Today is the anniversery of D Day, the memoric (is that even a word? ) day when the winning side started to shift during WWII. It is also the 1-year anniversery of the RuneScape Massacre (:P!). Meh, I'll update this entry in a little bit; I gtg.
If you read my previous entry, you should know that my family computer is broken. Deciding to do something about it, my family and I went out to Best Buy to look for a new one. Aparenltly XP is now obsolete and discontinued, so we decided we would get a Vista. The only problem is, though, nearly all of our Windows XP programs do not run on Vista. That may or may not include the version of iTunes that I had (because I can't remember if I downloaded the latest version or not). If it's not, that means I would probably have to buy 50+ dollars worth of songs all over again. That would suck!
Anyways, when we got to the store, we looked at the model that my parents were looking into. I've gotta tell you, despite the whole XP/Vista discompadibility thing, I really love the Vista programming. It's just like a Mac in its visuals, good feeling, and just plain old new-looking. The start-up time for everything was reduced, all the MS software got a makeover, they have an actual clock, calander, movie player, etc. that you can place on the desktop, etc. etc. The list goes on and on; Vista looks really great!
Well then after we looked at that and another one (with a cool keyboard with buttons for internet, email, MS Calculator, and several other accessories that I thought were pretty neat), we noticed something. The sale that had been going on on all Vista computers had just ended the day before. My parents were there that night and the employee they were with said nothing about the sale ending. Needless to say, we were pretty pissed.
We went home without a new computer, and my mom said that her boss would be able to give us here XP since she is going to get a new Vista herself. That's good, but it'll probably only last us a year or so before we get ourselves a Vista. That's going to be great. :)
Today was an interesting day. The day before mother's day, I woke up and did random stuff all day long as usual. Then, however, my dad, brother, and I went shopping for last-minute Mother's Day presents. When we got back, we noticed a very weird odor in the house. Thinking it was Bleach, we paid attention to the air conditioner, thinking it could somehow be spreading the Bleach that was used to clean it. Eventually, we noticed the family computer. It wasn't working; the screen was not responding when we turned it on [and it was off although we had left it on when we had left]. When my dad brought the computer towards him to check the wires in the back, he smelt the smell even stronger. It was a unanimous agreement within the family that the computer caused the smell, so he opened up the side to see what was wrong. There, inside the computer was a wire with a burnt, smoldering black part on the motherboard. We don't know what caused it or even what the damage was, but we knew we were very, very lucky that our house did not burn down as a result. If we had not come home and checked what was wrong with the computer, it could have caught onto the house and I would now be homeless.
Dell Support called back later in the day when just my brother and I were home, so I answered and said my parents were not home yet, so they said they would call back in an hour. Needless to say, that never happened.
The next interesting part happened in my clan event, which I would normally write in the "Green Dawn" section, except that is for GD members only, and this isn't a clan secret, so there's no need in keeping it from the public blog-viewers.
We went to our first clan event in several months: A Pking Trip. It was quite fun; we all met at Edgeville at first, and then made our way over to the house near the hill giants. We pked a few, but then I got separated from the clan and ran south to avoid death. When I returned to the house, Sir Ajacobs, the clan leader, led an attack on me. Just before death, I teled to Fally and healed myself by the monks and restored my prayer points. I then met up with Eden Cook (who was the first of the clan to actually die) to take on Sir and his traitorism. We met up with a person in the wild who we asked for help. He thought we were just trying to trick him, so he killed Eden (but was unable to get me due to level difference). He then followed me back up to Sir and nearly died before Sir got me. He might have died after me, but I can't say for sure. Then, I returned once again against my better judgement, and it went basically the same way as the first assassination attempt, except for the fact that he had the entire clan on his side. After that near-death experience, I went once or twice more just for the fun of it, and then called it quits to go get ice cream at Cold Stone with my family.
All in all, the day was a pretty interesting one, full of surprises and disappointments, but hey. At least my house was not set ablaze :D
Today I saw Spiderman 3 in the theaters with a few of my friends. It was all right, but the first one is definately the best, although #3 was better than #2, I'd have to say. I just think the third one had too much going on, with 3 villians being a bit too much, especially when two of them look similar (Harry and the photographer guy). I don't want to spoil the ending for those of you who haven't seen it yet, so just don't highlight the following :P
It seemed to me, however, that the movie was very symbolic. I haven't made up my mind of whether this added or lessened the movie quality, but almost everything in the movie seemed like a metaphor. Examples are: 1. Venom=Revenge, The Spoiler explains another one, etc. etc.
Has anybody else seen Spiderman 3? How did you like it?
In other movie-related topics:
I've been wanting to see Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End for some time now. Although I never knew what the movie was called until recently, I have been waiting since last summer when I had heard that the third movie was filmed at the same time of the second, but they decided to wait a year or so before release. It's coming out on May 25th, meaning there are just 20 more days and counting. As long as the 25th isn't a school day (and I don't think it is), I am going to see if I can go see it with a friend or two of mine on its premier date.
A movie that I saw for the first time (but had kinda-sorta expected) is #3 in the Bourne Identity series. I forget the exact name of it, but it was something like the Bourne: Ultima. (The word came from the route word of ultimate.) I saw the first two which were pretty good, although not excellent, and the third looks the same. I'm not expecting to be amazed at how good it is, but the Bourne trilogy seems to spark my interest, so I'm probably going to see that sometime, too.
Spiderman 3, Pirates of the Caribbean 3, and Bourne 3. I seem to like trilogies, don't I?
Announcement#1. ~~The Blog!~~
Yes, that's right; after half a year on the forum, I have finally decided to create a blog. It has practically nothing as of yet, but I plan on updating it as close to daily as I can (without adding a spam coment of "yesh, I am bored today. again."). I will post whenever something interesting happens. Yay me!
Announcement#2. ~~Green Dawn Notice~~
The category entitled 'Green Dawn' is for specified users only (namely the ones who are members of the clan of Green Dawn). Although there is nothing in there yet, it will be a place for news, announcements, and inside jokes with my fellow members of Green Dawn. If you are part of the clan and do not have access to the category yet, simply PM me and I will add you to the list of abled viewers.
My blog has been created on 5/4, and I will try to now keep it updated as much as possible. There is not much going on in life, but I just decided to make a blog anyways. Starting today, my parents are away for the weekend at a Yankees game, and my grandmother is here in their place. I was planning on seeing Spiderman 3 tomorrow with some friends, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to since my parents are out of town or out of state or something. In Runescape, nothing much is happening, either. I have just been training on experiments. Although they are only level 25, they have 100hp, meaning 400xp each, so it's not bad training. As for news in WoW, I now have two characters: a level 15 human paladin and a level 7 night elf druid. That's pretty much it for now, since there's not much going on. I'll post back with any new updates!
