Two worlds 2

Looking for a new rpg to play, and a non (first person) shooter one. And two worlds 2 popped up in my list, seems to have good reviews but I never heard of it myself.

Anyone here have any experience with it?

or the short version: Buy y/n

Other suggestions welcome too

i'm looking for a game in the style of neverwinter nights 2, KOTOR, the witcher, ... etc. Preferably a native mac version (most rpg's tend to get ported) since after the witcher i'm done with wineskin ports which just crash too often due to conflicts with my graphics card.

It absolutely doesn't have to be a new game, just has to be a good one, (very) good graphics are a big plus but not a necessity. Graphics are also the reason why I haven't bought those big indie rpg's on steam yet, I really don't like how they look. And anime artwork is a no go too, I just can't stand it :dead:.

There isn't really a short version for Two Worlds 2. I played it through entirely, but have mixed feelings. There are frankly a lot of bugs. Maybe not as much as a Bethesda game, but they bothered me more. Also, the endgame is ridiculously easy, and most bosses were more difficult to kill than certain normal enemies. The story leaves much to be desired. Honestly, not even near the quality of any of the games you mentioned. I'd look at some let's plays though, always useful. The game wasn't terrible, and I didn't mind playing through it, but then again, not great.

That's the kind of info I was looking for, guess I'll go look for another game. Anyone got a suggestion?

Well, the remake of Baldur's Gate is out September 18th. Torchlight 2 is out 20th of September. Continuing in that genre, Diablo 3? (Although I suppose that by RPG you also mean something beyond being able to pick skills?)

hmm baldurs gate, that sounds good

and diablo 3 I wouldn't consider an rpg indeed, that's a hack and slash :P

edit: woot baldurs gate remake will get a native mac version upon release :)

Fair enough. One game I really like was Divinty II: Ego Draconis. If you do decide to get that game, though, get Divinity II: Dragon Knight Saga which includes the game plus an add-on, and updates that allow you to play the game at 60 fps rather than 20 (I'm not even joking). It was really tedious to get through the game without the update, but even without it it was a lot of fun.

If you can find TW2 for like $15 then go for it, I enjoyed it, just not worth the full retail price.

yeah it's 40€ for the version with the expansion (which fixes a lot of bugs) and that is a bit much for a game that ain't top

You could try Skyrim, which has a third person mode that works perfectly well, or perhaps Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition?

elder scrolls still doesn't do mac ports, one of those companies that seemingly hasn't noticed yet that there is anything beyond windows

Pshaw, people using Macs would probably lose 10-0 at Pong

Look, we're trying to help the guy find a new game, not give him terrible anger issues.

Welp, he'll come after us all with his armour and sword

Unless he uses a mace, or a bardiche
