iPhone 4s > android phones

Pshaw, Android > all the things

Personally I have a Motorola Defy+ (MB526). I bought it for 199 Euro, but it was on sale. No clue about what the prices in the UK are...

If I were you, I'd consider Windows Phones as well, they're pretty cool. Otherwise, I'd just take a look at everything under 200 you can get from well-known brands and then look at reviews for each one on a site like CNET.

Alternatively buy a cheap phone for sms'ing and calling and the Nexus 7.

"less than £200"

They're about 100-150 USD here.

Wut

The cheapest ones in Italy start from 629 EUR

4s, not 5

Also, the US Apple store lists the price as $549.00

It's with a contract, not the phone itself (but I'd assume you'd use as a smart phone with a contract rather than a pay as you go). I got my 4 for only $50 and I didn't have to change my current phone plan or anything

M'dear, why on Earth would I want to subscribe a contract with an US carrier?

Of course there are, but if I buy a Verizon-locked phone, I foresee trouble using it with -say- Telecom Italia.. :s

after you get the phone, jailbreak it, unlock it, insert Telecom SIM. ^^

*uninformed idea*

Ps, I thought Hunter was asking the question..

But doesn't buying a locked phone with a contract make you subject to the costs of said contract...?

Thanks a lot guys, I'll keep these all in mind. I was asking for phones under £250 WITHOUT contract, but I'm now considering a contract... I'll pay like 25% more, but I get the texts etc I use with it anyway, so it's cool. I just can't bear being tied in for 18 months... ._.

In which case I'm looking at the Galaxy S2 or HTC One X (The S3 is more expensive and I have no real interest in it :P).
