During a boatride, we got out to walk (barefoot) on some sand/sandstone hills and about halfway up we realized how hot the ground was. Fifteen minutes later, walking was pretty painful. Never have I walked on such a hot surface and mind you that I grew up barefoot. I've never gotten blisters on my feet, let alone ones this big. -.-
At work after lunch, we were waiting for a guy to get off the toilet so we could leave to work on something else. This guy constantly takes a half hour to go and we can only just wait around for him which makes seasonal folks look bad, not to mention he's more than likely texting. Earlier that day I had found some small bluegill in a receding puddle and another guy had taken one back. So while we're waiting I say that if we had gotten two, they should throw a fish over the stall. Well, he took too long so the guy sacrificed the fish which hit the guy in the back of the neck and fell down his pants.
Sadly, fishy was flushed.
This was at work, not my house. As you can't really tell, it's up to my knees and that white car is flooded.
...aaand working in that pushed my ill-feeling self far enough to spend my time lying on the couch. Poor choice not syncing the rest of Doctor Who to my phone yesterday.
As I was getting ready for bed, I realized I had lost a simple joy I'd had about a year and a half ago. Before Juliet died, I used to enjoy when I'd wake up in the middle of the night because both her and Romeo would be there, asleep right next to me. Now all those moments mean to me are my cold feet where she used to sleep and the fear Romeo won't be there with me much longer.
I'll be making another $300 this summer, apparently a $0.5 raise ends up about there. I just did the math and another summer help guy that spends more time avoiding work who's making $600 more than me after the raise. Then again, I have no idea about what salary should be what so maybe $9.50/hour is just the lower starting pay.
I used action essentials this time and a few more elements I didn't have before.
Yes, After Effects. It took me a while to figure out masking (due to a vague detail in the videos I watched) but I think it worked out well enough.
I've been getting antsy the whole afternoon. I just finished this year's round of college courses and I'm starting work this Monday. Thing is, it's the same job I had last summer and I absolutely can't stand it. I need the money, that's for sure, but being summer help for public works entails staying out in the hot, humid weather doing the same boring thing. Then I don't know what else to do when I finish and the other help that should be telling me what else there is to do, don't.
Walking out of that building on my last day was seriously my happiest day that summer.
Not only have I installed almost a half dozen kinds of doors this week, now I can add leatherworking to my list. I found a KA-bar in the attic above my garage next to another ivory-handled knife my mom found. My brother got that one and I went about restitching the KA-bar case since the belt loop stitching on it was broken. only broke two needles. :glasses:
Registered for fall. I did some researching and found my dual credit in pre-calc got me covered (thankfully) for my math requirement. That means no math for two years in a row. And between the time I looked up classes and organized my schedule so I wouldn't be sprinting to the next class, two of my classes had filled up. Needless to say I wasn't happy up until the point I found another elective that fit the exact same time slot (management -> investigation). :/
Schedule for whoever might care:
Everyone know the test where you are lost on the moon and rank items by their importance for survival? A girl in my class eliminated the compass (it is ranked last, in our version) because "it's kind of common sense. I mean, you need gravity..."
My group didn't do so well because we weren't sure whether the suits actually had "airlocks" for the food and water.
Messed up twice this morning. When my alarm went off at seven, I thought it was Thursday so I slept in a little. When I wake back up, it's already eight. I just laid there thinking I missed my class. Wrong again, my class is a half hour later. Wrong twice today already. So here I am in Tactics. :)
When I was restoring my phone to 4.3.1, I had gotten a "1015" error. That started about three hours ago. The tinyumbrella Fix Recovery thing finally ran its course properly after more than a dozen runs and my phone is back on its way. Heart attack averted.
Oh, and when I tried to restore my backup, it kept saying my password was wrong. Found a program that tests passwords based on my own wordlist and I find the backup's password is the same as my computer's. I know I didn't put it as that and I read in the same thread that iTunes sets passwords, too. Nice choice.
Next stop, jailbreaking again once it's released.
