Note: Thanks to Egghebrecht for the use of his Armadyl armor while ranging/cannoning.
Edit to add a few more tips:
1. I'd recommend black dragonhide/armadyl over void while range+cannoning imps/lesser demons and ghouls. The cannon will be dealing the vast majority of damage, so maximize your range bonus.
2. You can use a bonecrusher to track your kills.
3. The (adult) tooth creature can block NPCs, allowing effective use of a cannon in single-combat areas. Remember to bring a few buckets of milk to feed your pet or it'll run away. The screenshots below show some ideal spots to set up your cannon while using the tooth creature and surrounding environment as cover.
4. If you or other player run over the tooth creature, it will lose its blocking ability. Click "call follower" to reset it.
Aberrant Spectres: Cannon them as you would during a slayer task. A steel titan speeds up kills, a yak defrays the cost of cannonballs.
Imps: Cannon them, along with lesser demons, in the resource dungeon. Bring a tooth creature to block.
NB: This assumes that you haven't obtained the lesser demon scroll. If you have, then the God Wars dungeon may be a better location for imps.
Skeletons: Lumbridge catacombs. Use dragon darts, void, extreme ranging potions, and possibly rigour. Don't wait for a skeleton to die before firing at another one.
Ghouls: Cannon them just west of the Canifis fairy ring. Use the tooth creature to block. Bots may often run over your tooth creature; spam "call follower" to keep it blocking the ghouls.
Hobgoblins: Cannon them in the wilderness. Wear cheap ranging armor with a crystal bow. Bring an imp-in-a-box and your tooth creature. You can't block the northern approach, so a hobgoblin will occasionally engage you in combat.
