give you. Always remember to keep your performance varied, or you won't get as much points.
