Thanks to Melissa Nicole for showing this to me.

So apparently in Massachusetts its illegal to be an Atheist. Here is a quote from mass.gov.

Chapter 272: Section 36. Blasphemy

Section 36. Whoever wilfully blasphemes the holy name of God by denying, cursing or contumeliously reproaching God, his creation, government or final judging of the world, or by cursing or contumeliously reproaching Jesus Christ or the Holy Ghost, or by cursing or contumeliously reproaching or exposing to contempt and ridicule, the holy word of God contained in the holy scriptures shall be punished by imprisonment in jail for not more than one year or by a fine of not more than three hundred dollars, and may also be bound to good behavior.

Just in case I haven't broken the law enough in the past... God doesn't exist, it didn't make the world, and the Bible has many fictitious stories in it. Now to go turn myself into the police... :D

Funniest thing ever. "What are you in for?" "Rape and murder. You?" "Blasphemy." "ZOMG THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!"

It says that Congress shall make no law, not a state government. I wondered about the wording there since 8th grade when I first really looked at the Bill of Rights, and I guess this is a case where its come back to bite us in the :( .

Okay, then. I'll go into the police station, deny the existence of god (since that's mentioned in the law), and see what happens. :( Problem is my parents would wonder where I am since going to the police station and back would be a pretty long run and I don't think they'd say OK if I asked if I could turn myself in. :P

Denying the existence of the Christian God wouldn't break that law, fully insulting might. Either way, the police wouldn't care since its modern Massachusetts.

No you aren't. 1st amendment ftw.Stop using this as an excuse to pick on the religious. Reverse intolerance, buddy.
Here is the first amendment:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Where does it say that state governments cannot make laws respecting a religion? I don't see it anywhere in there. This isn't picking on the religious. :P Its showing how stupid some laws are. And this definitely isn't intolerant towards religions (specifically Christianity, since that's the religion to which this law is referring). You just assume that everything I say that isn't pro-religion is anti-religion. That certainly is not the case.

Not really. It just gets irritating to see complaining against Christianity every day... I prefer coexistence meself.Oh, and be glad this isn't Saudi Arabia where gayity resuls in the death penalty and you gotta be Islam.

I know this isn't Saudi Arabia, but I don't think that Saudi Arabia claims to be "the land of the free". The US does.

For the Saudi Arabia sentence, I'm not sure about the first statement, but you don't have to be Islamic to live in Saudia Arabia, many foreigners live there to do business, my uncle lived there for a while and he's not Muslim.
