The White Boots / Gloves look grey. :(

 

Desert Boots go well. Ice Gloves are too blue and Mime Gloves are exactly the same.

 

Dragon Gloves look reasonable, perhaps a tad large (they're the same as Dark Mystic Gloves, with the wrist and hand colours inverted). Zamorak Vambraces are slightly too light, but look better than the giants that are full gloves imo.

 

For the moment, I've settled on:

Have you tried changing your hair color to white? That's what I did when I was looking for an outfit that could accommodate the Varrock Armour 3, and it worked pretty well. White hair, red headband, perhaps.

Although the current version looks much better than the original, I don't dig the look and think the Chain looks much nicer as a 'hawt but functional' item of clothing.

I used to have white hair, but changed it because I wasn't a massive fan. I've been considering changing my default look (nothing equipped) for a while now, so it'll probably get a look in at some point in the near future.

Neo I was thinking of making this as sort of a mini-bank suggestion but tell me what you think.

 

Instead of cluttering your bank with feather hats why not have the Ogre who gives them to you act as a bank strictly for the hats and they get added over time.

 

Or have the Ogre act as a store and you can buy multiple copies of each hat for 1gp each once you get the number requirement.

 

Number Requirement = Free Hat

+ Access to Ogre Shop to buy the Hat for 1gp.

I've only got 2 of the Chompy Hats (the one in the screenshot and the 5-feather Cyan one) in my bank. :P

 

Although Rantz will only give you one of each hat, if you drop them then he'll give you more (or at least would last time I visited). This means that I have 3 or 4 of the hats that I do have sitting as space holders. I certainly couldn't afford the bank space to keep all the Chompy Hats with 40 spaces taken up by seeds coming in from Misc.

But he's in the middle of nowhere and hardly convenient to get to. :P

 

If I need a specific hat, I'll head his way, but otherwise I'm fine with keeping a couple in my bank for everyday use. I've not been there recently (will head there to pick up my 1700 kill hat at some point now I've reached that milestone), but the method of being given the hats could do with improving - the long chat where you're given them one by one is slow when you want a specific one, albeit good that you can get multiples from it by dropping.

It being ancient and with a few small flaws makes it even more enjoyable imo. If the flashing arrows above Chompies worked 'properly', you'd lose part of the fun of having to spot them appearing in large groups. :D

Mine are Goldsmith Gaunts atm and I cba changing them until I reach 80 Smith whenever that may be.

Never played the RC mini-game for the RC gloves. Skeletal Gloves look... odd (based on the pic on RS wiki).

I killed myself a few more Chompies to get the Red and Black 5-feather hats, neither of which worked with the previous hair colour. Because of this, I've switched to white hair, but aren't totally sure that I'm liking it. I'll give it a while before making a decision about it, though.

The black hat works well with Black DHide.

The minigame for air RC gloves is called Fist of Guthix. I wrote a mini-guide on how to get the most points per round (at least IMO), right here. It's a nice minigame with good rewards, you should give them a look.
