Time for a RuneScape rant!
Today I'm going to be ranting about the Completionist Cape and the fact that there are people who want Raids to not actually be a requirement for the untrimmed Completionist cape, and why it's really dumb to only make it a Trimmed requirement.
And good god, my last post to this blog was in 2013. Where the hell did that time go?
The main argument against Raids being a Comp Cape requirement seems to be that it does, in fact, require teamwork.
Well, goddamn, what a nightmare! Completing a multiplayer game requires you to work with a team! Who'd have ever expected such a horrifying situation?
Most of these particular complainers fail to realize that, were Raids to be shifted to Trimmed Comp for this reason, then we'd also have to move a number of requirements over to Trimmed Comp for consistency. Namely, the following Quests would no longer be associated with the Completionist Cape's untrimmed variant:
Shield of Arrav
Defender of Varrock
Curse of Arrav
Temple at Senntisten
Dimension of Disaster
Recipe for Disaster
While Guthix Sleeps
Ritual of the Majharrat
Throne of Miscellenia
Blood Runs Deep
Branches of Darkmeyer
The Light Within (which hasn't been released yet but is confirmed to require some of those other quests)
After all, if we're moving one piece of content to the Trimmed cape because it requires teamwork, should we not move all Completionist requirements that can't be done alone to the Trimmed cape for consistency?
Now, I do get the people who actually argue that it's very difficult to find and coordinate a competent 10-player team for Raids without being expected to use voice communication or whatever it is the elitists are doing these days. That's fine. I get that. But as Raids become older content and people find strategies that work for them it should naturally become much easier to organize kills of the early bosses, and really the bottom line is that if you aren't willing to complete this multiplayer game, then you don't deserve the cape that says you finished the game.
Some minor arguments that started popping up around the time Raids were released seemed to be based around the fact that Raids are hard.
Really? Tell me more about how easy getting 99s in every skill in the game was far easier than any boss. Tell me about how easy it was to finish every quest.
Once again, Raids will get easier as they become older content, and once again if you're not willing to finish the game you don't deserve to be called Completionist.
I dunno, I'm never going to have the Completionist Cape, and it's not because of Raids. It's because it's not physically possible for me to sit and grind every skill out to level 99 and retain mental health. I just can't do it, but even then I will try Raids once I reach the end-game, and when I finally get with a team that beats all the bosses I'll be satisfied with my achievement and glad I actually did it and didn't pay someone to let me leech.
TL;DR butthurt elitists want comp cape back but don't want to earn it, they're dumb.
So I got into a lengthy debate on how poorly designed World Event 2 is (which, of course, it is,), which included some of the following topics:
-PvP and Caravans
-Free Construction xp (is good part)
The vast majority of it ended up being about stuns, anticipation, and freedom.
Basically, there was this one Bandos (who, I believe, is still top of the kills board) and this one Armadyl guy.
Essentially, soon as I start telling them about how stuns are the reason PvP is broken (I'll explain soon), that somehow equates to being anti-EoC.
So, I hold my stuns-broke-PvP position due entirely to this:
Freedom has a 30 second cooldown and prevents stuns for 6 seconds.
Anticipation has a 24 second cooldown and prevents all status problems for 10 seconds.
Using freedom, followed immediately upon deactivation by anticipation will give 16 seconds of stun immunity, with 20 seconds left for freedom to recharge once both have worn out, then another 4 for anticipation. Or 6, I don't know.
During these 20 seconds, you can be stunned again. Guess what you can do? Abso-fudgeing-lutely nothing.
Unless, of course, you stun the other guy first. But what if he's currently immune? What if it doesn't hit? What if it does hit and this just becomes a goddamn stun war?
That's why stuns broke PvP: there is no skill involved anymore. It's basically just "use stun-preventing abilities, then stun the other guy real quick while I'm weak to stuns, then use the stun-preventing abilities again, then stun the other guy when they run out..."
It's a stun war. The deciding factor in PvP battles is really who gets more stuns in. That's about it. Simple to understand, right? Well, here's an elaboration:
As stuns prevent you from doing anything during their duration, your natural response is to use Freedom, and then Anticipation, so as to get the maximum amount of stun immunity. While you're immune, what do you do? Well, certainly can't let the other guy get hits in, so should probably stun him. Oh, looks like he used freedom. Well, just beat him a little bit then use some other stunning ability, then he won't be able to do anything. Then wail on him while he can't do anything. And then he'll be ready to do more stuff, and he doesn't want you to hit him. So he stuns. Then I think you get the point.
So, now that that's all clear and understandable, on to why humans are dumb:
Got into an argument with the Bandos and Armadyl mentioned above, mostly about stuns.
Ended up explaining the situation to them basically exactly as described just above.
Turns out, somehow, disliking stuns in PvP automatically equates to being anti-EoC.
As a result, this not only means that the entire game is based around PvP, but also that such PKers admit to such combat being centered on stuns, as stuns in PvP is the equivalent of EoC, and if one supports EoC, then one does lots of PvP and thus uses lots of stuns.
Humans are dumb because they jump to these idiotic conclusions based on absolutely nothing, that in turn mean nothing and could easily be dismissed with one simple point of logic.
The point of logic that counters PvP = EoC is this:
The Evolution of Combat was based around PvM combat, which is why PvP experience gains were removed. As such, stuns were not designed for use in PvP settings, resulting in their presently devastating effect on any human being they touch. Oh, and there were other abilities introduced besides stuns, you two idiots I was arguing with.
The point of logic that proves that stuns did in fact ruin PvP is this:
Being that the Evolution of Combat and the abilities brought in alongside were designed for PvM immediately means that, as soon as people find a way to gain an advantage in a PvP environment that doesn't require more than the critical parts of the brain, they will use it. They will use it to death. As stuns prevent you from doing anything, and the stun-blocking abilities will still be half-charged while you are vulnerable, they must either be changed to Binds in PvP environments, thus blocking only the movement of the enemy, or else have all stun abilities blocked in PvP, and any abilities that include stuns have their stunning power removed in PvP. This change is necessary due to the fact that PvP fights are won simply by stunning your opponent the most. If your opponent has been stunned for longer than you have, then you can naturally deal more damage to him than he can to you. As a result, stuns MUST be changed.
Oh, and make PvP mandatory for participating in the World Event. At all.
I used to have the position that it should just be for convoy participation, but seriously, skillers don't make sense anyways. And there aren't that many of them. Why appeal to the vast minority like that? I'm literally considering just canceling membership and walking away if WE3 has PvP, but it's not mandatory.

that the oldschool RS servers are now at level 1, which means they're guaranteed, and so everyone stopped voting and there's about 1/3 of a vote per hour.
All things considered, that's actually a pretty decent rate.

It's simple grammar. This isn't only about a militia. These guys weren't dumb, they could tell that there would be a time when we wouldn't have/need a militia anymore, and appropriately worded this amendment to make sure that, even after our militia is gone, we still are guaranteed a way to defend ourselves from assault/oppressive government/criminals/whatever and a way to hunt game. Not to mention, repealing the second amendment would actually allow the government to completely take away all guns, so when criminals come out with them, there's nothing to do about it. Guy breaks into your house with a gun and you don't have one. What do you do? You die. If you had a gun, he'd more likely be dead. The problem actually is not guns. The problem is not that the amendment is invalid. The problem is there's not enough insane asylums/smart people to actually be safe without guns. If we had less insane people/dumb people/people with mental disabilities, we'd have a lot less violence, because those are the people who kill people. Guns do not kill people. Insanity kills people. We must be limiting insanity, not guns. In fact, limiting guns is illegal. "...shall not be infringed." And there you go.

But, now that I have you here...
I just wanted to say that I've wasted a good 20 seconds of your life. You won't get them back, and typing that comment complaining about it is just gonna waste more seconds of your life. And while we're wasting your life, why not just sit here and do absolutely nothing for a couple of hours?
