Oops, it seems like I added something that's only available in the Beta version... *works to remove, sorry*

 

EDIT: Not what I thought it was. Looking more into it.

It's been updated and is now working in both the Beta and regular releases of Chrome. :D

For whatever reason, Jagex has stopped providing information about completed GE offers, so the notification to tell you how many are complete isn't working. I've sent in a bug report, so we'll have to hope the full data is put back soon.

I've just had a situation where the extension was showing that I had one completed GE offer despite there being two completed offers in-game. It seems like the system Jagex has in place to generate the data is even more random than I thought! :P

(though it's nice to see that it'll sometimes show completed offers)

If that was the case, I would have remembered to test it on the regular version of Chrome as well as the Beta one.

Update time!

 

It's been updated with a few changes and bugfixes to improve accuracy and remove a few console errors...

 

- Fixed a rounding error with quanities of processed items in the GE

- Added information messages which appear when there's no content in the response from the server in personalised content related requests

- Added a feed for the latest RuneScape News, styling it with an accordion effect

- Created a tabbed interface (Personal, News)

- Improved the styling of the Authorisation table

 

Currently, the news feed loads every time you view the popup, though I'll look into this tomorrow and try to make things quicker.

 

(you can force the update by going to chrome://extensions, enabling 'Developer Mode' and clicking 'Update extensions now', or wait a few hours for it to update automatically)

This time it's not new stuff, but re-working pretty much everything that I'd already written to make opening the popup much faster (typically 3-5x faster on a slow machine, more of an increase on faster ones), make it harder to accidentally get blocked by Jagex, and re-work some of the core code to make it easier to add other features in. There are also a few bugfixes thrown in for good measure.

 

If you do get blocked, the 'information essays' don't seem to be showing up properly, but I'd say that the speed increases are worth coping this small issue for a little while. ^_^

The 'Reload Popup' button/link should now work, although it may take a couple of clicks to update properly due to the way it's written - I'll try to fix this.

The Activity data will now update and isn't stuck on whatever it was when the extension was enabled / Chrome opened.

The icon now has a handy tooltip with some of the useful numbers in so you don't need to keep opening the popup to see if Jagex's data has bugged or your Activity info has updated.

10. Why are some of my completed Grand Exchange offers not showing?
Completed Grand Exchange offers are only displayed on the RuneScape Game Bar while you are not logged into the game. When you next log in (or if you happened to be logged in when the offer completed) any completed offers will be removed from the Game Bar, however, this may take up to ten minutes due to how frequently the Game Bars is updated (see question 8). When an offer is considered to be complete it is deleted from the Game Bar, however, you may see completed offers in the Game Bar until you next log into RuneScape and the Game Bar information updates.

Is it me, or is that logic terrible? If I'm in-game Slaying some creature in a far-off location nowhere near the GE, I want to be able to see the current status of my offers and don't want to have to remember what I put in and may possibly be completed now. Having to wait until I've finished what I'm doing before being able to see what the 'One or more of [my] Grand Exchange offers have completed' are is plain irritating. >.<

Today's update adds notifications for when anything updates. There are also some new icons. :D

 

 

Fix-wise, the 'information essays' show correctly now, plus the icon tooltip will update at the same time as the data rather than when it feels like doing so.
