I think I've narrowed down a few essentials as to what I need in life from another person; so if anyone has ever wanted to be my life partner - here's your chance!
1 - Must be a big WWE fan. Or at the very least; be able to feign an incredible amount of interest and enthusiasm - particularly towards the Royal Rumble, Booker T and Kharma.
2 - Must be willing to play WWE games with me on xbox until blue in face.
3 - Must be willing to watch Pearl Harbour with me at least once a month.
4 - Must be game to watch dramatised films on middle ages - 20th centuary monarchs.
5 - Must be willing to let me drive when we go anywhere.
6 - Has to enjoy spooning - I need a cuddler!
7 - Has to love Susan Boyle.
8 - Must be willing to go to live WWE events with me; and get up at stupid o'clock to get front row seats on day of release!
9 - Must be a worse dancer than me - and believe me when I say it is difficult!
10 - Must be willing to bless the rains down in Africa.
First off - I'm going to sum up Runefest in a few words. Unforgettable. Unmissable. Socially welcoming and an all out hoot!
Could not have asked for a more enjoyable weekend, spent with better people if I'd tried! By the end of it my camera was hissing steam just trying to keep up with my demands on it! :P
For me, the long weekend began at 4AM Friday morning when I had to wake up to get dropped off to Belfast airport, catching a flight to London Gatwick at 6:30, and *hopefully* meeting Tabt there at around 8. After a few kinks, in which she wasn't getting paid, we managed to sort it out that she was able to come and meet me, (I'd have ended up sitting there until it was time to go home if she hadn't!). So, at 8AM we glomped and went to get some early morning caffeine to start off the day. We then moved into the airport station to get the shuttle to the Northern terminal! (There are trains in the airport! What?!)
The image from the front of the shuttle! We started running at the window and it made it look like we were running really fast :o
We then managed to get to our hotel and got early check in so we could dump our bags (no way could we have lugged those around for a minute longer). Then hopped off into London for a bit of sight-seeing, the London Tower, Millenium Bridge, Shakespeare's Globe theatre, and accidentally stumbled across the venue event! As well as that, Tabt had her runefest 2010 bag on, and whilst trying to give directions to a lady, two big guys with the same bags stood around pointing at her waiting to say hello. Apparently I was vermin, since as soon as I extended my hand to shake one of theirs, he backed away like I had the plague :(
After this we met up with some of Tabt's friends from previous meetups and Runefest 2010, all of whom turned out to be extraordinarily lovely people. We then drank in a pub for a couple hours, and moved onto namco a little early for the "Night Before" gathering, at Namco Arcade in London, which has everything! Including some dodgems where I lost the battery to my phone :( Luckily some kind men found it for me and we made it back to the hotel at around 3AM with some nom nom mcdonalds :o
The next morning Tabt got a call at 6:30 (yes, 6:30!) saying they wanted to go early and get in the queue. No thanks. I'm a bit of a grouch in the morning and refused to get up until the very last minute, and we had a lovely little system in the mornings where I slept and everyone else got readied, then I just fell into some clothes and toothpaste, very efficient.
We got to the actual Runefest event on Saturday morning, in time to queue to get in the VIP section, a little earlier than the rest of the people. Party Pete (gorgeous) was playing outside, as well as some musicians who came very close to having their pipes shoved up somewhere the sun didn't shine (they did not help my hangover - which was only in slight retreat thanks to McDonald's breakfast, paracetemol and pro-plus). When through the door we were given Runefest wristbands, lanyards and goodie bags, with a runefest pin, some signed concept art, a t-shirt and the Runefest item code (which now matches my max cape!)
Inside, the building was decorated to a very high standard, and looked superb, and we saw the balloons (OF DOOM) hanging from the ceiling ready to murder some poor soul the next day. We had a quick mosey into the VIP area (which wasn't all that great) before moving down in the dungeon for a spot of IRL dungeoneering, in which a very reluctant Mod Nexus was forced to lead our team, Sal's Realm, since he couldn't find any other JMods to take us, except one very sad and frightened looking JMod who had been relegated to handing out Rings of Kinship (haribo sweets).
Apparently, our team did absolutely crap, worst of the day (so far), as we were constantly reminded. I managed to solve 0 puzzles myself, apart from the wire at the end, where you had to navigate it without hitting the metal part, which pleased the quizmaster lurking round the corner. He was hilarious and one of the best members of staff at the event, imho.
When we finally escaped with our dungeoneering tokens (there were 8 skills, completing each one gave you a cool skill token, a nice little momento of the weekend), we tried a spot of Sumo wrestling did me and Goggie. The first two rounds Goggie more or less flattended me, and we ended up headbutting with some force, giving me a black eye! I got my retribution in round 3 by knocking him headfirst into a wall and nearly killing him :D
I'm in Green.
After that excitement we played the rest of the skills, did the penguin hunt, watched the bot busting talk (you can see us in the video for that one), popped on line to say hi to sals and get our codes, and then watched the Golden Gnomes, before heading off home to get changed for the halloween party.
For the most part, the party was fun, but the bar was expensive and it ended really early, and we trundled the entire way home at 1am freezing cold :P
Sunday morning we woke up, and got back to the venue about an hour after the festivities began, with the intention of drinking a little more to get a little more social (I'm socially awkward - it helps!). We attended a few more insider sessions, such as the "Sounds like a creature feature" where people made noises and had them manipulated to be the voices of monsters in an update next month - and Tabt got made into a baby dragon!
Shortly after we hit the bar big time, and it showed :P We went to the runescape quiz and the greatest glitches sessions more than a little trollied, sang the Phantom of the Opera loudly and obnoxiously during the quiz, then yelled "NINE THOUSAND AND ONE" at a mod asking about the number of glitches in runescape. By the time the talk for Runescape 2012 came around I had found Mod Emilee who I badgered a bit, and ended up missing the talk completely and instead stumbled around drunkenly, and took a picture of myself with an extremely well hung unicorn statue ;)
Then it was time for the balloon drop with the ballons (OF DOOM!). I can be seen in the highlights video jumping around very drunkenly and happily counting down. When they dropped, I decided it would be a better idea if I were to cover a greater mass by lying down and punching the balloons. After a few, I missed, hit the floor, and broke two of my knuckles. Yes, I now had a black eye and two broken knuckles. At least, talking to Party Pete afterwards, he promised to meet me in the toilet in five minutes, claiming "Party Pete swings both ways!", but alas, never did. I called him out on that a few minutes later and he strolled off, saying, meet me outside, now. He then turned around and said, "If Party pete goes outside he isn't allowed back in." So, I never got Party Petey :P
Then I harassed a lot of the JMods, particularly some pretty ones :D This was more or less the end of the weekend, after which we all went back to Namco for after-event activities, and a 3 hour drunken stumble through the streets of London, before cabbing it back to the hotel,( the taxi drivers never took us right to the hotel for some reason ), some spooning in the bed with Tabt whilst looking through some god-awful-hideous pictures we took :P
The next day my flight wasn't until 7:30PM, and Tabt was kind enough to endure unbelievable tiredness to shepherd me around London, showing me a few sights we hadn't seen on Friday, and get me to the airport, (lav you), and that was the end of a truly amazing weekend, with people who I feel I'll chat to for a long time to come :)
Runefest 2011 x
Haven't written a blog on here in bloody ages! But this seems like as good a time and as good a topic to blog about as any.
It's not exactly a secret, but whether you know or not, here it is: I'm gay.
Today, I finally told my mum and step-dad. It's quite a tough and odd one, because it's something we've discussed several times over the past few years, but mostly when either I or they have been intoxicated to high heavens and was kind of just left unspoken as I was never comfortable enough to outright say it.
However, in November 2012 I met my first... serious... I guess, boyfriend. We were seeing eachother for 2 months and we've now been officially together for 2 months. It's serious for me anyway, and I felt they deserved to know.
So, after finally getting them both to sit in the room (bloody mother wouldn't stop playing songpop until she realised I had my serious face on!) and choking up a bit on my words I finally managed to spit it out to them.
The really annoying part is after I having had previous drunken discussions I knew it would be 100% fine and that made stressing over it even more annoying and stressful. I'm truly blessed with my parents, and I know that.
Even so, the reaction I got underwhelmed me. Even though they knew I was expecting tears and a million questions.
To their eternal credit however, without batting an eyelid they both just said... "We know." and proceeded to ask me questions about my boyfriend and discuss problems with being brave enough to come out (he hasn't yet) and about problems in life from other people, and older generations in my family.
Bloody underwhelming, but something I've known I had to do for a long time, and I'm glad I finally managed the courage to do it.
However, you may have noticed this is only part 1. And this is the kicker, I have to tell my dad and step mum next week when I go back to England, so it doesn't feel like a weight's been lifted just yet. Or maybe it will once it sinks in. I know my dad and step mum will be just as fine, because it's been discussed before too. I just really want it to be over with and having to wait another week is not going to be fun :P
The highly awaited sequel to coming out Part 1 is here!
Before we begin, it's probably worth mentioning at this point that I've literally just done it and feel like poo. I'm not after sympathy, I just want to write all this down, spew it out, but I also want to share it in a blunt manner.
So I just told my dad and step mum that I'm gay. I felt compelled to do this after I told my mum and step dad last week, and to be honest, I really didn't want to and found this one a hell of a lot more difficult.
I sat down on the bed and just stammered my words out and said to them. They both said it was fine and they still loved me and had apparently guessed that I was in a relationship from the pictures on Facebook that I'm in with my boyfriend.
I don't really know what else I could have expected from them, but I didn't feel in any way comforted like I did with my mum and step dad, and I don't feel like they were okay with it even though I know deep down that they were.
I think the worst parts were they kept talking about it not affecting my education and how other family members would react. Obviously I know the rest of my family are going to find out, but .... I don't even know. Just the way they said what they said didn't really make me feel okay. Which is horrible, because obviously it's something they have to deal with too, but I dunno.
I was talking to them for all of five minutes and now I'm in bed after having had somewhat of a breakdown. I've never felt so poopy and just want my mum :P You'd never guess I was going on 20 this year would ya?! :P
Don't know. Maybe there'll be a part 3 when I get my head around this, but right now it doesn't really feel like anythings been lifted off my shoulders.
I think I've finally found a way of revising that works for me.
I went to Tesco yesterday and bought myself 10 custard donuts for £1.
The deal was, after each paragraph of my french presentation I learn, I get a donut.
When I can say the entire thing in one go, I get the rest!
Let's just say I now know three times as much of the presentation as I did yesterday morning :glasses:
I bought a pack of runecoins last week, so that I could buy the pegasus teleport and some emotes. The payment took a while to process (as Jagex payments usually do for whatever reason).
I checked my bank statement this morning and see they've charged me twice for the same pack.
So I went onto the forums and made a post asking what's going on. A mod replied within an hour saying, no you weren't, but I've sent you a message in your in-game message centre explaining the problems.
So I went to log into my account to check said message, and they've locked my account.
Went through the process of unlocking it, checked the in-game message which just said "No, you haven't been charged twice", essentially.
Now I'm cross. Trying to get in contact with one of them and send them my bank statement.
So I got a no pic no proof response in my last blog to the tattoo - here's some pics to keep you going :P
These were taken whilst I was being stabbed repeatedly and praying for death.
WARNING: The following pictures have both my face and my boobies (I'm topless) in them. I take no responsibility if you either vomit and/or fall madly in love with me. Open at own risk. Viewer discretion advised.
NB: Glasses because I'm amazing. That and he said staring at the lights for an hour and a half would hurt me.
I've been offered a job interview on Monday, at a petrol station that would pay me around ~1.30 an hour more, which all adds up on a monthly basis.
Trying not to get my hopes up too high about it, but this is the first interview I've been offered since I got my current job back in March, (nothing like a dead job market to cheer you up).
Hopefully, very hopefully I'll get it, it would be a little easier on petrol to get to as well, and there's good chance of getting time and a half by offering to do the scummy shifts nobody wants to do (late Friday and Saturday nights basically).
Oh well, can but hope, now I must go to my current job :s Anything to get away from fast food.
Ye' are far too good for Argos. Don't let the man keep you down! Get a new job and make Argos regret the day it was conceived as a brand name!
(And if you find out tomorrow you actually got the job, remind them the opinions and views displayed in this blog no way reflect the opinions of Gonzyy or those affiliated closely to the Gonz' ^_^)
After hearing Merch Gwyar's information on the state of pedophillia in Runescape (and the internet as a whole, no doubt), she has written a brilliant article outlining the key points, dangers and what you can do.
You can read the entire article (and it's a must-read for everyone) here: http://wizzley.com/runescape-paedophiles-cyberbullies/?pr=1976
Whilst I know it's an issue that it's easy to make light of and sweep to one side, it is a real problem, and one that I personally feel the community as a whole should be aware of.
So please try and keep the comments sensible on this one guys :)
I have officially handed my man card in at the door of the cinema today.
Saw Eclipse. Cried like a fricking baby, going to see it again tomorrow.
Who needs a man card when you have werewolves and vampries who look like that?!
No, I don't need your approval, because I have werewolves and vampires :/
Leave your hateful comments below, I'll mull over them while I return to the cinema to watch it again, and again, and again :)
..To the WWE's annual Royal Rumble 2011.
I doubt very many people actually follow this somewhat dying "sport" around here, but nevertheless I'm thoroughly excited :)
It's been upgraded this year to a 40 man match rather than a 30 man match (though I'm not actually sure there's that many wrestlers in the company any more :P )
With rumoured run-ins from a Dave Batista (anyone who watches Strikeforce MMA, expect to know the name later this year :P ), the potential (yet almost guaranteed return of HHH) and even some legendary visits from the likes of Shawn Michaels amongst many, many more.
I can't wait ^_^
Plus, thanks to my exams, it's one of the maybe 3 pay-per-views I'll actually get to watch live this year :P
EDIT: And the most exciting bit?
The possible debut of this woman:
Headed to Washington & New York on a history trip in just six days!!!
Soooo excited, can't wait!
Shopping spree, and some prom thing on a boat by night.
Also; does anyone know if you're supposed to cheer for the New York Yankees at baseball? I've seen them get slated on tv before, and I must be informed :)
Far more hastle than it was worth.
Had one of the single weirdest dreams that I can think of in I don't know how long.
My dream took on a combination of Assassin's Creed, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, on top of a syfy channel documentary about a haunted forest with a perfectly circular clearing I saw yesterday.
You'd think, with three of the most intricate and action packed plots being combined I could do a little better than I did...
Me and some of the assassin's were in a perfectly circular clearing, when all of a sudden, *BAM*...
Lord Voldemort and his death eaters appeared, so we scattered round the outskirts of the clearing, battling in and out of the trees.
I then joined in a duel with 4 assassin's (who now had wands) to attack Voldemort, but after about a minute of yelling Expelliarmus! and Arvada Kerdava! I discovered that my wand was actually a sparkler.
So, after this somewhat momentum de-railing discovery, the Assassin's sent me into the clearing to look for the apple of Eden, which I found! But, shortly after finding it, it became night, and we decided to take a sleep for the night rather than continue in the night.
When I woke up, the Sorting Hat with the sword of Griffindor was lying beside me, victory was now surely mine!
Then, friggin Pippin and Merry appeared beside me, and exclaimed "Mordor!", at this point we got a panning view of an intricate gate to someone's estate with a giant "M" in the middle of it, (standing for Mordor!).
Then to be friggin' continued appeared across my vision...
Apparently my dream is to be continued :P
More on this story, as it unfolds.
Yes, mark the date. Tomorrow, August 3rd 2011, is a very special day.
After nine, agonising months of waiting, questions, confusion and expense. Nine months of planning, preparation and anxiety.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, after 9 long months, it gives me great pleasure, to announce to each and every one of you that tomorrow, August 3rd 2011, I, for the first time in my life, am attending an Iron Maiden concert :)
Iron Maiden have been my all time favourite band since around the age of 8, and it's always been one of my bigger desires in life to go and see them live in concert. I was originally going to their "Somewhere back in time" tour in Twickenham a few years back, but a holiday to America co-incided, so I didn't go.
Tomorrow I'm finally getting my chance to see them in the Odyssey Arena, Belfast, and have rarely been so excited in my life.
I'll blog again about it tomorrow night probably, maybe include a couple of pictures, depending on how close I can fight my way to the front.
I shall take no prisoners, for, tomorrow truly is, The Final Frontier.
Feel free to take pity on me since Dragonforce are supporting though :)
Why must they constantly release in-game items via membership cards and other subscription methods?!
If I buy the latest one I'll have membership until December 29th 2012.
The world won't even last that long
All I seem to blog about lately is the fact I haven't blogged lately.
It's been a while since I've blogged about my life, and a lot has happened since then I guess.
I officially finished school a couple of weeks back, and am on study leave for my A-Levels. I've got one this coming Monday and Wednesday, and then Tuesday 22nd May. Then I'm finished high school/college for good. I'm a mix of emotions for that, I'm excited to hopefully be going to Chester in September to start University. But I am very sad to be leaving school behind, I think I was blessed to have such a positive high school experience, even if i couldn't always be bothered with it.
I've started working a little bit more, so I'm doing 20hours a week I guess. Not too bad, especially since I only really work in 4 hour shifts.
At home my younger dog Millie has been sick. She fell ill on Thursday and we took her to the vet, and she was kept for 24hours while they did scans and tests. Turns out she's heavily anemic, and if we hadn't taken her in when we did, she'd have died apparently. So it's been pretty scary, but we're told she should be okay, but will be on tablets for the rest of her life. Cost yet to be determined <_<
Other than that I'm just chilling. I'm off to the Domican Republic for two weeks at the start of July. And once these exams are over I've got no real commitments until the end of September :D
Why is entertainment so damn costly?
Isn't it enough that I watch all the WWE programming every day of the week?
You've addicted me to the saddest sport in the entire world, and I shamelessly watch it at every given opportunity.
Now you rob me of £15 to watch a headline event?
Oh WWE... I am powerless to resist you.. ^_^
These matches better end how I want them too for £15
As some of you are probably aware, on Thursday, (March 17th) it is St. Patrick's day :)
So I'm wondering what/if anyone else will be doing to celebrate it.
Personally, I think I'll skip my morning classes and go climb Slemish, and I have a friend who has been invited to play violin at the top of the mountain for the climbers :)
Then off to the pub on Thursday night (despite the totally unreasonable chuck out times of 12 across the town :))
Thinking Friday off school may be in order :D
