This delicious and easy to make Thai-style chutney is perfect as a dip.

Blend together all the following ingredients with a little water:

1 bunch - Fresh Coriander

25g - Dessicated (or block) coconut

1cm - fresh ginger root or 1 tsp - dried ginger

1 clove - garlic

Few slices - onion or leek

1/2 tsp - cumin

1/2 tsp - pepper powder

1 tblsp - sugar

1 pinch - salt

2 tblsp - lemon juice

1 - green chilli - deseeded (optional - if you don't like spicy food)

Enjoy!

Sounds, appetising. Though the coconut does sound a little iffy to me, or that may just be because I don't get adding fruit to savoury things.

I was thinking the same thing, although I also just don't like coconut.

I used to feel the same, but you just have to try this to believe it. Also, it's not savoury, a chutney is between a pickle and a jam, so it's meant to be pretty sweet.

The only chutney I use is a sweet chilli based one. It's also quite salty so it is more savoury than sweet
