I'll go and try to swap firefox for chrome as game browser

and if this works well than I have no reason to stick to firefox :)

unrequested pop-ups are very poor design. the notifications are really enough. is that what I'm actually seeing or am I misunderstanding things? I'd rather just see the red notification bubble thingy than have the notification stuffs.

Popup = the thing that appears when you click the 'RS' icon - this

 

Notifications = what appears when things update - these. If you want to disable the notifications, there's an option to do so by clicking on the spanner icon and choosing to disable notifications. I could possibly have a look into the permissions system to give slightly more control, though no promises.

The pop-up from the clicking of the button is quite fine, but the notification kinda oughtn't be there. What I was referring to as a notification, though, was the little red number that appears over the button when something's new. I'd rather see that little number than have the notification window thingy pop out on its own. Make sense now?

Updated to act like that by default in 0.5.1

 

There's an option in the popup to enable the notifications for anybody who wishes to do so.
