Had this really, really weird dream last night. To sum up, the MC, or Main Character (not me, but somehow I was dreaming as him) was an orphan who somehow had been sent to an alternate reality. In this reality, MC's mother was not dead, and MC was able to enjoy spending time with her again. However, one day MC got a call from a morgue asking him to identify his mother's body. A long car-ride later, he finds that it was a false alarm. MC drives back home, relieved and even more determined not to take his mother for granted. When he gets home late at night, MC has so much going through his mind that he wants to say to his mother, but he falls asleep before he can call her. The next day, MC's mother really dies -- heart attack. As he looks at her lifeless body, MC says quietly to no-one in particular, "It's real this time, isn't it?... [shizzle]."
The weirdest thing is that it was all laid out in manga-form, like a webcomic. I really have been reading too many of those, I guess, to be getting dreams like this. Before I went to bed, I heard that an old family friend had died, which probably spawned the dream. I woke up at the end, and couldn't get back to sleep for the longest time. So depressing. Would make a damn good comic, though.
