I always find myself drawn back to this site just to see how everyone is doing, and instead of simply visiting and then lleaving like a bad one night stand I figured I should at least make a blog post. You know, to be gentleman-ly like, I guess.
A brief update on my life:
-Been reading a lot, since video games have been starting to be phased out of my life I need a new addiction. Barnes and Nobles' classics collection has become my best friend, especially with its "Buy two get the third free deal." I've become very attached to Franz Kafka. Oh, and I'm about halfway through Thus Spoke Zarathustra.
-Been writing almost as much as reading. Recently I have been writing more than reading. If you want a look a good portion of my writing is here: http://www.writersca...nlocks/writing/
-A lot of other stuff that I don't feel like mentioning.
So yeah, I guess now I can leave without feeling like an un-gentleman, so I guess this is bye once more.
Well quite recently me and my dad have been arguing about homosexual people, mainly in the Boy Scouts. He mentioned that he's glad that gay's aren't allowed in scouting and I asked him why. Of course at this he got very mad and just kinda ended the subject. I know that no matter what I say he won't change his views the slightest so I'm kinda stuck. Whatcha'll think?
So anyways, I can kinda vote for this election coming up; and I trust you fair denizens of Sal's Realm a lot more than most news stations so I just wanna get some people's opinion's of both candidates. The good, the bad, the ugly, the weird, anything really. I really don't want this to turn into an argument entry, I just want to see what people think about who. Thanks ahead of time :D
Almost got arrested with my two friends because we were playing music on the boardwalk at Wildwood. So much for the land of the free...
I dunno, maybe two guitars and a guy banging drumsticks on everything breeds terroristic ideas or something.
For once delving the depths of Youtube hasn't completely screwed me over; I actually had to check my pulse because of all the good music the sidebar was promising... I think I entered music heaven.
SO. MUCH. INDIE ROCK.
I really enjoyed this, mostly because a lot of people in my life don't get that I don't smile for just anything. It should be worth something.

To those of you that do not know, Network is a 1976 film about a news anchorman gone crazy. This film is amazing. I really enjoyed it for its look at us American's and our televisions that we love so much. The film shows the dark side to corporate America and so much more. I highly recommend to everyone, especially Americans to watch this film.
"You have meddled with the primal forces of nature, Mr. Beale, and I won't have it! Is that clear? You think you've merely stopped a business deal. That is not the case! The Arabs have taken billions of dollars out of this country, and now they must put it back! It is ebb and flow, tidal gravity! It is ecological balance! You are an old man who thinks in terms of nations and peoples. There are no nations. There are no peoples. There are no Russians. There are no Arabs. There are no third worlds. There is no West. There is only one holistic system of systems, one vast and immane, interwoven, interacting, multivariate, multinational dominion of dollars. Petro-dollars, electro-dollars, multi-dollars, reichmarks, rins, rubles, pounds, and shekels. It is the international system of currency which determines the totality of life on this planet. That is the natural order of things today. That is the atomic and subatomic and galactic structure of things today! And YOU have meddled with the primal forces of nature, and YOU... WILL... ATONE! Am I getting through to you, Mr. Beale? You get up on your little twenty-one inch screen and howl about America and democracy. There is no America. There is no democracy. There is only IBM, and ITT, and AT&T, and DuPont, Dow, Union Carbide, and Exxon. Those are the nations of the world today. What do you think the Russians talk about in their councils of state, Karl Marx? They get out their linear programming charts, statistical decision theories, minimax solutions, and compute the price-cost probabilities of their transactions and investments, just like we do. We no longer live in a world of nations and ideologies, Mr. Beale. The world is a college of corporations, inexorably determined by the immutable bylaws of business. The world is a business, Mr. Beale. It has been since man crawled out of the slime. And our children will live, Mr. Beale, to see that... perfect world... in which there's no war or famine, oppression or brutality. One vast and ecumenical holding company, for whom all men will work to serve a common profit, in which all men will hold a share of stock. All necessities provided, all anxieties tranquilized, all boredom amused. And I have chosen you, Mr. Beale, to preach this evangel."
I'm incapable of coming to a conclusion myself so I guess I'm going to try and build a consensus here. But anyway the question is: How do you feel about anger?
Yup, that's all. Oh and this isn't a question of whether I'm going crazy or not, so don't ask :P
Amazing how the last 2 minutes of a film can really save it. The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo started out really slow but definitely picked up towards the middle. As stated above, the ending really saved it; I absolutely adore the character of Lisbeth. Overall, I did enjoy this film.
So after a long weekend of soul searching I have decided that I'm not going to judge Halo 4 until I play it. I'm going to put faith into 343 and trust their ability to make a good game. Last time I did this was with Modern Warfare 3... and that did not end up to good.
Oh, and sorry I couldn't get too involved in my last blog entry, kinda had a camping trip this weekend :P Really enjoyed reading everyone's opinions though.
And my thoughts on the gaming industry still stand. May do an EA rant later.
So why is Halo turning into Call of Duty? Why is every FPS turning into Call of Duty? Sigh... the upcoming BF3 expansions better be good...
The gaming market seriously needs more games like Dark Souls; games that aren't afraid to annihilate you, games that make you think, games that actually have quality to them. Call of Duty's success seriously made something go wrong in video gaming, everything's just getting too dumbed down. It's really starting to piss me off.
