Recap

Hi everyone!  Been getting back into RS lately. I may even decide to start over with a new account.  Anyways, I've been feeling real nostalgic from the good ol' days with ya'll, as I'm turning 30 in a couple months. Strange to look back at all the history and memories we made here through our computer screens. It's safe to say RS was more than a game for us. I mean, we're here on a help site, formed a clan, had events, celebrated achievements together, kept each other entertained for hours and days and years!  I was always fortunate to have a good amount of IRL friends, but you all were as much a part of my life as them as well. We basically grew up together from all corners of the globe and I appreciate looking back at all the good times.  Also it didn't take a psychologist to figure this one out, but yes I am on the autism spectrum and that explains why I was the way I was on here and in chat lol. I didn't even know until last year, I thought I was just a little weird. It's kinda been a journey through self-acceptance after going nearly 30 years not knowing why you are the way you are, but it's also validating. I know there are so many people just like me in the world, some of you too even.  At the end of the day, it's just traits. Whether we have autism or not, there's always going to be people who like us or dislike us for our traits. Some of you really disliked me and I sure af don't blame you lmao. I didn't like myself either. I always knew something was wrong but I didn't know what. Like, "why am I like this? why can't I simply not be who am?". But it doesn't work that way, of course. I'm just glad I matured into someone I like.  I have spent years playing in a band, getting on a buncha cool shows. I've visited 46/50 states, got my master's degree in sustainability, became a university professor, and more. After spending so many years in my youth not thinking I'd amount to anything, not understanding my disability or knowing I had one, I'm pretty happy about where I am in life.  I'd like to hear what ya'll have been up to as well, so please do comment with a life update! We've come a long way since I joined this site 15 years ago.  I feel like nobody truly quits RS forever lol. I saw how many people are still playing and those who are coming back, so I guess it was never goodbye, just brb. Take care, and see you around.  -Taker (Twist of Fate) (Anthony) (Tony) (T-bone)

October Skyline

Hey Y'all! As you guys know, I'm frequenting this place and the game from time to time. It's more economically efficient for me to buy membership on break so I'll see you in December/January in-game. Other than that, you may know I'm in a band. So we've recently released a new single called "October Skyline". It was written about 4 years ago before I even joined and I never heard our singer play it again until 2015. It was my favorite thing he's written. Anyway, we actually decided to use it and make a full-band version for our next album. If you'd like to check it out, send us a like on YouTube, share, subscribe, whatever, or just listen, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a lot, dudes and ladies. See you in December for some hangs. Let's skill or something.

Seattle Hangs

Hey all, I'm back from PNW adventures in Portland and Seattle. My buddy lives out there so I thought I'd visit and see if I ever wanted to move out there as well.   I'm sure natives would have a different perspective on the city, but I really enjoyed it. It's not like here in New York where the atmosphere is basically toxic and there's trash piling up in the streets. It's literally a concrete jungle. Seattle's pretty urban, but there are more suburban areas. It's quiet, save for some sea planes landing in Lake Union across the street. You could walk to the University of Washington and get a great view of Mount Rainier on a less cloudy day.   I've found there's no point in going up the Space Needle because, well, you can't see the Space Needle from the Space Needle so what else is there? The public transit system isn't perfect, but it got me where I needed to go quick and easy. There is a lot to think about if I were to make this move, but I left the city with a positive opinion.

Grad School

I logged onto RS the other day for some fun afk skilling and starting Gower's Quest. In real life, I started my Master's of Science in Sustainable Management the other day. I'm getting it through the University of Wisconsin's Sustainability MGT online program and it's a very pleasant experience so far. The online portal is organized and provides easy communication access with everyone and the professor, a way to check off tasks I've completed, and it's basically a step above my undergrad degree.   In about two and a half years, I look forward to coming to you all with a neat graduation pic of myself at Lambeau Stadium in Green Bay. Not a packers fan, just had to pick a home campus and Green Bay won the coin flip. ;)   I hope you're all doing well and achieving your goals. Whatcha all doing educationally?

Updated my RS Players Wiki article

Don't lie and say you didn't make your own   I remember making this about 5 or 6 years ago, not because I think I'm a famous player, but because I enjoyed cataloguing a brief description of my Runescape career in one place. My memory is a bit fuzzy right now, but as I long on from time to time I can remember my last 11 years with this game, and 9 years with you all.   Every time I log on, I see all of the same people still playing, and it's an enjoyable experience. Many of the old people are gone, but it's crazy we watched each other grow up through this game. We spent years together, and for many, this game is not for them anymore. Some of us may have lost an RS friend in real life, like I have last year (gave him a shoutout in the article).   Anyway, despite my inactivity, I do not plan on letting this game go forever right now. It's been a busy year so far. I hope you are all doing well and succeeding in the paths you've planned for yourselves.

Music Video

Fun fact: It took 3 takes of me getting hit with the board. It was an actual board and after the first take we actually found a nail in it. Anyway, here's our new single and music video. Toss a like if ya want please!

Araxxor/Araxxi partner

Hi ya'lls,   So it seems the next accomplishment is the comp cape, which of course involves fighting every boss in the game. Right now I've got an Araxxi soul reaper task and surely I would have to double count this with Morvran's slayer challenge, so would anybody be down to duo sometime?   It'll be easier with a partner I imagine, as for Soul Reaper I do not need to do the majority of the damage for it to count, and for Morvran's challenge I only have to do the most amount of damage to Araxxi if I'm correct.   Definitely been getting better each attempt and I know the mechanics of the fight, but I'm still slipping up and would prefer not to solo if there's an extra pair of hands in the arena

Max Podcast

Just my 10 years of playing this game and skilling summed up into an 18-minute podcast. Tried not to be boring but podcasting isn't my thing. It's been a long road ahead and now there's a less lengthy road to the completionist cape. Thanks for being a part of it because who knows where I'd be without people to talk to in game.   https://www.mixcloud.com/Taker25700/takers-max-podcast/

99 Runecrafting/Max Cape

I know it was a difficult time to schedule the party but thanks to all who came and grats'd in chat! Am very glad to have gotten 99 in all skills, and hope for 120 Dungeoneering in the near future. Going to release a sort of podcast later this week to tell my story and appreciate the past 8 years with yalls.

99 Dungeoneering- #25

Thanks for coming all! Especially to the three of you who came with me in the dungeons to help make this happen. Definitely a weird way to have a 99 party, but fun nonetheless. All that is left is 95-99 Runecrafting, hopefully by the end of July.

Canada Confirmed!!

Last minute decision to go to Montreal this Monday for the Canada Vs. Netherlands game. We're only planning on staying for 8 hours then hanging at my friend's college in New York State.   Buuut anyone wanna meet up? Any advice for getting around Montreal? Experiences I should know about? Fun things to do so we're not just going out of country for 8 hours then leaving?

Here's how today went

I saw a guy looking for a 9k doubler at GE. I didn't want him to get scammed so I just told him I would give him 9k if he spent it wisely. Whatever, it's 9k.   So I just give him the money and tell him not to put any up, and he says thank you.   Then I see him going around looking to get 18k doubled.   Sometimes you just gotta sit back and take a minute.

RIP to an RS Warrior

My friend Eric died today at 22. In 6th grade 10 years ago, we all got into Runescape together. I grew up with this guy although we haven't talked or scaped in a while, but I remember him teaching me how to merch in world 2 GE and just skilling when we were bored at 3 in the morning.   RIP friend, classmate for 9 years, RS warrior, brother, and son.

Zezima

Deja and I met up with him at the Max guild, but I'm outside since I'm 6 99s away from max. Anyway it was kinda cool, haven't met him since years back when he taught me how to say his name. It's kinda like meeting an old celebrity, like if you met one of the Backstreet Boys randomly on the street training slayer.

Italia

So in about 10 days I'll be leaving for Italy, passing over Ireland, the UK, Netherlands, with one stop in Germany on the way there and in Switzerland going home.   I've never been out of North America before so this is real exciting. Sal's meetup in Frankfurt, Geneva, Rome, Venice, or Florence? Buying errybody drinks.
