Folding@home
Folding@Home is a project organized by Stanford University to utilize the unused processing power of computers in order to "understand protein folding, misfolding, and related diseases."
All you have to do is download a simple client for your operating system (Windows, Mac, Linux) from the website and you can set it up to use you processor to help the brave and muscular scientists with their folding. :P
You can also choose a username to keep track of how many proteins you have completed. :(
Next-gen graphics baby!
After running my processor at 100% for a while I became worried that it may be getting too hot in there. So I opened up the case and I was greeted by 5 years worth of dust. After cleaning it out my computer is a lot quieter. :D
